Grab the limeware platter first, as its the only thing you need to drop and pick up before your spree of theft. Once you get in the room with the key, this is when you drop your inventory. Steal something across the room which will draw the guard to you to take it back. After he does, run around him and grab then drop the warehouse key. This gives you extra time to react as he has to come back to the bookshelf. Once the key is yours, pick your inventory off the floor and talk to him as normal and proceed.
While following this guide I got targeted by the Dark Brotherhood, found out their entire armor set sells for over 2000k so I'm never doing any quest to stop them ever.
@@josewemersondasilva9040 lol that's exactly why I stop playing the game which was years ago on the original Xbox before I got a gaming pc. I was in the middle of the theives guild quest which needed me to go still a sword from a chest which I realized that I had already stole it and sold it hours ago.
Besides all kinds of other improvements OpenMW engine has an option (bugfixes tab in launcher) to prevent NPCs from equipping their inventory items. Install the latest stable build (v 0.47 at the time I wrote this) or a dev build and have fun playing a game free of file corruption and with an actual stable engine.
I got the game for $1 at a pawn shop. Been having extremely hard time getting started. Now I'm ready to kick butt confidently. Before even with steel armor the first bandit in that first cave destroyed me. Now I can handle myself.
This is the best tip of all for new players. Making alchemy one of your main skills is super-helpful to this end, because fatigue potions are really easy to make early on.
I've been playing for 52 hours with the same character and never went back to Seyda Neen to find all that stuff, thought it was just a simple beginning. I really love this game.
Wasn't planning on stealing the stuff from the back room until after the recording had started. It was an impulse action on the spot and I would have done it differently if I'd thought about it before recording.
i am such a braindead idiot i had to drop everything and because i play on pc i dont know if there is a button to press that let you drop the item you are hovering over with your mouse ( pls tell me if you know) soi had to klich on every item and drop it by clicking next to my inventory... it took me like 10 minutes
If you steal the Limeware platter after leaving, they charge you with a crime. So even if you drop it, you still lose around 40 gold. It's just easier to do it before you leave
@@kennuuthswansun3379 You can just take the platter in the room, drop it, talk to the guard, pick it back up, continue and take the stuff from the other room.
Lutter yeah, tbh I commented before I saw that part so it makes more sense now XD. I also like stealing the books in the first room, but you have to take and drop much faster than with the platter
This is very helpful, I've been trying to get into Morrowind because everyone says how amazing it is, but it's hard to get into. Thanks. Also, fun Elder Scrolls Easter Egg, Creeper is actually another form of Clavicus Vile's hound/companion Barbas, and he's there specifically to make deals with those Orcs for his master.
It's interesting to ponder whether this was a retcon or not. Clavicus Vile is the prince of trickery and wishes, specifically about transactions he can do with you. However, barbas as he acts in Skyrim and Oblivion seems to be the half of him who gets Clavicus to keep his promises, hence why creeper would be such a reliable and honest merchant. Although this is just speculation for lore. I know the in game reason is that he has no mercantile skill or disposition, as he is a creature
I wish you all the best. When I played morrowind I have not used any guidance even if was available in the time I played. Don't spoil yourself experiences from the game that is what makes game amazing when you figure out how to play it. But choice is yours.
The blue bar is your magicka. It doesn't regen on it's own, but when you rest (Either in the wilderness or in a bed, you can't just wait in a town), it'll regen a bit depending on some skills I believe and how long you rest.
I started the elder scrolls series with oblivion when I was a kid about 6 years ago or so, then got Skyrim with my first paycheck. so many good memories in oblivion. just picked up the anthology and installed Morrowind and have been playing for aboot half an hour. I already like it most. it doesn't *spoon feed* quests and makes you pay attention. just love for this game already. thanks for this guide, helped me out a lot.
B52's really don't get me wrong but the quest markers are not a big deal from reading a quest lot or having the quest spoken to you in the end it's the same coming from someone who has played them all and love them all
Honestly, I look up your morrowind videos every time I start a new playthrough. These have now become essential to my morrowind gaming experience. Well done! ❤
Dated info but I’ve been playing this game for a very long time across PC and as of this week on all 3 generations of Xbox consoles. If you know the location of the Orc Umbra (easy to get to and just google his location) but if you jump on the large rock behind him and fire away with a bow (bring a ton of arrows and repair hammers) he is a high level mob but can’t get up to you to fight back. Just chip away at him and eventually you will have yourself a FULL set of Orcish Armor and the powerful sword umbra. I do this every time I start a new game lol
I probably wouldn't do this myself because it would feel like I've been cheated out of a boss fight that I could check my character against, but this is a really good idea!
know what, I used the scrolls that give you mad hops, I survived the fall(landed in water) but I landed strait in the middle of two skeletons...who pretty much killed me instantly, so it still killed me lol
Never played this and I'm blessed to have xbox game pass so I can finally play this bad boy for free pretty much I've loved oblivion, skyrim and eso still wanna try arena and daggerfall
I've loved Skyrim, only got into my first oblivion gate when oblivion was took off game pass so now morrowind is here along with oblivion, I'm gonna go 3 through 5
fun fact Creeper the scamp is actually Barbas the talking dog from Skyrim, a little Easter egg if you talk to Barbas he will mention that he has taken many forms over the years including "a scamp trading with orcs"
One thing to note that he didn't mention: In the bandit cave near Seyda Neen, you can frequently find several samples of Moon Sugar and a few bottles of Skooma. These are both really helpful for selling once you reach Ra'Virr in Balmora. Alternatively, I believe you can sell them to Creeper, who will pay full price for them. If you want to barter with Arrille in the meantime, you can simply drop the moon sugar and skooma, do your business, then pick them back up again.
Don't forget Mephala's Quest (needs 2-3 Scroll of Ondusi's Unhinging) for the Ring of Khajiit. Can be done at level one, and you can get it rolling while you finish up the Vassir-Didanat Ebony Mine quest.
About the Fight in the shack: jump onto the table. He won't have enough reach to get to you; using a spear or ranged attack, you can still get to him. Makes killing the guy easy. And a little something in case Tribunal is included. The thing is that this expansion has (a chance of) Dark Brotherhood assassins attack you every time you sleep... 1. The bedroll in the first building (it has a tutorial message about sleep the first time) is the only place to sleep in the game that does NOT trigger the attack 2. kill the assassin (well you have to) and use or sell the (light) armor and dagger off him. It is very good gear, and pays a hefty sum if sold.
Rename: how to make 30 minutes feel like 5. Joke aside, i planned to watch about 5 minutes of this video (because most guides are super boring) suddenly the video ended, and i was lime "whaaat" really good job!
There's something you should know dude. Your merchantile skill is affected by your amount of fatigue. You can sell for more at max fatigue. Also raise their disposition.
Not really. All it means is that you have to have full fatigue to sell things at your best for your current mercantile skill. It's pretty much like how fighting is affected by your remaining fatigue.
I can assure it doesn't affect disposition. Mercantile perhaps but I'd have to test that too. I spoke to someone then jumped until my stamina was gone and it had zero affect on disposition.
Pro tip: After you kill the guy who murdered the tax man, sleep a few times in his bed. I did and a guy from some brotherhood dude who wanted to kill me appeared. After getting the two healing potions, it was easy to kill him with the long sword even though I had NO skill. His dark brotherhood clothes give great armor until you get the orc armor. Best thing i could keep the brotherhood boots and gauntlets with the orc armor (sold the head piece before although it looked really cool) and the creeper bought the remaining brotherhood armor for over 2k. Thank you for the great video brother! Very helpful!
So, I've loved this game since I was 14, and am currently replaying on Xbox One. I thought I knew EVERYTHING about the beginning towns and areas, and you threw a few curve balls in there I have never heard of! Great video!
If you're on PC you can just open your inventory and then pick up and put down the key (while your inventory is open) without having to worry about beating the guard to the punch.
It's really refreshing to see someone play a game I'm passionate about. I was about to ask him for a morrowind playlist but discovered that he had one. Skyrim was too dumbed down for me (and I dont have hope for the next elderscrolls integration) so my love of elderscrolls goes to morrowind 1st and oblivion 2nd that's why I love these videos haha
I'm a dark souls fan so I love when games are confusing and make you think about everything you do. It adds to the mystery of the game and keeps things interesting.
I know it’s January 2019 but I want to play Morrowind. I am a big ES5 Skyrim fan but I haven’t played the older games and I wanted to so I got an Xbox one and I’m getting Morrowind and Oblivion. Starting with Morrowind. I will be watching this full vid and I appreciate the tips ahead of time. Ready to play!
I actually started playing it for the first time a couple years ago and have been playing it off and on since. It's a lot of fun. It's story and "struggle" are so immersive that you kind of don't notice the primitive graphics anymore. And it's a great feeling of accomplishment when your character finally gets really good with his attacks (whatever they may be), because you'll spend a lot of the beginning levels whiffing in combat and wondering if you're character is secretly on drugs. Just hang in there!
I watched the whole video without blinking. Beautiful job man, really. I was thinking about starting Morrowind all over again and after this video it is the first thing I am going to do right now! I will be following your Morrowind stuff forever! Thank you!
There is an enchanted battle axe in the hollowed-out stump on the north side of the lighthouse, you'll need to jump off the rocks against the lighthouse. Also a silver cup and 25 gold in the hollowed-out stump right in front of the lighthouse door, just walk off the deck into the stump.
After 10 years purchasing my original copy of Morrowind for the XboX and finishing the main quest. I decided to buy the Game of the Year edition from steam with better graphics. My first 2 playthroughs I did use cheats since I had no idea how to legit play the game and make money. Now since I learned about alchemy and custom spells the game really has become fun again which I thought wasnt possible. I always believed I never gave the game the proper shot it deserved because of using cheats and always felt guilty for not finishing all the quests. Even though Oblivion had the better quests and dungeons and in my opinion sense of immersion because of the story telling there is something unique about this game that makes me still spend many hours into it and it's the fact that out of all 3 elder scrolls games I've played it's the easiest to get lost in. Thank you for the video as it motivated me to jump back in to play this game.
Just a tip, you can pick up just he limeware plate and then pick up all the stuff afterwards and continue, there are no guards at the other positions so you're free to take anything you want there regardless.
what i liked to do was travel to suran, grab as many arrows, or magic potions as you can and head north east over the hill and stand on the rocks and kill. you'll get a really nice sword/ armor set and you'll get to grind some skills while you do it. another option is the dren plantation there is a dark elf who has a deadric dai katana, which you wont get in any trouble for killing.
You can use the murderers house to kill a dark brotherhood assassin and take his shit. Silver dagger is great for undead and the armour is light and hardy.
i usualy just sell the armor because its price is op for starting level. imo morrowind should be played with darkbrotherhood delayed mod because you are underleveled for tribunal dlc anyway.
If you want the warehouse key best way is to go to the other side of the table and take a napkin so he runs towards you. Once he takes the napkin from you run over take the key and you will have enough time to drop it before you takes it
You actually want to grab the warehouse key FIRST, before you grab anything in the census office, because then all you'll have to do is QUICKLY drop the key before Sellus engages you in convo, and you can pick it back up. I do this every time and it always works. Just gotta be quick.
The part of the video where your emptying the bookcase with the limeware platter, I noticed that you took two or three items ( including the platter) and not everything on the shelf. It is possible to empty everything out as long as you don't leave the building. You just have to move fast and press the menu key(button) fast enough to drop everything in time. You could empty out that hole room if you want too (if your fast enough on the keyboard or controller before the guard gets you). When stealing the warehouse key, All you need is invisibility (moonshadow birthsign) or to be sneaking and have his back turned towards you. In Rithleen's house there's a skill book "The Mirror" , to raise your block skill. You can't take it without getting expelled from the blades but it'll raise your block skill if you read it. Then afterwards close it. One thing that drives me nuts in this video, is when your in balmora you keep referring to certain things like the blades trainers and the sword of white woe as "exploits". These are not exploits, An exploit is when you abuse a flaw in gameplay for your own benefit. The sword of white woe is just a unique item the developers placed in a random spot, for rewarding a players curiousity. A little past the 26 minute mark, as your character was walking, you passed a dead dunmer on the side of the road with "tsyia's skooma pipe", which starts a freeform quest in balmora. Oh, and you called the netch glass dagger one of the "best swords".......tsk......tsk.
I've returned to morrowind after a decade and your video is exactly what I need. I'd also like to point out that the mage in the Seyda Neen cave kills the majority of new players. As a knight Imperial I can get wiped quick if I don't neck some flin and sujamma for 100 strength and one hit kill that s.o.b.
Nvm he covered it. -TIP- -Once you reach Balmora, go south down the odiar river until you reach a wood bridge, go left over the wood bridge and turn very slightly right.- -Walk forward until you find the vassir-didanat cave, go inside, and then exit immediately. (There are a lot of dangerous enemies inside.)- -After doing that, go back to Balmora and take the silt strider to Vivec.- -Once in Vivec go to the St. Olms canton plaza.- -You will find a Haunted manor in the southeastern corner, go inside.- -There is a Master's lockpick hidden under a table in the Southwestern corner of the room.- -Use the master's lockpick to open the locked door.- -Through that door you will find people, talk to Dram Bero.- -Tell him about the Vassir-Didanat mine.- -He will give a you daedric weapon of choice.-
I don't know if it has been commented yet, but the Merchant Mudcrab is a better alternative to the Scamp since it has 10000 gold rather than 5000. It takes a bit of work to get to. If you travel straight east from the Vivec Foreign Quarter across the water you should eventually come across a Dwemer ruin to your left and across from that right to your right (not that far from shore) is the tiny island where the Mudcrab is. For future convenience, you should buy a Potion of Mark from the potion lady in Balmora and the Amulet of Recall from the trader in Caldera. Once you reach the island, use the potion to mark the island, and then Almsivi or Divine intervention for an instant return to civilizaition when you're done on the island (Molag Mar for Almsivi and Ebonheart for Divine). A tip for selling particularly high value items like Daedric gear to the Mudcrab or for selling high value stuff to merchants in general is to buy out their inventory so they have enough to buy the item, then sell the lower value stuff back over time as their money regenerates. That is the easiest way to sell things without losing out on money.
I generally prefer to use Creeper for teleportation convenience and not having to travel a particular distance after using the Mark spell for something else. Creeper also buys a wider variety of wares than the mudcrab which is a big deal for more convenience. Everyone has their own preferences, but both have their pros and cons that matter to each player differently.
Take the limeware platter before you pick up your papers and the guard will not stop you. I would go back to the ancestral tomb to get the ring it will help you a lot.
A sure way to get the key is to grab the lantern on the wall and then run around the table, leading him away from the shelf. Then just do the grab-n-drop trick with the key. Having him chase you around the table always has given me enough time to grab the key.
It's an easy to miss line that you heard from Caius Cosades. Even if you notice it there's a bunch of other things you're trying to take in at the same time.
Old video, but I've noticed going into sneak before taking the warehouse key makes a big difference in success window, especially with it as a major or minor skill.
My strategy for a recently created altmer: Brew a lot of restore fatigue potions to make more hits Use bound weapon spells (bought bound spear from someone in the mages guild along with helm, gauntlets and boots)
Well here is a Pro Tip : You can clear out the first room of any items you want, including any and all items, if you grab them and right away go into your inventory to drop them. wait for the guard to walk over, yell at you, and then walk off. Then grab next item, rise and repeat, then pick up everything and close the door behind you. The easiest way to get the key in the other area with the gold armored guard is to get him to face the other way, this may take a few tries of entering and leaving the room, and then going as far behind the bookcase as possible, going into sneak mode, and then taking it. If your sneak isnt high enough, if you decided to choose the Invisibility sign power, use that. The building it opens up allows you to get a lot of early equipment, food, potions, and other random loot.
One problem with that though. Invisibility deactivates as you pick up the key so they will still see you picking it up and you'll get in trouble for it. The key will be confiscated. Better to come back with a chameleon spell.
It doesnt matter if you are in sneak, while being invisible, you grab the key sneaking invisible, and you will never get caught because as far as the game is concerned, you were stealthed (Sneak mode) the moment you grabbed the key. I have never gotten caught using this method, and I have restarted new characters more then the normal player lol
Another quick way to get gold, the third or fourth quest in the balmora mages guild has you place a fake soul gem. While doing that, swipe all the real gems. Carefully selling them over time to creeper will net you about 70,000.
best way to make worth of items with large price is to find a trainer who also barters different variety of items. you can spend lot of gold on training and then sell your items to him so you dont need to sell an item underpriced, because the gold you spent from training went into his inventory to barter with. just be carefull because vendor gold resets every 24 hours if i remeber correctly that way you can effectively "trade" your items for training
I never had the patience to figure Morrowind out on pc, OpenMorrowind(Microwave) for android allowed me to truly understand and appreciate this game, i thoroughly recommend it if you dont have much time for pc gaming
I made a character based on Marcus Aurelius. Imperial, thief sign, picked sneak, alchemy, short blade, light armor, and for minor I have enchant. Kinda forgot the rest of my skills, I believe illusion is in there
The first elder scrolls game I played was Oblivion. The thing that most immediately blew me away was the fact that I could look out across the horizon and know that I could walk over there and there would be people, places, enemies, and things to do.
@@David_Alvarez77 That still blows my mind to this day! Oblivion was really my first introduction into the RPG genre. I like Skyrim, but Oblivion was just different than Morrowind or Skyrim.
@@spacemonkey5470 I had played lots of jrpg's which I really enjoyed, but they were not the same sort of experience, even remotely. Oblivion made me realize what could possibly be done with amazing video game worlds.
@@David_Alvarez77 I absolutely agree, of course I dabbled with final fantasy and pokemon but it's like my whole life I had this dream of a 3d medieval fantasy rpg and oblivion plain blew me away my very first time playing. People that don't play these video games don't know the experiences they're missing out on. To this day I still remember my very first time playing and how I was just in awe
That. Was. AMAZING. Ive been playing this game for years and years and I knew about a lot of those tips but I never thought to put them all together like you did. Well done sir well done!
I know this game may look bad.. But how does it look so good? I am playing it on the original Xbox and the frame rate is super high inside the buildings. This game feels like if elder scrolls was slightly more like fallout3 or something idk the point is that this game is freaking beautiful.
These are good tips for beginners who want an easier time. But I don't really agree with some of them. I honestly feel that you should struggle your first time (and I mean really struggle), not because of a sense of superiority due to how hard it is, but because the initial struggle really immerses you in the roleplaying and you truly get a sense of the progression of power that you're character goes through. Morrowind is a lot more about the Roleplaying than the other games in the series. and that sense of "playing a role" seems to get lost a bit when you do something like steal everything in the guardhouse (unless if you are actively roleplaying as a kelpto-thief, in which case have fun). I don't know. Maybe I just hold different aspects of Morrowind in higher regard than most players.
I completely agree for all of those reasons. However most modern players today have a harder time with learning Morrowind's mechanics while dealing with the world hostility and are at risk of quitting early because they aren't used to what it expects from them. I'd hoped that in this way I could give new players just enough of a boost to be willing to tough out the harder expectations of the early game and continue playing long enough to learn about the story the game has to offer. I wish more people could tough out the early game just for the challenge and to satisfy their curiosity, but that's hard to expect from anyone these days now.
When I played the game for the FIRST TIME (back when it was relatively new) I remember picking every coin I could find out of every single crate, using stealth each time 'cause I was afraid I would get caught. I also remember being deathly afraid of going anywhere too far from a place I could safely recover and avoid dangerous encounters. It was a very lengthy process, and It just seemed like any other game back then so I struggled through! I might add that I had a LOT of free time on my hands back then :-} Recently, when re-starting with OpenMW. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to hit stuff even with good weapons, and looking right at the monster (rat?) in question...very annoying! I was almost ready to say "to heck with this game, it's too darn old anyways!", when I decided to look online for a bit of "inspiration" (lol). I have now been in the current playthrough for over two weeks, and I am having a blast once again (mostly due to "tips", like the ones in this video)! It isn't that we want it easy, but the game is aged, and when you have played for maybe thousands of hours of more modern games with (better?) combat physics, etc., it just seems like there is something "wrong" with a game like this! It is really hard to get into, and you really need to have the time to dedicate to it if you don't use tips like these... I can really understand people just up and quitting when they continuously swing their weapon at a monster without any significant result! And, it really takes a long time to progress to a point where a player can explore in relative comfort (that is, without riding on their last "septim" all the time, or getting their ass kicked without being able to defend themselves...)! So, however you slice it, a video like this will help those that need it, and those that don't won't need to worry about it, right? I didn't even KNOW about the Sword of White Woe on that cabinet before, and, if I HAD, I would probably have tried to get it! I am not a "sucker for punishment", and running back and forth from Vivec with books I stole from the Hall of Records to make a few drakes was very time consuming (to say the least...); my armor was crap, my weapon was crap, and I was often on the verge of boredom :-} I am very thankful that this gentleman took the time to prepare a very helpful video such as this! Thanks a bunch, man!!!
When I went into the Vassir Didanat Mine at level 7 there was a Flame Atronach to the right of the first rat I encountered, and it killed me. lol Just a heads up on that little surprise. Thanks for the tips. It has helped me a lot on my first time playing Morrowind.
I mean, just start with Conjuration and go to the Balmora Mages Guild and steal all the soul gems, then go to the Fighter's guild and pick up the short blade with the paralysis enchantment. Then sell the gems to Creeper, you'll have 10s of 1000s of gold within minutes. Spend it all on Short Blade training and the bound dagger you started with will cream everything you fight for most of the game. Anything gives you trouble just paralyze it first.
To fix missing attacks 1 be a red guard 2 select longblade as a major skill 3 use warrior birthing 4 steal soul gems from the mage guild in balmora or armor from the Manor in caldera where all the orcs live 5 sell it to the khajiit* it trader in Balmoral and buy yourself a daedric* enchanted weapon 6 congradulations you now have 60 long blade as long as bound longsword is equipped with a plus 10 bonus to attack. You will miss less and do more damage this only takes 10 minutes if your not new to this game.
Wait wtf. I've played this game like 20 times since 2004 and I've never, EVER even considered that Vodonius had a quest, or the hidden axe. What the ... Great video man. Glad I clicked to check your channel Edit: alright wtf is the problem with Bethesda and tree stumps. I'm gonna start checking all of them
Lusty Argonian Maid i played few playthroughts and in each i ventured to seyda need plenty of times and never got these quests... Like, how did he even knew all this?
+Hailey Matthews Nope, Todd Howard wasn't in control of Morrowind it was another person - which is why it was good. Todd Howard took control with Oblivion - which is why it was not good. Todd Howard games can be accurately described like this: _wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle_
+Hailey Matthews I never said he didn't have creative input. My assertion stands: when Todd Howard gained _creative control_ over the Elder Scrolls the games became shallow when compared to Morrowind
After you left Caldera(nw of) just as you changed seen is the lady that gives you the blinding boots of speed. Which is amazing if you play a Breton or make a spell to remove the debuff. Speed 200.. blind 100%...50% for Breton due to innate magic resistance.
In one of the Balmora towers there is a room with a bunch of good medium armour that the guards there wear, if you get telekinesis from one of the mage vendors and hide behind the wooden beam like you did with that sword you stole you can get heaps of good armour and weapons , and make some good money too
Denstagmer's Ring is THE shit to get early game. Get it in a tomb southeast of Gnisis. Get in that cave before you are lvl 4 and you'll have +30% resist against elemental damage (fire, frost and shock), and get the Mentor's Ring east of Seyda Neen, so you'll have the resistances AND a +10 boost to intelligence and Willpower, at level 1! Also, loot the fuck out of every crate you can find in Balmora (dunno if you covered this as I paused at 18 minutes), but there's good potions and even armor to be found in those crates. The first Argonian female you see in Balmora will cry about you stealing, but she doesn't alert the guards and it won't get you a bounty. Furthermore, steal ALL the Orcish gear in Ghorak Manor in Caldera, and sell it to the Creeper. Also, join the Mages Guild, find the mushrooms and flowers for the Khajiit, and then steal every soulgem from Galbedir's desk, and sell those to the Creeper as well. You'll have funky money at the start, especially when you have the Rich Creeper mod, which gives him 200.000 septims and buys stuff at 100% value.
Perhaps this video is more accurately considered a beginners fast start exploit guide rather than a beginner's tip guide. Many of the most important tips that would help a new player who is coming from Skyrim are not mentioned at all. Things such as the critical role of fatigue for everything including hit chance, persuasion, and magic casting etc. Or perhaps the use of the probe tools for disarming traps. Or the various methods of quasi fast travel such as the silt strider, mage guild guide, or boats. Or the tricks with efficient leveling if one wants to be more advanced. Or the racial bonuses and star sign bonuses and their usefulness in the beginning of the game. These things are really the main bar for new players having easy enjoyment of Morrowind, not a simple lack of an early three grand.
hey i just downloaded the game for free on its 25th anniversary. its the first time i played an elder scrolls game and these tips helped me alot. thanks.
biggest tip for new players is to use skill trainers. sure you could grind up your skills, but trainers can be used infinite times assuming you have enough money and the trainer has higher skill than you
Grab the limeware platter first, as its the only thing you need to drop and pick up before your spree of theft. Once you get in the room with the key, this is when you drop your inventory. Free Morrowind?!?! What are you talking about???
@@poofbomb-minecraftmore1883 the anniversary. They gave out free Morrowind for it
I got the game for $1 at a pawn shop. Been having extremely hard time getting started. Now I'm ready to kick butt confidently. Before even with steel armor the first bandit in that first cave destroyed me. Now I can handle myself.
PROTIP, KEEP FATIGUE FULL IT, AFFECTS EVERY SINGLE SKILL
This is the best tip of all for new players. Making alchemy one of your main skills is super-helpful to this end, because fatigue potions are really easy to make early on.
If you exit while doing the refill fatigue cheat it will automatically refill your bar constantly
I know that but i always jump when exploring... I cannot not to jump haha
you learn something new about morrowind everyday
Oceanrust4 Yeah, including the fact that scrib will paralyze you and then kill you
Beginner tips for Morrowind:
Step 1- Immediately become a murderhobo.
Step 2- Repeat step 1 as needed.
Thanks man.
May your roads lead you to warm sands.

Gah Julan, sera.
Just started morrowind and feeling a bit overwhelmed, this guide was to the point and did not feel like it was 30 min long, good job!
I've been playing for 52 hours with the same character and never went back to Seyda Neen to find all that stuff, thought it was just a simple beginning. I really love this game.
Years later and this is still the best guide for beginners I’ve ever found.
Why not just steal the limeware platter first and the stuff from the back room later? That way, you would only have to drop the limeware platter.
5:45
You should really wait until your fatigue comes back up. It makes a humongous difference in your bartering ability.
Thanks! I had no idea
Thanks 👍
Helpful even in 2018 and this guy made it as simple as possible.
Use this tree to break your fall because you don't want to break your legs...to say I chuckled would be an understatement

That wizard was the most random thing I have ever seen in a video game.
There's also a dude who lost his pants, and there's w quest that revolves around their retrieval
The god in this game chopped off someones penis and raped a princess with it, Trust me it gets better.
Space Chowder The wizard that falls out of the sky right in front of you and gives you a heart attack?
The most important tip, it's not a bug but a feature, so any "exploits" are fair play.
This just shows how much they reward the exploring and paying attention to the detail with all items hidden to the enviroment
I play it on Xbox 360 with a old Xbox game you can use button cheats and it makes the game fun If not how do you get more blue shit when you run out
The blue bar is your magicka.
Uhhh the game doesn't spoon feed you so you look up a guide on how to exploit it? You just wasted TESIII for yourself.
B52's really don't get me wrong but the quest markers are not a big deal from reading a quest lot or having the quest spoken to you in the end it's the same coming from someone who has played them all and love them all
Opening a journal to read southern country directions to find a cave is the most genuine Elder Scrolls experience.
Honestly, I look up your morrowind videos every time I start a new playthrough. These have now become essential to my morrowind gaming experience. Well done! ❤
Dude same. I copy exactly everything this guys does at least up until he talks to Caius Cosades every time I start a new Morrowind hame.
You can easily get a full set of orcish armor just by going to a daedric shrine
know what, I used the scrolls that give you mad hops, I survived the fall(landed in water) but I landed strait in the middle of two skeletons...who pretty much killed me instantly, so it still killed me lol
Never played this and I'm blessed to have xbox game pass so I can finally play this bad boy for free pretty much I've loved oblivion, skyrim and eso still wanna try arena and daggerfall
I've loved Skyrim, only got into my first oblivion gate when oblivion was took off game pass so now morrowind is here along with oblivion, I'm gonna go 3 through 5
SAME
Arena and Daggerfall are free in bethesda official page. if you want to try.
fun fact Creeper the scamp is actually Barbas the talking dog from Skyrim, a little Easter egg if you talk to Barbas he will mention that he has taken many forms over the years including "a scamp trading with orcs"
Iceman He was also the main character in the game red guard
That scamp breaks the game as a thieving character..
@@caiawlodarski5339 yeah
He didn't make it to Skyrim after I destroyed him with my spear!
He did mention this. He mentioned exactly this.
Don't forget Mephala's Quest (needs 2-3 Scroll of Ondusi's Unhinging) for the Ring of Khajiit. Can be done at level one, and you can get it rolling while you finish up the Vassir-Didanat Ebony Mine quest.
I like how in morrowind guards are actually strong and hard to kill, in Skyrim they’re like bandits
1. The bedroll in the first building (it has a tutorial message about sleep the first time) is the only place to sleep in the game that does NOT trigger the attack
2. kill the assassin (well you have to) and use or sell the (light) armor and dagger off him.
No. it affects the price you can sell things, not their disposition.

Morrowind is the gift that keeps on giving.
The old mechanics are absolutely dated, but if you can get past just that much it's a great game. Best of luck!
I'm not sure how these weren't clear in the video already.
Thanks for the helpful video! Now onwards to adventures of Morrowind...
great video! Morrowind is my favorite game ever.
Character creation is kindofan important part.
I only bought this Morrowind today but it already feels nostalgic
lol same feels weird
what i liked to do was travel to suran, grab as many arrows, or magic potions as you can and head north east over the hill and stand on the rocks and kill.
you'll get a really nice sword/ armor set and you'll get to grind some skills while you do it.
another option is the dren plantation there is a dark elf who has a deadric dai katana, which you wont get in any trouble for killing.
"Ah yes! We've been expecting you..."
I have played this game for the longest time, And I never knew about that axe in the stump..You learn something
new everyday.
Now you'll be checking all the stumps you come across every time you play. You're welcome. :D
When stealing the warehouse key,
All you need is invisibility (moonshadow birthsign) or to be sneaking and have his back turned towards you.
In Rithleen's house there's a skill book "The Mirror" , to raise your block skill. You can't take it without getting expelled from the blades but it'll raise your block skill if you read it. Then afterwards close it.
One thing that drives me nuts in this video,
is when your in balmora you keep referring to certain things like the blades trainers and the sword of white woe as "exploits".
4:10 if you choose the tower as your birthsign you can unlock it without stealing the key
-TIP-
-Once you reach Balmora, go south down the odiar river until you reach a wood bridge, go left over the wood bridge and turn very slightly right.-
-Walk forward until you find the vassir-didanat cave, go inside, and then exit immediately. (There are a lot of dangerous enemies inside.)-
-After doing that, go back to Balmora and take the silt strider to Vivec.-
-Once in Vivec go to the St. Olms canton plaza.-
-You will find a Haunted manor in the southeastern corner, go inside.-
-There is a Master's lockpick hidden under a table in the Southwestern corner of the room.-
-Use the master's lockpick to open the locked door.-
-Through that door you will find people, talk to Dram Bero.-
-Tell him about the Vassir-Didanat mine.-
-He will give a you daedric weapon of choice.-

I'm almost 30 and I'm playing through it for the 1st time. Pretty good so far.
Gilneths house is great for early free store after you kill him
Dude! Of course... The lighthouse! I always take as a house the shack of the guy who kills the taxman.... You've blowned my mind
That's an equally viable option as it comes with a bed but isn't quite as fancy as a lighthouse. :)

I liked the video for your excitement alone!
After 7 years playing Morrowind I never knew the blade trainers give you stuff. Thanks for this video.
It's an easy to miss line that you heard from Caius Cosades. Even if you notice it there's a bunch of other things you're trying to take in at the same time.
When you sell multiple items that cost 1gold do it 1 at a time then you get 1 gold for each instead of for an example 4 gold for 7
Old video, but I've noticed going into sneak before taking the warehouse key makes a big difference in success window, especially with it as a major or minor skill.
sneaking is very weird in morrowind.
i dont think its doable without chameleon spells
Thank god I thought you were gonna start showing us the build in the beginning and completely make me want to scrap my char but you didnt
My strategy for a recently created altmer:
Brew a lot of restore fatigue potions to make more hits
Use bound weapon spells (bought bound spear from someone in the mages guild along with helm, gauntlets and boots)
Grand information, Marsh-Friend. I'll use it well; May the river, for you, be clear and calm.
Gah Julan, sera.
Another quick way to get gold, the third or fourth quest in the balmora mages guild has you place a fake soul gem. While doing that, swipe all the real gems. Carefully selling them over time to creeper will net you about 70,000.
best way to make worth of items with large price is to find a trainer who also barters different variety of items.
you can spend lot of gold on training and then sell your items to him so you dont need to sell an item underpriced, because the gold you spent from training went into his inventory to barter with. just be carefull because vendor gold resets every 24 hours if i remeber correctly
that way you can effectively "trade" your items for training
There is actually a way to get daedric weapon very early
Damn how did i miss all this? Thanks for sharing, this helped me a lot
I never had the patience to figure Morrowind out on pc, OpenMorrowind(Microwave) for android allowed me to truly understand and appreciate this game, i thoroughly recommend it if you dont have much time for pc gaming

What's everyone's first TES game and what are some fond memories of your first time playing?
That. Was.
The game was made with heart, not with bloom effects. :)
It's even better on the Xbox one!
I recommend giving OpenMW a shot if you run into tech issues.
I just got Morrowind for the Xbox one. I did all of this 😇 thank you so much!
I just like to get gold so I steal everything and sell it to creeper. Especially killing the one perosn in the shop with the ebony darts
When I played the game for the FIRST TIME (back when it was relatively new) I remember picking every coin I could find out of every single crate, using stealth each time 'cause I was afraid I would get caught. I also remember being deathly afraid of going anywhere too far from a place I could safely recover and avoid dangerous encounters. It was a very lengthy process, and It just seemed like any other game back then so I struggled through! I might add that I had a LOT of free time on my hands back then :-}
Recently, when re-starting with OpenMW.
I didn't even KNOW about the Sword of White Woe on that cabinet before, and, if I HAD, I would probably have tried to get it! I am not a "sucker for punishment", and running back and forth from Vivec with books I stole from the Hall of Records to make a few drakes was very time consuming (to say the least...); my armor was crap, my weapon was crap, and I was often on the verge of boredom :-}
I am very thankful that this gentleman took the time to prepare a very helpful video such as this!
Damn, I want to reset my save now.
Glad I clicked to check your channel
Edit: alright wtf is the problem with Bethesda and tree stumps. I'm gonna start checking all of them
Lusty Argonian Maid i played few playthroughts and in each i ventured to seyda need plenty of times and never got these quests... Like, how did he even knew all this?
Edin743 He must have had Todd Howard over for dinner.
Sonpacho he was the executive producer and you can't tell me he didn't have a lot of creative input cause he did.
A much better start to the game than I've had in three tries. Thanks. Lesson: search everything.
I already love this game it just has so many quirky secrets to discover.
Take the silver viper blade (enchanted dagger (poison)) from one of the crates in front of balmoras mage guild, too!
