I watch a lot of these videos. This is one of the better ones I've seen. There's something about the simplicity and the honesty that makes it so much better than the rest. Good for you. Keep doing what you're doing. It's refreshing. Thank you.
As long as you're using a sled, you should consider taking several little starter logs already cut along with kindling, that way, you could get a fire going, seal up the tent while you're out cutting firewood, then you can come back to a warm tent.
It is good to see you again. For a while, I thought you had left TH-cam. Best wishes for another good winter with many videos to come. Take care and welcome back.
I'm not much of the quitter type lol just got busy with work and was away from home most of the summer and fall. I have lots of videos planned for the winter.
Great video kid, one of the best I've seen on the subject, enjoyed every bit of it. Congrat !!!! I could say educational. Showing everything there is to it and not bs too much. I really hope some clever sponsor sees the potential
Always a relaxing video from you and enjoyable to watch.. that bread looked delicious 😋 and must try your meal you made... wishing you and your family a safe and blessed Christmas 🎉🌲🐕❤
Hello neighbour from Thunder Bay,Ontario. Just came across your channel. Love this video. We do lots of hot tenting up here across the border as well and enjoy every outing. Cheers. Fred
I drive a '17 freightliner and even wonder sometimes about the number 1 jelling up. So far so good. What great fun again i have the spring creek saw also only a bit smaller and really like it! Im gonna order the pomolly dweller max 3 this week in stainless. thanks for having us along! I like to baton my survival knife too for the small stuff. :)
@coreyschultz7018 I should have topped off the tank with #1 fuel before heading out but didn't expect it to get so cold. The gelled fuel actually burnt up my lift pump too. Lesson Learned..
Diesel engines in the cold can be a bear to start. Looks like you took all the standard precautions with the diesel fuel treatment. The only thing left to worry about is the gas station you can the fuel at using the appropriate winter blend diesel fuel. What is the general location of where you camp?
I am usally camping in the Grand Rapids, MN area. The gas station had winter blend but it just wasn't enough for the temp drop that night. I should have topped the tank off with straight number 1 fuel. Lesson learned.
@steveolesen8033 I think it would fit if the stove was sideways because of the front exiting stove pipe on the caminus. It's such a heavy stove I usually only use it when truck or atv camping, so I bring the RBM UP 2 tent with it.

I appreciate that. I'm glad you found it refreshing.
Good camping, no frills

I always think like that. Why they do not bring some cut wood and fire starters to make it easier and more comfy.

Glad to have you aboard from Thunder Bay!

@S.W.OUTDOORS I have a 22 Sierra hd with the 6.6 gas and that one gets me nearvy. Keep lovin the great outdoors!
God all that work for 1 night. You must be camping crazy.
Its all part of the experience in the cold.
Wow very interesting I really enjoye ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Really great drone shots. May i ask which drone you use? Loving how clear they came out
@@ZukaraTheGame Thanks! I use a dji air 2s and shoot in 4k 24 fps for most shots.
👍🏻👍🏻
You used the ground sheet from your UP2...i wonder who gave you the idea to use that? Lol another awesome video thanks for sharing
@steveolesen8033 I was thinking about that the other day lol worked out good. The pomoly ground sheets have been out of stock for a while now.
@S.W.OUTDOORS if and when you do get the pomoly ground sheet I would recommend still using the up2 ground sheet for added warmth
I have a Savotta Hawu 4 and mean to do the same.

Do you preheat your drones or do they fly with no problems in this temperature?
@silvernatedogg When it gets below freezing, I put a few disposable handwarmers on my batteries before I use then or keep them near the woods stove.
Is this the saw you used?
Brand: Spring Creek Manufacturing
Tuff Camp Saw (30")
@holyfireoutdoors53 Yes, that is the one I used.
@@S.W.OUTDOORSthanks. Great video! Keep up the good work!
Question: with the stove jack placement in the pomoly tent is there enough room to use your caminus stove?
@steveolesen8033 I think it would fit if the stove was sideways because of the front exiting stove pipe on the caminus. It's such a heavy stove I usually only use it when truck or atv camping, so I bring the RBM UP 2 tent with it.
Am I the only person that had nearly as much commercial time as video
*guy lines
I can’t watch videos with ads every 2min. At the second ad I leave.
