      @@markhep there are about 3 types of this tool with a different primary tool, the leaf like you have, a cloverleaf type, can't remember the other one. The others are hard to find as new tools for the last couple of decades, footprint are one of the last manufacturers doing these.
      Always worth keeping an eye out on places like boot sales and flea markets where old tools are sold.
      The leaf was always the most popular and useful of the designs.

    I have always called that a SMALL TOOL. Never used it for brickwork, only for plastering work tidying up fine things like large ornamental cove cornice internals and externals, and sometimes applying filler to timber details. It’s a useful tool but not sure how it could be used for brickwork.

    I am a mason in the US and focus mainly on chimneys, we would have taken that chimney down to the roof and rebuilt it with new brick. I’m just curious as to why you chose to do a pointing job on it when it looks in rough shape. Not trying to be rude, just curious, I realize you folks have been fixing brick long before us.

    • @markhep
      @markhep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate. Yes we don't really re build them unless they are literally falling over. Just because it costs a lot more to Re build. And we probably don't get the weather you do. Usley Repointing it lasts around 20 years. So they go for the cheaper option lol👍👍👍
