Very nice review. Was eyeballing this but torn between the RX or the NX. Nice sound system test, T-Mass and Lost Sky sound sublime with that system lol. I instantly perked up as I love those tracks!

Engineering background here. One of my favorite things to do is review cars and SUV's I can't afford. At least my friend onws a Lexus Dealership and I get to test drive them for 6 months, and write a review. I love the exterior and the 309 HP plus 30 combined MPG. Unfortunately I don't like the price and the interior. Price for these guys with a few basic options could be about $60,000 and Lexus doesn't have a horrible interior but kit's not a Mercedes or a Cadillac. The one thing I love about this is you can put 87 gas

Great review! I have exactly the same RX350 (2021) with same trim and same color. It's great for long trips with family because of the comfort and space. Personally I think it will be even better with a little bit more power and sharper handling. I hope the next generation RX can improve on those, then I would not hesistate to get a new one.

My 2004 RX 330 is really dated but I love it. 33,555 on it. Put in a backup cam and a new head unit. Awesome!

I think you should trade your 2004 RX350 with a 2023 Lexus RX350h.
It's got all the tech I'll ever need. I don't use infotainment that often, I mostly just use my phone on a vent clip.
looks good, drives good, it´s reliable and it´s affordable for a premium brand, not bad.
Firsf Gen RX are available very clean and reliable for $4-5k rust free here in Texas. Seems like a slam dunk for a comfy beater. But I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’ve never driven one but it screams vanilla louder than a Prius to me. On paper they seem like a great buy.
Currently in a 2022 RX350 loaner and now, I get it. There’s something charming about vanilla. And agree, the older ones, today, are good values.

My Dad loves his RX but as someone who personally owns the RC 350, with more power...I cant wait for Lexus to replace this with something that makes more power. Otherwise I'm Lexus all the way!

When i put my Gen4 is Sport+ its like a magic trick. I swear a turbo just appears out of nowhere. My throttle becomes EXTREMELY responsive and the rx just seems to leap forward, seriously...

I test drove a Rx350 F Sport that had 25000 kilometres, and the seats had soft edges.
I was disappointed that my F Sport seats had hard edges. I have the heated seats as an option, and at 6000K The seat edges have softened.

Imo, all Lexus 350 AWD F Sports (in all flavors: LS, IS, ES, RC, GS) are all overpriced at $53K+ considering the Lexus IS 500 RWD is only $57K, the Acura TLX Type S is $54K, the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 is $56K, and the Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige costs $53K.
Kinda silly comparing a RX to an IS. Absolutely no one is cross shopping those.
As far as the Genesis, that thing looks like something Chrysler would come up with. It’s styling is just a mish mash of multiple different vehicles. Lazy.

I own a RX350 sport since 2016 , everything is good but road noise and wind noise is too much on this vehicle,my only complaint , not sure about newer ones .

Would you rather buy an upper/top trim Mazda CX-50 or a Lexus RX350?

CX5 has a better reliability.
No data for CX 50, 70, or 90 for a while. Cx5 is made &assembled in Japan, while CX 50 is the first out of Alabama - hopefully they'll keep up the quality.

I would hands down take the RX over the CX50. More comfortable seats, softer ride, superior audio system and a quieter interior. However, I would definitely get the CX60 ( or CX70 for the U.S) over this RX. The CX60 is the best looking Mazda suv to date in my opinion
Totally different buyers. The RX is slightly larger and realistically starts at $50,000; $6,000 more than even the most maxed out CX-50. Not to take away from how great the CX-50 is, but I doubt those two will realistically be cross-shopped. The RX buyer will have no problem paying for the extra refinement, badge prestige, and dealership experience they demand/want.
I think a Japanese car quite attention to a passenger , i'd ever driven this car for 2 yrs. ago ,it's really good handling and comfy
If you want Handling/Performance I would go Acura RDX with SH-AWD it just eats up windy roads. The other options for the RX are better you get a plush ride the sporty suspension does help but then again its a boat going around bends so I would pick just the appearance over suspension upgrade.
I live in a section of the Blue Ridge Mtns that motorcycles come through for all of the curves and scenery and have no problems that you suggest in Sport mode. The vehicle lowers closer to the ground to handle the corners better and as a passenger, you feel like you’re sitting upright on a straightaway. We like our 2017 so much that we bought a 2022.

I've driven the 2018 RX350 F-Sport, I do enjoy driving it but it doesn't have the same 3.5L pep that the GS350 F-Sport has. It looks like 22's are more rounded, I'm not sure if i'm a fan.

Yah, it’s nice but it’s time for change. Hopefully they unveil the next generation in the summer or fall and in dealerships in the fall or winter. With shortages, it’s hard to say when.

Why buy this when you can get the 2022 NX350 (275hp- 22 city/29hwy turbo 4) with all new tech for basically the same price? serious question, as they look almost identical!
Try getting an NX for MSRP.
Nowadays everything is being replaced by 4 Cylinders with turbos or 4 Cylinders with electric motors some people actually want to have the smooth V6 plus the RX is more roomier.
Like they said. I haven't driven the new NX or even the previous NX but from what I read even the new NX lacks the refinement of RX. Besides, RX is a midsize SUV while NX is compact so the size is different. You cannot really compare them without thinking about the size difference. I'd love to see how the new RX turned to be though.

@@vn8162 lmao Lexus too expensive? I’ll remember that comment each time I drive my Q5 to work. Both my parents have Lexus’ and they’re nothing special. Their driving dynamics are lackluster and infotainment systems are horrendous. Like I said before, the MDX is an infinitely better car.
