He also has immense physical strength without sunshine so sunshine is even stronger then it is normally. So id say base sunshine, Mael is stronger, but escanor a better user since I don't think we've seen mael use Cruel sun or any of escanors ability. He just uses it as a form or brute strength. Escanor has The One: Ultimate which i don't think mael has since angels are near immortal. They can live For insanely long times, so even if mael could use it, it wouldn't be as strong as escanors but he'd be able to use it longer. So mael is the stronger user base sunshine, but escanor is the better one. And escanor becomes the stronger one with his the one Ultimate. So you are technically right. I don't even know why I wrote this.

I specifically say physically because mentally he's strong since he was able to throw off Gowther's abilities without Sunshine. Someone like Ban who has more power for a human would keep being destroyed if he tried to use it because the power after Sunshine multiplies it would be too much for him. So basically Escanor's base power is just weak enough that Sunshine didn't kill him instantly when it multiplied it. Course we have no confirmation for why he can handle it, that's just what makes sense to me.

Is and always will be my favorite character of the series. The love he had and maintained for Merlin felt like nothing short of a Shakespearean tragedy to me.
And I thought that Meliodas’ and Elizabeth’s love story was tragic. Escanor is a true man. He writes poetry, he loves his friends and he never tells the love of his life that he loves her. He only keeps it inside and respects her decision, knowing she couldn’t reciprocate.

to be honest though that was the Super Extreme Goal because until he Join the Seven Deadly Sins that was a Dream that would never happen to him, as such when it did it was like Dream of Paradise and one that was asunder when they were framed, and years later they came back together.....

What was done to Escanor,specially in the last arc, was terrible. BEST character on the series,the only one who GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for his efforts only one who actually paid the price. Powerless,dying,unable get the love of his life to at least look at him with ANY other feeling besides pity,because all women on T7DS HAVE TO LOVE Meliodas.
That was meant to be the end of his arc, to give up his pride to someone who could use it better than himself and then give his life for his friends, to overcome the sin of pride

If Escanor was a true villain with absolute menace energy, he would be the overlord of Black Airforce energy. He'd outclass Freiza, Tanya, Allucard and Roberta combined if he was truly evil. If he had the mentality of Tanya, he'd have his own, personal Black 3.0 Air Force energy ("Black 3.0" being the darkest black to exist, absorbing 98-99% of visible light).
Imagine having the ability to subconsciously turn people to stone if they lie and you got a dude in front of you and he says "I'm at the pinnacle of all races" and not turn the stone.
Escanor is the best character in the entire series, he made me excited to see the next season because I love it when he one-shots demons. But, then they nerfed him, and finally kill him in the weakest way possible; it wasn't even at the end of the series, he's gone and yet the show continues, despite them being short 1 Sin. It just killed my interest in the series; I didn't bother finishing S4, Idc if there is a final season, SDS is dead to me. Escanor deserved better. If he had to die, then let his death be like Spock's from Wrath of Khan: an epic sacrifice only he could do, his actions not only saving everyone, but somehow reviving Arthur and help him to the throne the way Merlin wanted, and leaves the door open for a possible return. Instead, we get something like Kirk's death from Generations: a pointless end for a great hero, because the MC was too much a of punk to defeat the villain on his own. Yeah, that's right Meliodas fans, I called him a punk!

I got recommended this anime by a friend and I don’t usually watch a lot of it, but this one got my attention. When the new episodes came out it really almost made me cry since escanor really is just a beast even without his powers

It’s hard to watch all this happening again now that I know that Merlin is literally playing all of them and using them for her own plan to accomplish her own goals, and uses Escanor the most and takes total advantage of his feelings for her. Pretty sure she did it on purpose after he told her she reminds him of the woman that saved him and that he fell in love with. She is such a piece of filth, then even after they are understanding and forgive her she continues to lie knowing what her savior will bring upon the world.
Escanor is hands down, one of the most theatrically memorable characters in anime, on account of dialogue as a show of power. Definitely up there with the likes of Madara, Kenshiro, Vegeta, Sanji, and Lelouche. Not necessarily the strongest in-universe, but the one that sticks in your head the longest (in Kenshiro's case, yeah, he would be the strongest.)

I got recommended this anime by a friend and I don’t usually watch a lot of it, but this one got my attention.
When the new episodes came out it really almost made me cry since escanor really is just a beast even without his powers

It’s hard to watch all this happening again now that I know that Merlin is literally playing all of them and using them for her own plan to accomplish her own goals, and uses Escanor the most and takes total advantage of his feelings for her. Pretty sure she did it on purpose after he told her she reminds him of the woman that saved him and that he fell in love with. She is such a piece of filth, then even after they are understanding and forgive her she continues to lie knowing what her savior will bring upon the world.

Escanor is hands down, one of the most theatrically memorable characters in anime, on account of dialogue as a show of power. Definitely up there with the likes of Madara, Kenshiro, Vegeta, Sanji, and Lelouche. Not necessarily the strongest in-universe, but the one that sticks in your head the longest (in Kenshiro's case, yeah, he would be the strongest.)
