$30K price range is all they need to nail. Waiting for this one in Indonesia. Edit: Extra appreciation to you for diving into deep detail even down to that hidden SD card slot! 👏🏻
Small battery pack though at that price, short driving range&slow for a 2025 model year ev charging speeds due to 400v charging. Basically a city car in basic trim. Not much better than a 2023 chevbolt euv was. Bet like the much ballyhooed ex30 the decent spec loaded awd ones will all be in the 40-45k price range. Esp outside of Korea. I also bet the real world driving ranges aren't as good as Kia claims either. But more affordable ev options are needed so good luck Kia! 🤔
Thank you for NOT showing the just the GT-Line, as most do. My family all own Kia's and we are looking at the EV3 and EV9. Keep up the the great reviews!!!
Thanks for the deep dive, man! Proud 2nd Gen Soul owner here- and I’m really excited to make the leap to electric in a few years with one of these babies!
Best review so far. As for colors, the Kia website shows 3 colors: sea foam green-almost white, rust orange and grayish blue. if you want that rental vehicle look, the non-colors are hearse black, battleship gray, and 3 shades of refrigerator white.
A GT variant will likely have it according to reports. The also made mention that the US version (made in US or most likely Monterra Mexico) will have different equipment or trims compared to the ones from Korean and elsewhere. Also that fact that it will be made locally the prices will be amazing.
@@Carfan678 That was my understanding, but it’s good to have it confirmed. My point was really about my hope that they come out with AWD. I think it will sell well as I don’t think there is much competition for a small AWD, especially with the battery size of the EV 3. I think the Volvo EX 30 will be similar in size, but it probably more expensive and more minimalist and has a smaller battery. What I’d really like is an EV 5 but I know that’s not supposed to come any time soon. It will probably do well either way as it I think buyers will like the boxy shape and styling, as long as the price is appropriate.
@@Molishious From a Germans point of view i agree. AWD (or RWD) is a must have. I´m driving an eSoul64 at the moment and will never buy a FWD BEV again. So if Kia doesn´t offer an AWD/RWD, i will choose EX30, #1 or ZeekrX.

After 7 years of driving a BMW i3, I sold it and leased an Ioniq 5. Although the Ioniq 5 is an amazing vehicle, and I’ve been spoiled by driving it, it’s more EV than I need. I miss the size and sportiness of the BMW. The BMW i3 was the perfect size for an around town EV. My lease is up in early 2026. I hope this is available by then.
@@JohnSmith-uz3dt I've had my i3 for 7 years also, and while it's got some serious flaws, there's nothing else quite like it -- my favorite car ever. I don't expect to ever find another EV to fully replace it, but the EV3, Volvo EX30, and Mini Aceman are on my shortlist.
The EV3 was clearly inspired by the i3. From the back quarter window to the rear it's especially obvious. I love my i3, but at 10 years old now, it's starting to have range issues. I'd love to hold out for this to sell in the US, but I'm not sure I can wait that long unfortunately.
As much as I really wanted to cover that very car, it was boiling hot that day. Maybe I get to meet the car at mobility show I will cover the car once again.

Finally got to the EV Unplugged Ground today. The EV3 is amazing. Looks better in person. We spent about an hour poking around it. Very popular, too, there were a lot of lunchtime visitors. Definitely at the top of our buy list.
@@CarSceneKorea that's okay. I'm happy to give KIA a few months to work out the initial production bugs that you know are going to occur. Did you get to the EV3 tech show? I've seen other reviews on TH-cam but not from you. Kia really put their heart into this car. If you were ordering one which model and what options would you select? Just curious, I already made my choices when I ordered.
Demo the huge monitor, front seat features, second row and rear lift gate! The EV3 is spacious for a 2m man! I look forward to test-driving the EV3 GT!
@@CarSceneKorea Thank you, look's like engineers forgot to deliver amazing solution for EV 3 fold front seats. It's a pity that auto makers focusing only on SUV's. Missing affordable estate EV cars.

I don't like the look of the Kona. This EV3 looks so much better to me. Very good space with a length of only 4.30m. I saw the EV9 in person. It almost scared me... I hope the AWD will not impact the boot space.
There seems to be polarization in how people prefer the looks of equivalent Hyundais or Kias. A lot of people liked the look of the Ioniq 5, but I think the EV6 looks way better, so I got that.
Apart from the actual road test. I do hope they got the memo to tone down the stupid safety tech! Like false readings on the speed limit and driver's attention, both are very annoying on newer cars!
Perhaps the EV6 and IONIQ 5 that's been running around for years could be the proof? There are many cars that clocked over 100,000 km+ here in Korea running w/o a single issue.
Thank you so much! Your insights are very helpful! I currently drive a 2021 e-Niro but the lease runs out at the end of this year, and I am contemplating what car to get next. The EV3 and the EV4 are currently my favourites (the EV4 even more than the EV3).
Sorry, asked my question right at the start of the video, so hopefully this isn't already covered... The car is on the E-GMP 400v architecture, right? Can you get a bidirectional charger in Korea? Assuming yes, how much is it?? Thx
The wife and I are going to the EV Unplugged Ground on Friday to check it out in person. Very excited based on your thorough review and video. When will KIA finally allow test driving?
I cannot recall those two cars atm, but being able to tuck my feet underneath the driver seat felt like I have a HUGE leg room. You know what I mean if you've been there 😉
Great video thanks. I'm in the UK and have a dog. What is your view of boot size for a medium size dog. Currently we have a 2019 Kona ev and boot rather small.
Won’t be much different, but the biggest downside will be the tiny rear glass compared to Kona. If you have your doggo sitting on the second row, it tilts a lot, windows go down all the way, quite roomy for the cars segment I’d say.
Missed opportunity with the tape measure handy. I would have loved to see those trunk measurements, particularly the width for a golf club compatibility check. Hopefully you can grab that whenever you get to see the K4. Both are strong competitors for my next vehicle.
The precise trunk size was released by Kia, which I didn't find the chance to insert on my video. Well, that's what I will be measuring in a few days then :)
If the canadian version can have the same perks that you guys do, this will be huge! If not, hopefully they can keep the price at around 42 000$-50 000$. Thanks for the video! Easily the most complete one that exists on TH-cam for this great looking car. Looking forward to your test drive!
You missed a great opportunity to show us the "Multimedia" section that have Netflix, TH-cam etc... We need to know more about that section and if it will be an update for KIA EV9?
I tried, but I couldn't open anything up because it wasn't activated (signed in). I sure do want to try it out on a test drive, hopefully it will also be updated via OTA for EV9 as well.
Good video. You were killing me with the company name (Kia / Gia) All I could think of is the interview scene from the movie "Brothers"......."Are you saying Pan? or Pam?"
for the range it is wonder since i can do 512 km with my 2021 Soul EV limited 200 hp and 64.8 kw/h batt that what the algorimt tell me about my city driving in summer!
@@CarSceneKorea I am surprised that even the cheapest model has a heat pump. Who knows what they put into the 4WD and GT versions :) This car is going to beat all competition here in Europe. Especially if EU will up the import taxes for Chinese vehicles. Subscribed to your channel, cant wait to see a test drive and real range test!
Where are the switches for the Rear heated seats? Shouldn’t be on the vertical strip applied to the rear doors? Like they are in the front? I don’t believe they are not offered on the GT line….
Does the EV3 have a spare wheel? I didn’t see it in your video. If not, what does Kia expect the driver to do if they get a flat tyre? It seems like a deal breaker if it doesn’t have a spare wheel.
It’s been a while since Korean spec models did not get a spare tire in the trunk. However, depending on the market there certainly will be and are spare tires.
Hi, nice look at the ev3. I love Kia’s design language these days. I live in Korea and look forward to seeing these on the roads here. Can you tell me how much the non GT line car is here in Korea?

That'd vary depending on a market to another, your local dealer should have the answer to that.
Would you say the second-row legroom is larger (or about the same as) Niro or Kona? It seems obviously smaller than Tucson or Sportage.
I cannot recall those two cars atm, but being able to tuck my feet underneath the driver seat felt like I have a HUGE leg room. You know what I mean if you've been there 😉
Can you list the differences between the top level non GT-Line and GT Line trims?
If I get a chance, I will come up with a video on it.
Greetings from Turkiye 🇹🇷. You are wonderful.
Thank you! 😃
Is the sunroof on the base model EV-3? Or is it only on the GT-line?
Available on regular EV3, not sure about the base trim though. These will vary on a market to another.
If the canadian version can have the same perks that you guys do, this will be huge! If not, hopefully they can keep the price at around 42 000$-50 000$. Thanks for the video! Easily the most complete one that exists on TH-cam for this great looking car. Looking forward to your test drive!
Coming up asap!
Love it!!!!
Bonjour ce véhicule m’intéresse vraiment . . vivement son arrivée en France. . merci pour le partage
Merci d'avoir regardé en France !
Thanks for watching in France!
I want one... when is it hitting the US Market?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Is blind spot monitoring availabe for the car?
Yep :)
Good video. You were killing me with the company name (Kia / Gia) All I could think of is the interview scene from the movie "Brothers"......."Are you saying Pan? or Pam?"
Ghia is Korean pronunciation of Kia. I intend on pronouncing Korean brand names in Korean way 😉
for the range it is wonder since i can do 512 km with my 2021 Soul EV limited 200 hp and 64.8 kw/h batt that what the algorimt tell me about my city driving in summer!
Wonder if there will also be a small fridge in the middle console as an option. Such an unique feature.
I doubt that given its segment.
@@CarSceneKorea I am surprised that even the cheapest model has a heat pump. Who knows what they put into the 4WD and GT versions :)
This car is going to beat all competition here in Europe. Especially if EU will up the import taxes for Chinese vehicles. Subscribed to your channel, cant wait to see a test drive and real range test!
@@Cyril_H Will deliver asap!
Great review! Do you know if the store like TikTok will come to the current EV’s as an update? Or any insight?
Not quite getting the question here since I don't use TikTok.
Where is V2L Inside the vehicle? and is it in standard model as well?
V2L available inside, the option will depend on the market.
Can you control the ac via phone? Meaning can you make this car warm up or cool before you enter the car?
Yes, you can do that with all latest Kia cars using Kia Connect.
The availability of the service might differ depending on the country/market though.
I can see a lot of 23+ Sportage owners, like myself, wanting the EV3. I really really like it.
And a lot more, count me in! 😎
Really nice KIA👍👍👍
Glad you like it! 👍
could you find out what is the turning circle? thanks
Great review! When do you get your hands on the EV5?
It is not yet released here in Korea. I will do so as soon as possible.
Where are the switches for the Rear heated seats? Shouldn’t be on the vertical strip applied to the rear doors? Like they are in the front? I don’t believe they are not offered on the GT line….
Weren’t they? Let me watch the video again.
Very thorough and an exciting car to finally hit the market. Would love something similar on the EV5 if you can get inside one.
Not available in Korea atm, but will cover it asap!
Does the car have double-pane glass on the side windows like a Tesla? I'm curious how good the sound insulation is.
Yes for first row windows.
The car looks absolutely gorgeous. I ended up getting Ioniq 6 recently, but i want to know if switching to Kia EV3 would be worth a trade one day.
If you are okay with an EV sedan, I'd keep the IONIQ 6.
Hi, nice look at the ev3. I love Kia’s design language these days. I live in Korea and look forward to seeing these on the roads here. Can you tell me how much the non GT line car is here in Korea?
From 3,290만원(standard model) to 4,085만원(long range model) including the subsidy based on Seoul standard. However it is without any additional options.
@@CarSceneKorea thanks for the reply!
