This country will not be a paradise if it were populated by western ideas and modes of living. Such as built up council estates and tarmac roads breaking into the beautiful valleys. You are happily experiencing a land lost in time preserve it for the times you and your friend need a restful change from the rat race😀

I like Luke Damant, but he’s a typical Americanised Australian kid finding his way; Mac Candee is overall pleasing, and then Harry Jaggaard who is developing his style too. Yes, it was a special place. I wish I would have stayed longer there. The owners of the guesthouse also own the tea plantation and factory there. I need to go back and visit that.

I was watching this video and then I was looking online for places to stay around here before I knew that you where staying at safari lodge and I saw it online and said man this is a nice place to stay then you showed up
You're such a good human. Yes lot of srilankan friendly and they have nice smile always 😍 ... Ohh yass you have strong legs😜 but some times try to use tuk tuk ride it's good experience to your journey and make sure normally 1km 60 - 80 LKR tuk tuk ride out of colombo in colombo 50 - 70Lkr per km👍

Hi Dale loved you video looking forward to watch your other videos i was supposed to have spent 3 weeks there in May days after the troubles, i have just found out that the government have lifted there ban so will be planning my trip so i can see this amazing place myself but before i do will watch all your videos to see the place through your blogs Thanks Dale
There wasn't a ban, just a travel warning advising people not to go. I was there before and after Easter and the only difference after is there's less tourists and the 5 star hotels have excellent security with every bag being scanned. You'll have a safe and relaxing trip.
Hi Dale I would have travelled but my insurance company would not insure me and my money was all tied up i am still waiting for my air fare the company i got it from are still waiting for Sri Lanka airline to refund them so then can refund me, i know the country will be safe now so hopefully be there next year can't wait as it will be my first time solo i really admire you for travelling on your own wish i had the courage years ago so i am 52 and think sod it just go for it 🤣 x

I prefer to just take a wee backpack and travel around rather than stay in one place as a base and do day trips. If you have any more luggage than that it would definitely be a pain having to move it around every day or two.
