I learned this trick from my mom when I was little; because I found a sterling silver ring in the river behind my grandmother's house. Brought back memories. Thanks for the reminder ❤
Once you started I remembered (almost 60 yrs ago) my Mom doing this with a roaster and our silver cutlery and tea things - thanks for the reminder and the memories. I'm happy you're branching out - you are keeping it interesting. Have a wonderful week.
I have been doing the baking soda thing for years and years, but I also worked in retail jewelry for many years.... love these off the beaten path videos, and love the extra tips! Thank you Sharalee
Oh my goodness wanted to watch one more video before calling it a day. It’s almost midnight Such a neat way to clean sterling silver jewelry never heard of this. Wow !!! I have a lot of my jewelry in closed compartment type containers or boxes sort of like you showed in this video. I love Kendra Scott jewelry I have a lot of her pieces (I’m running out of room) haha so these containers really are wonderful. I have some open compartment plastic boxes also but your idea of closed boxes gets 👍. Thanks for all your tips. You are the expert in so many projects oh my goodness. I always learn new things from you. Good night 💤
I wish I could have seen this video before buying my silver jewelry cleaner! 😂 Thank you for the great tips, very handy!! Are you going to do some kind of “shop my stash” videos? It would be a fun series! 😊🫶🏻❤️
Well, maybe this will prove useful after you run out of your cleaner😍 Yes, I definitely will do some "shop my stash" videos...I practically have a whole Sephora right in my beauty room so I have lots of options😆😘
Hey Sharalee! Thanks so much for this wonderful video! I will definitely be doing this from now on. Aren’t you also supposed to store sterling silver in a dark place? That was written on a card with some earrings I purchased years ago. I’ve always done that. Happy weekend!❤
Great ideas! Your eye shadow looks so pretty. Have you used the Essence primer Mascara. I bought some my eye was very unhappy with it. Thanks Sharalee Jennifer 😊
The silver cleaning method was so simple. I will be trying it! My other problem is that I get makeup on most of my jewelry. And yes I forget to clean it. But is there a good way to clean every day jewelry that you would recommend? Thanks so much!
I'm so glad you found this helpful and are inspired to try it! I always found using just a few drops of dawn dish soap and warm water to be a great solution to help clean everyday jewelry. I let it sit for just a minute or so and then use a soft kids toothbrush to clean any makeup, hairspray, lotion, etc that might be stuck in the crevices. Just be sure to dry it thoroughly🥰
Just a little caution…Please follow directions given at purchase on certain pieces of sterling silver jewelry. Jewelry from David Yurman, John Hardy, Ippolita to name a few come with special instructions. Some even include a special polishing cloth. If you use a cleaner, you will damage the finish on the pieces. You have not ruined the piece and the finish can be restored by a professional jeweler or the original designer company.
@@rebeccachiveral8895 The answer to BRIGHTON JEWELRY!!! Do NOT use this on your BRIGHTON jewelry nor your James Avery jewelry! It’s not the same. Just use a silver polishing cloth ONLY!!

Isn’t it amazing how much our moms teach us! Love this story!🥰
Thank you, what a perfect snow day task 😊

Windex and Dawn dishwashing liquid in a bit of hot water works just as good.
Great video! I need to get some things put in different containers.

Hello beautiful Sharalee 😍
Will this work with rings that have diamonds in them?
Very helpful. Thank You! ❤😊
You're welcome! 💖
Great ideas! Your eye shadow looks so pretty.
Have you used the Essence primer Mascara.
I bought some my eye was very unhappy with it.
Thanks Sharalee Jennifer 😊
Yes, I have tried the Essence Lash Princess primer with the green cap and didn't like it either😆 L'Oréal Voluminous Primer is way better!
@SharaleesBoxOfChocolate Thanks Sharalee. I had eye irritation but it could have just been me. Thanks Jennifer 😁
Use the foil but instead of baking soda use white vinegar and salt in the foil lined pan ,

Do you know if this works on Brighton pieces? I have so many that I don’t wear because of dullness/tarnish.
I have Brighton pieces too, be careful cleaning them; some have a clear coating that will come off
@@rebeccachiveral8895 The answer to BRIGHTON JEWELRY!!! Do NOT use this on your BRIGHTON jewelry nor your James Avery jewelry! It’s not the same. Just use a silver polishing cloth ONLY!!
DO NOT use this method on your BRIGHTON jewelry!! Just use a polishing cloth!!! BRIGHTON jewelry is NOT recommended for this procedure.
Brighton jewelry is SILVER PLATED NOT STERLING SILVER!!! A simple DRY cloth is all you need!
I actually don't own any Brighton pieces so I will defer to those that do😘
I wonder if this trick would work on a sterling silver tea service? Its quite a chore to polish.
I don't see why not....definitely would be worth a try!😘
and this is not for costume jewelry right?
How did you know I'm struggling with cleaning my jewellery?
Are you spying on me😃
😆😘
Great tip. Thank you.
