Track bikes are the reason I fell in love with cycling (and subsequently worked at a local shop during my teenage years). The crisp lines and the simplicity are like nothing else in the cycling world. This makes me want to break out my old track bike a ride it hard like I used to. Thank you, keep up the excellent work!
I fell in love with track bikes as a 9 year old BMX rider. I would see them in the catalogues and just stare and drool for hours. The sleek lines and ultra clean look captured me.
Just in there this afternoon having the surgeon installing the fork and headset. A true craftsman of his job, I love talking and chatting with this dude.
Damn this is how and should be the way of building a bike no rushing of things when tightening just smoothly and most importantly everything got grease ❤️🔥 Lit the most attention to detail bike build I've ever watch on YT
I'm in the automotive industry and I can tell right away from the Snap On toolbox and digital torque wrench that this guy is no regular bike mechanic. He's using the top of the line tools, so I know he takes his craft very serious.
Polished aluminum… my eyes just rolled back in my head. The only thing I would have done differently, is putting a twist in the toe strap once you inserted it into the pedal, keeps the buckle in the same place when tightening. Beautiful head to toe!
two outtakes which i haven’t come across in the comments: 1) clever idea to mark different sized hex wrenches with different colored electric heat shrinks 2) crazy offset on that seat post
Whats the name of that white grease you put everywhere? and whats that brown/gold stuff you put on crank dust caps? thanks Beautiful and satisfying video btw.
Can i ask? Why do I have the same headset style as yours but I don't use a quill stem. I have modern stem on my bike but my headset is like yours. And I have a long bolt screw under my top cap. Can I change my top cap without having any problems?
First of all amazing video and build. I have a noob question: As far as I know, you are not supposed to grease the bottom bracket spindle which goes into the crankset. Wouldn't the added lubrication force the spindle deeper into the crank?
Never had an issue with any square tapered bb's and crankset combos where I greased the spindles. Sugino 75's, however, are a different story. The reason for S75's being notorious for seizing is because people use either standard or NJS/JIS tapered bb's with them. S75 has it's own taper, which is why Sugino sells bb's specific to 75s.
Can I ask what is the price of a fixie bike... Because in my next f2f school year I am trying to buy a fixie bike using only my school money/money lunch because I really wanted to buy a fixie bike for better experience.... (It's my first time please respect my comment 😊)
I just finished building my own vintage steel track bike, I would highly recommend polishing those hazy aluminum parts to mirror finish, it really makes these bikes look like true art pieces, really nice build nonetheless

Totally agree. They are something pure essence of cycling. Sadly I've got it only with time and experience with different types of bikes.

Seen hundreds of build videos first time seeing someone torque everything to spec. ❤
There is absolutely no need to torque anything on a bike like this if you have some experience with bike building though.
The most relaxing and captivating tea break-break absorbing this, thank you for posting this beautiful film.

There is a reason that NJS has a cult following. That build is beautiful.
Nice build. The stem and post are really classy.
You're an artist, Andron. Thanks for posting this video.

Thank you for teaching me a better way to place a fork crown race! And you can send that to my house!
aww that's my old frameset. Glad it went to a great home.
The craziest part is that this man isn't even in the bike industry and he is paying FULL PRICE for those parts. I could never, need that pro discount
Pretty sure he owns a bike shop so he gets discounts for sure.

Whats the name of that white grease you put everywhere? and whats that brown/gold stuff you put on crank dust caps? thanks
Beautiful and satisfying video btw.
how is the chainline on that sealed bb? as i understand the 75s need a 109mm bb for a 42mm chainline, the sealed one is listed to be 111mm by sugino

I think it's to avoid the crank seized to the bottom bracket.

What I thought too.
Man i love your videos 🍻👍🌲👌 i wish you could assemble my cinelli vigorelli 🌈 which is on its way to me.
Is carbon frames now allowed in Men's Keirin racing? I know NJS only approved carbon frames for Women's Keirin racing.
