looks like business is going good really happy for you Bro. I did my base in a rust brown, used a rattle can and it came out really good but looking back if I could go back in time I'd use a airbrush to paint the rust brown...did the three center area's on each side in flat black with an airbrush leaving the window area's clean to have light come through this way light gets through the decals that will be placed in them later, in all it came out pretty good. don't feel bad my work area is out of order too, I got to get things in their place so I have some more working room, did some straighting out and cleaning but till the Refit is done I'll wait till then to finish up on cleaning lol.
Heya Transwarp! Yeah, I may just do some dust coats of rust brown and see if I like that. The red isnt too bad it's the chrome. What was I thinking?! lol
@@wraith20072007 Well I was going for a kinda 70s thing and all I remember from the 70s is chrome. Tons of it. Not on cars, on light fixtures, furniture , shelving units, ect. So I was kinda going with that look. Kirk's quarters are a great example of this, chrom trim around all his stuff. But I think it looks garish now and will tone it down.
@@PunkyWily I get what you were saying, wasn't coming down on ya Bro. but true 70's was all about Orange, yellow, green and some gold and a lot of chrome lol
@@wraith20072007 The most hideous shades of orange, yellow and green. Pea soup green????? WHY!? Why am I sitting on a pea soup green bean bag chair!? Yeah, seriously, had one.
Looking good and making good use of available space. I see I'm not the only one using sandwich containers to hold parts, lol. Take out containers, and Hillshire lunchmeat containers are a staple for me. I love that they are stackable and can fit in other bins, and a good bonus, like the sandwich container, is you can see through to see what's inside. Maybe cut the relief on that B/C deck all the way through if you're going to fill it with colored resin. That way you can light block top and bottom, then fill the colored resin as desired. Not sure if I would tape from the bottom or the top to fill from the other. I have different reasoning for both but would have to experiment to see which would work best given the small size of the detail.
Heya Jedi! Yeah I've been using those kinds of containers for years to just throw random things into, can't tell if I got that from my mom or dad as they do the same. I could try cutting it all the way through and see what happens. You're right that both top and bottom tape have their problems, though I like taping the bottom as if I get some spillage it's on the bottom, never gonna see that part.
You should use the resin filler trick Rick told us about months ago. Fill the hole with resin and then cure it. You could print those BC Decks using clear resin. Then light block and the light would really show through that UFP logo.
Very cool, you must really like that printer to buy another of the same. I like the Mars but wish I had done a little more research before buying. Something with a little bigger build plate would have been nice. Great stuff my friend, love seeing the setup!!!
Heya Capt'n!! Yeah the mono 4 K is a great little printer. You get loads of detail even at very small scale. Printed a 1/76th scale figure and it actually printed the little belt loop chain the character had on her hips, didn't expect that! Bigger build plates are good, I think the mono has a 6 inch length and 4 width. I think you can print vertically 6 inches as well. I've printed some pretty large things with that little printer. I still don't like the set up, I like yours though, we can trade. ;) God bless!

Thats a pretty good idea man, I like it! I'll have to do some test printing and see how well it works.
