I totally agree. I really like that old falcon wagon. I'd fix and arrest the rust holes and patch up the floor and then clear coat the paint and patina. The perfect anti SUV.
oh yeah, steel dash , no seat belts. back in the day i had a 64 falcon and 2 - 63 comets, i really wish i had them now. i paid $35 for the falcon$75 for one comet $50 for the other . gas was about 25 cents a gallon and i made $1.25 an hour at the golden arches. those were the days.
@@BudgetBuildz I like aluminum radiators though on RWD cars because their light weight helps traction and rwd cars need every bit of traction they can get. Rear battery helps too, but if there is no place in the wagon, then try combining a very small battery with a supercapacitor. Just being a wagon helps traction too, which is part of the reason I prefer wagons.
They came from the factory with a double action fuel pump that had a vacuum booster for the wipers. The vacuum line you pointed out connects to the vacuum booster. 28:44 exactly. the way it sat there in the woods, overgrown and left behind, it's absolutely awesome how you guys massage them back into life. Gives me so much satisfaction. looking forward to a further roadstoration and interior fix-up. saving the world and one car at a time. love you guys. keep 'em coming.
Got to tell my 19 yo son that when I was growing up we had one of these my middle sister drove to school and she painted the car navy blue, the roof white and the wheels red, with a paintbrush! In was one 1976 so she called it the spirit of ‘76 as well as painted that name in red underneath the drivers side windshield wiper! Those were some awesome times in my life! My older sister had the little sedan of the same year, 61 ish and I’ve still got a warbuncle on my forehead where I flew into the metal dash as my teenage sister went roaring across one of our southern Montana cow pastures and hit a washout! Wow, those were the days. That little car was the same green color of your wheels.😂
You and your dad have a great channel. Always enjoy watching your projects come to life! Great to see all of the vehicles you are giving a second life. Love the Ford falcons. You won’t have any problem selling it if you choose to sell.
I had a 1961 Falcon Coupe with buckets and a console when I left Hawaii in 77. Shipped to Ga and drove until selling to another GI. Had a 144 engine with 3-speed on the tree. Changed valve cover with later model and installed PCV system to help breathe and run cleaner.
Nice job Michael and dad, I was just thinking, a nice little feature would be a perspex panel in the footwell, and keep the view of the road passing by beneath your feet 👍🤔😆
Seeing the old Falcons takes me back so many years. Earlier this evening, I was on Facebook and discovered that there’s a group devoted to the Firebird that was used on the Rockford Files. I noticed your Firebird as you were driving your Falcon around and was reminded of seeing the group on Facebook this evening.
Growing up a Ford guy, i love that wagon, brakes muffler & tape up the headliner & you'd have a decent grocery getter. Love the that crazy rabbit & the gmc motor home.
I would drive that the rest of my life. New engine, trans and understuff. Keep the patina and fix the floor. I got excited when you got it running again. Love that old stuff.
I’d just have to do the bodywork, strip off the rust, and paint it. Personally, I don’t even mind a little fiberglass and bondo body repair to bring something like this back to shine ‘on the cheap’. Others may object to it but I understand that not all cars are worth professional, show car level restorations; rather trying to make something look the best you can with the focus being on the grunt work, not the money and looking good while driving the fun out of it!
I had a 64 falcon station wagon with the power rear window. Great car to work on. So simple and efficient. Nowadays everything is plastic & Cheaply made. Thanks for the video!
A very Good Morning to You and your Father. This project has been a really Good watch of yours and your Fathers Incredible Restoration Skill, Ability, Care, Mechanical Knowledge. My dad proudly turned up in the Squire version of this same model [1962] when I was twelve. It was the first station wagon we had owned. Prior to this time, he had always had 'utes' - pick ups for you Americans - and we kids just loved the security of loafing and sleeping in the cargo bay, rather than under the tarmac of the open tray back ! Thank for your entertaining and professional work
Mom & Dad had a ‘64, the year I was born, really great ol’ cars…great restoration as always guys!
