For me the M43 system is fantastic for size, flexibility and travel. But my main system is also the Fuji XT4 and 100-400. for me the f6.3 is also the biggest negative, The Olympus 300 f4 is fantastic but i prefer zoom lenses. The Panasonic 200 f2 is also fantastic but expensive. If They had a really top quality 100-300 f4-5.6 it would be a great lens.
Felt like I was in a Tennis Match..You began with how great the lens/camera system is and then all of sudden you go Tony Northrup on us and the entire M43 system is dying. lol
I still use it and love it but have to say , full frame came a long way with small lenses and look at Panasonic making bigger lenses like the 25-50 f1.7 . Those are huge lenses. Look at s5 , smaller than gh5
The sensor being smaller has nothing to do with the amount of light coming in. That’s completely up to the lens aperture. F5.6 on m43 is the same as an F5.6 on full frame for light purposes. Background separation is another thing however.
This is not true! F5.6 on m43 and F5.6 on full frame let in the same *luminance*, or light per area of sensor. Not the same amount of total light. Consider that an iPhone 14 has an f1.78 aperture. Obviously it is not taking in more light than a fast prime on a DLSR. It is however putting a very bright spot on a tiny sensor. Because the pixels on that small sensor are correspondingly smaller, they are also noisier than the same resolution on the DLSR and the DLSR will thereby do better in low light despite a slower lens. The DLSR is taking in more light.
@@ackattacker I think you and I are on the same page, I’m sure I misspoke. BTW, I wouldn’t trust the iPhone f-stop numbers, there’s a good video here somewhere talking about Apple’s ability to fudge the numbers.
@@ackattackerthe aperture in a lens is f5.6, no matter the sensor size. Well is more the T5.6 is the same as T is the actual measurement of luminescence. Just as much as your shutter speed is the same with the said corresponding aperture. The only thing that’s different due to sensor size is noise performance due to the pixel density and size of pixels. That doesn’t change the fact that the light is the same. Depending on who you are, what you’re shooting, where and and what time, the noise really may not be an issue. You can get extremely clean results from a m43 camera when shot in favourable conditions. These days with the insane denoising programs even that can be pushed even further now. For some people absolute image quality isn’t as important as the portability, which for some could be the difference of taking their camera with them or not. A slightly noisier image is better than no image at all 🤷♂️
Hi, so after selling, which super telephoto lens will be the substitute for Fuji? You know even I am using both these systems simultaneously and planning to buy a super telephoto lens
Not really a propaganda, I feel like the price difference between full frame apsc sensor cameras as really close to m4/3 now. So not much advantage unless it’s for the small lenses m4/3 have. I still love my gh5 and I won’t be selling it. It has a purpose in my kit
@@NevinXavier To me there's no reason to call it dead unless you're following a trend. You said yourself, mft sensor has a purpose: even in your line up. I can't think of many camera user that would disagree the GH5\G9 are still fully capable cameras and nearly 5 years old. Luckily our Japanese counterparts are still fully developing MFT cameras and we are going to see new Panny Bois and Olympus MFT cameras this year. And it's likely the GH6 is going to be a game changer. This of course is mainly based on research and speculation, but in no way is MFT dead.
m43 isn't going strong. It's not dying, but it's not going strong. I think m43 needs to do a lot in their next iterations because some FF systems have already surpassed m43 especially in video. The small sensor advantages is not as big anymore. Of course, in terms of size and weight, there's no competition especially in telephoto ranges. But f/6.3 on m43 and f/6.3 on FF perform very different. I wouldn't mind shooting 12,800 ISO on FF, but I'll never go above 3200 on any crop sensor (even my XT4). Right tool for the right job I guess. If I was a professional wildlife shooter, I'll only use FF, but as someone who's only interested in doing it casually, m43/APS-C makes far more sense. Olympus made huge mistakes in trying to fight full frame with the overpriced f/1.2 primes, and EM1X. Sadly we're not going to get a GH6 this year, all they have is a GH5 M2. And the specs are... abysmal, according to rumours. I was switching away from Canon, and considered both G9/GH5 and XT4. Ended up going XT4 because it had specs nothing in the m43 line can give. Dynamic range and 4k60p 10 bit internal. Imo, if Panasonic cannot release a trend-setting industry shaking camera with the GH6, m43 is dead. But they are also at the mercy of Sony who develops their sensors, so it's hard. I just pray they don't do dumb things like a 45mp or 8k sensor in m43 like what other FF models are doing now. Pure marketing gimmicks.
I didn’t win any of the giveaways till now,but still trying my best. I will shoot the small things in my life which I don’t want to forget. If I win this, for surely I will make a plan for a trip by happiness.Hoping for best.
