What are you waitin for, I thought, that’s plenty of money, I from mecsicou, she could save a lot of money if she cooks, like sea food is nice and fresh, and some restaurants once or twice a week, maybe like 200 dollars on food, and you can spend whatever you want in tours around islands etc, night clubs, whatever you want with the rest, so think about it, I realized that 1500 Is what you pay only for the rent.

Unbelievable that Dez got that gorgeous apt. for $300/mo. . . . quite frankly, it's hard to believe that it's a typical price at just a 10-minute walk to the beach. Can you do a follow-up with Dez to find out how "bad" it is during the rainy months? I.E., I'd like the "good, the bad & the ugly."
I have walked your neighborhood. I have been everywhere in P.V. and the wider area as well. Given I have a car, I could live further away from the Romantic Zone, but I usually stay there and last time I stayed on the river, too. Taking my dog out to pee, I was accosted by a lanky guy with a rock, but the dog returned from her duty and immediately ran after this guy - ran him 2 blocks away before returning. I like being a bit away from things and yet close, too.
There's a little crime and corruption most places you travel; however, there's also locals bending over backwards to help you, too. The Mexican People are very honest and hard working, but some are unskilled and uneducated, too. You need to take the good and the ugly anywhere you go - I see most of the good in people.
I wish I could get to explore Pueto Vallarta ,too. And be your neighbor as well. I like that cobstone built house where you live. Your place looks very mistical and pacefull. God bless😉🙏🌹
Very informative video - Thanks for sharing. I'd like to come down to PV this winter for a few months . Would love to get a similar place. Did you use broker services to find apartments?

I was born in a small town approx 1 1/2 hrs from P.V. I visited once 20+ years ago and never again till last year. It is such a great place ! This year I returned and spent time in P.V and met many USA 🇺🇸 retirees living their best lives! I can't wait to join them. The US dollar goes a long way!
it is just as expensive here .....in some cases even more so than the usa ... not cheap at all ..... besides as a foreigner you are targeted and constantly being ripped off by the horrible people here ...
I lived in Mexico in the 90s. I will always say there’s nothing way better than Mexico’s houses. Real houses made out of cement and break or river rock. Houses in United States cost a fortune basically your whole life just for a paper plates. That the end of the day you still don’t own the land
Hello, I am going to live for 5 months from November first this year. Can you tell me where to say decent price with safety area and quiet neighborhood? Last year I stayed one of the apartment in romantic zone, it was so noisy to sleep. It was pandemic so I got 400 dollars for rent without electricity and gas.
@@solmyson I’m staying in an Airbnb called Boana Torre Malibu. My particular room #605 is pretty quiet, and super cute with spectacular views. wow! such a lovely apartment & Deb has a sunny personality! plus, she's a real beauty & so lucky!: her hair is just *fantastic,* too! and as a fellow woman👸🏾 it's nice to know that, with certain precautions taken & living a close knit neighborhood, it can still be safe for single women ex-pats living in Puerta Vallarta. I traveled alone to Ensenada once and really loved it..and like your friend, I never tired of having fresh seafood🐟 every day! and for such great prices, as well compared to what it costs to eat like that on the west coast, USA. the cost of living difference for ex-pats is one of the many reasons Mexico is on the list of places I'd consider moving to next. would have also been great to know how long it took Debbie to establish herself there as a tour guide, how she did that. and what kind of Visa she needs to be able to work there..snd also, even though everyone's case would be unique to the, I'm wondering what the 'ball park' overall money figure is re: maintaining her legal status there - a general idea would be good to know. if you or someone you know is acquainted with any good immigration lawyers in Mexico, how about setting up an interview with them? they could get more specific about the kinds of visas available to foreigners - and what amount of money one needs to have on bank record in order to live there. including the age requirements for the various kinds of visas [for retirees vs. younger adults, families, business owners]. and if there are any economic visas or economic citizenships available, would love to hear about the steps one needs to take in order to have that opportunity. time frames, etc. the lawyers from around the world who I've seen interviewed about those topics have been so informative..it's also nice to see who we can trust ahead of any visits to their country. and in return it's a great, free advertisement for their legal services and has brought them many new clients.👍
My Uncle purchased a beautiful house in the romantic zone it’s beautiful! I Love everything about Puerto Vallarta except those noseeums 😂 The $2.00 fish and shrimp 🍤 tacos 🌮 are to die for!
Looks great . The one drawback I see is carrying your groceries - several bags of them across the bridge and up the hill and up allll those steps to her place . I had an upstairs condo and my garage was underneath . Schlepping those grocery bags up those steps was a chore every time .
I’m very happy for all of you foreigners that get to live an excellent life in Mexico 🇲🇽 with your USD DOLLARS! No hate I promise. I couldn’t afford to live in Fluvial or Versalles! Where she lives is amazing! Rento is too expensive in PV… the average wage for a local is about $400 USD per month! So yeah! Enjoy your stay when you come 🍍🥰
Hi Jim, Hi Dez. Thank-you for producing this great little video and sharing. The editing and audio is great and Dez is a very good presenter. I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta 5 times and I like to stay at the all inclusives because I can usually get a good deal from Vancouver, Canada when I want a two week vacation. It’s nice to see others like yourselves who are a little smarter and more adventurous than me taking it further.
I’m not sure I would live there exactly, but I love this and I would totally do this - somewhere in Latin America. Mexico is also convenient back to the US. I just don’t know where I’d go yet. It would take me a while to find that fall-in-love- place that just feels right long term. I’ve been going to a Peru a lot (it’s definitely not there) lately, and will eventually continue to explore Chile and other South American countries. Kudos to this gal, good for her. Can’t beat the tranquility. Plus she’s gorgeous!
Mexico is tightening their visas for what I understand. There has been such a influx of foreigners for all the reasons she explains in this video. The backlash is landlords keep pushing the rent up because foreigners keep excepting the higher rates. This is now turning Into a crisis for the locals that can no longer afford the new rents. It’s also affecting small businesses that have been renting for decades. They no longer can afford the rent and have to shut down their businesses. This video was made one year ago. The immigration laws may have changed and have more restrictions now.
They should consider asking Americans to ban with them and refuse higher rent. We don’t know these things are happening to them if they don’t tell us. We know what it’s like to have people moving from expensive cities like NYC and LA to our smaller towns and increase rent. That’s actually why most of us are moving. Many of us wouldn’t mind helping locals boycott. We’d save money too, it’s a win-win for everyone. Also if the government is “cracking down” on this it makes more sense for them to restrict rent increases to landlords instead of keeping rich foreigners out.
@@LorenCognita your dreaming. The only thing you will accomplish by boycotting is putting a target on your back. Mexico is not the USA. Mexico states do not have rent control. Only the Mexican federal district does.

It's refreshing to see a different area to live then the classical 5D or Versalles.

lol
Leone Dyson, Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. You would be amazed how living in a town like Puerto Vallarta and walking regularly will really help get you in shape.
You should try it for a month or two. She's in her forties by the the look of her and seems to be doing fine. Insurance is still cheap their if your under 65.🤷♂️

That's an incredible apartment!
Apartment?
Yep. Can't beat if for 300 bucks!
i love how u mention how safe it is
my condo was broken into, my car was broken into, spit on, threatened, ripped off countless times, no law what-so-ever
@@isauratorres9447 I've had all that stuff happen in the US too. Personal anecdotes don't mean anything when it comes to determining the facts as to if a place is safe or not. Use crime statistics or data from a reputable source, not hearsay.
I’m planning on solo traveling all over Mexico, this is definitely one of the cities I’ll be visiting.
You want to live in PV....I moved from the shithole SF 5 yrs ago....could never go back to the terrible outrageously expensive, violent, dirty, unsafe US!

Dez ... Your a lovely lady with a kind and gentle spirit ... I like the way you see Life ... Thank you🌺
Hi Dez. I am from México City which I love(the nice parts) and also I enjoy big cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Queretaro etc. But now with the pandemic I try to look for smaller towns to visit and there are tons in México, by the way I've never been to Puerto Vallarta, it's true. Thx a lot for sharing this video so I can know a bit more about my country. Best wishes.

I moved to the Arctic. The north pole. I built my home using available material. I don't need bug repellent. Or a lawnmower. Only have a few fake plants. No sun for six months. And then no darkness for six months. Kinda like two seasons instead of four. I freeze dry my laundry. No heating bills. And I never worry about rain mud and floods. With some life adjustments I can live here on next to nothing.

Unbelievable that Dez got that gorgeous apt. for $300/mo. . . . quite frankly, it's hard

@@devadulce There might be more to her getting that cheap rent than we were told perhaps… ;)
What an awesome lifestyle your very fortunate lady.
Man’s best friend!
Crime corruption crime corruption?
There's a little crime and corruption most places you travel; however, there's also locals bending over backwards to help you, too. The Mexican People are very honest and hard working, but some are unskilled and uneducated, too. You need to take the good and the ugly anywhere you go - I see most of the good in people.
I wish I could get to explore Pueto Vallarta ,too. And be your neighbor as well. I like that cobstone built house where you live. Your place looks very mistical and pacefull. God bless😉🙏🌹
Just came back from Cancun mexico. Love the country, the people i want to live there during the long cold winter months in canada..

I rent a 900 square foot apt in the Seattle Metro for $3200/month. holy shiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee I would definitely consider living here. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful and affordable place to call home. I want to live there, 6 months a year.
T H, Thanks for watching. Six months a year is a great choice. Just make sure it's the winter months ;)
Nov~Mar is the goal.
I am here right now and absolutely love it! Zona Romántica ❤️
It’s about 3 long downhill blocks to malecón de los muertos. I loved it. The only draw back for me was the uphill as I have bad knees. Otherwise, it’s quiet and sunset views are amazing. Two baths and one bedroom and private wifi. I got it for $53 a night, but if here 5 months, that might be high. There’s a few other nice looking condos on this street called Amapas.

Fascinating. I lived in Vietnam for about 15 years. interested in maybe going south. Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it!
How was Vietnam? Can you tell us a little about your experience there
wow! such a lovely apartment & Deb has a sunny personality! plus, she's a real beauty & so lucky!:
her hair is just *fantastic,* too! and as a fellow woman👸🏾 it's nice to know that, with certain precautions taken & living a close knit neighborhood, it can still be safe for single women ex-pats living in Puerta Vallarta.
I Love everything about Puerto Vallarta except those noseeums 😂 The $2.00 fish and shrimp 🍤 tacos 🌮 are to die for!
wow, what a really nice apartment. i wanna live there
Come Cynthia...I'll fill u in on paradise PV... cheap and so friendly and clean and non violent.
Very nice it's a diferente way..to see the other side of the systems..
Glad you liked it
Looks great .
One of the coolest apartments Ive ever seen
Very interesting and informative. Thank you for uploading.
The terrace is amazing as are all the stone steps!!!
Ya Americans will find out soon what the locals really think of them.
Do you sense any irony in this?
