Oh it's gonna look bad ass when it's put back together. The stain and oil really helped with the couple of little mistakes with the top. Great project so far!
I’m so glad I stumbled across this build. Staining and finishing has always been my favorite part of the guitar build process. And the fact it’s on an Ibanez and it’s a 7 string just makes it perfect! Keep up the amazing work sir🤘
As much as you wanted the top to work properly, you have taken a beaten guitar and turned it into something special. I like Relic'd Guitars through hard work and playing, this will be a relic'd guitar through hard work and learning! I can't wait to see and hear this finished or the next project you do :)
it looks good. But it's better to apply multiple very thin layers of oil. Just put a small amount on a fabric and rub it into the wood. It will harden much faster.
I think the veneer problems make it look more homemade and better, and it looks less fake to not relic it too much. The teles and strats look bad to me when the headstock is very light colored, not matching the body and fretboard. Good job. There is a reason Les Pauls have a thick maple top- to avoid problems with thin veneer.
very nice looking!!! keep going. I have one question because I've never worked with veneer, only wood. when the wood should be sanded, should be paralel with the fiber direction. if you sand perpendicular, will remain small skratches, doesn't matter the grain of sandpaper. how it is with veneer? I'm thinking to do what you did, someday. thanks
Amazing series and project, happy to hear you more satisfied than the previous video!!! Will you apply more coats of tuning oil during the week? I can't wait to see the finish project, keep on the good content my friend, Cheers from Rome!!!
do you've thought about several coats of oil before assembly? depending on how the body and the veneers looks, I'd recommend at least 2 or 3 more layers, and in the final coating for a better satin gloss 1 part tungoil for 2 or 3 parts lineseeds oil ;) greetings from the blackforest ;)
Sieht doch super aus ! Selbst die Einschnitte vorne wirken durch das Beizen super. Fehler macht man um aus ihnen zu lernen, beim nächsten Mal klappts dann besser :)
Please get yourself some nitrile gloves. They are cheap and will save you from absorbing all the nasty chemicals in those finishing products. Are you only doing a single coat of Tung finish?
Randy Epp Tung Oil is a natural oil (as far as I know, as stated on the bottle) and for the staining I usually use latex gloves ;) You're right tho, one should always use gloves, especially when doing this regularly! I actually did a second coat of tung oil, might do another!
@@MilianMalivukMusic - Is it pure Tung oil you are working with or a "Tung oil finish". Can't tell from the video since label is away. Pure Tung oil isn't toxic, but Tung oil finish is a varnish, and is toxic. I use Tung oil finish on my guitars since I like the extra hardness and quicker drying time of a varnish. I generally do 4 - 8 coats depending on how much I want to build it up.
This is turning out really good man!
HEY, nice to see you buddy! Hahaha. That 8 string you're giving away looks awesome! I hope it goes to somebody who will play the heck out of it!
Thanks so much dude!

@@sorinsb3936 yep, always sand with the grain. But if you go circles with high grid sandpaper it works too.
The cuts in the veneer look cool with the stain

Yo the moment that tung oil hit the body. Damn. This is gonna be KILLER.
Looks amazing, makes me want to try it out myself

Oh man, I love this project. I have also old Ibanez RG (1996), so this stimulates me to also do a renovation of the guitar.
It's really coming together. Looking good!
Can't wait to see how good it will look when it's complete!!
It seriously came alive! Gonna have to get my hands on some tung oil soon.
Honestly man it I hadn't watched the previous episode I would have just thought there were some weird spots in the grain. Looks stunning!
Love this series man! looking forward to the next vid.
Wow. It is so beautiful now... 😍
Nice new music in the background !
That was a fast upload, it looks great 👍🏻
Amazing work!!!
Man that looks siiiiick!
I would have went with more than ohne coat of stain, that brings out the flames even better - but what am i saying it already looks fantastic as it is
Looks amazing! Great job man

Cool stuff
what grit did you use to sand the veneer? awesome project btw

Nice duuuude!
Damn. Now i wanna buy something and mod the shit out of it as well.
Will you sell it after ? :) kind regards
Sooooo badass, voll schon maine freund... greetings from Cancun Mx
Does the oil fill the holes and irregularities in the veneer?
CAN YOU DO A COMPARISON BETWEEN TUNG OIL AND TRU OIL? SPECIALLY FOR NECKS
you could have sanded the veneer completely off in the arm rest curve like some kiesel models do to remove those cracks

Hello.. did you dilute the tung oil,?
Good.. 👍🎸
Can we consider it as an Ibanez?
veneer needs vaccum bag and PU glue
The paints name and oil
Send me brands of paints and oil what i should to ask shopman
Why tung oil why not clear coat should of been sick
