Question for you - do you feel as though this experience is a case-by-case thing? Perhaps your car is great, and others a more lemon-y? I ask this because I bought a Gallardo after tons of people said they were super hardy, great drivers and generally dependable. Within 6 months of owning mine, it was in the shop for a total of 10 weeks in that short time frame getting major work done and it was just a nightmare owning it (oil pump assembly failure, 3 starter motors, heater core failure etc). Would love one of these, with a warranty/peace of mind safety net. From your videos, it seems like this car has treated you super well!
I work on these things as a full time job and majority of what I'm doing is maintenance and minor fixes. A low mile car is going to have more going on but the ones with miles have the least problems. Drive them and they treat you well. 04-08 Gallardo is prone to all kinds of reliability issues, especially heads cracking around 40k miles

You would. I'm 6' 200 lbs with ample room. I've had 6'7" 280 lbs in the passenger seat with no complaints
What is the hp on with tune
Contemplating a 12c. what's your view of the DCT failure, plugging the hole, life expectancy of the transmission, etc.? Heard its caused by a bearing collapse/seal leak and followed by shaft excessive wear and failure (no parts from McLaren for rebuild, only replace). Thoughts?
The plug fixes the issue, no functionality loss after that. Life expectancy wise, there are 100k cars on original clutch and transmission so they're solid long term. I have 42k miles on mine, no issue.

I have a 570s and it went to the nearest dealer for repairs after it just freaked out in my driveway while sitting there... after 3 months I got it back 2 times, both times with new worst problems after they charged my warranty company 14k and I paid 2.4k for an oil change... now when I get in it says battery extremely low, turn off the car immediately then after a little bit it's just fine, livin on the edge!! Lol
It sounds like you may wanna put the car on a tender over night just to inspire the car to reset it. Also that kind of money for an oil change sounds like you need McMedics!

Hey Sean, Love the videos!. I was wondering are you still 3D printing small parts? Some one stole one of the black pieces between my tail lights on my 12C and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. I'm not sure what they're called exactly.
I've never been printing parts, not for cars anyway. Are you talking about the mesh piece below the deck lid between exhaust outlets?
@@McMedics no one of the individual horizontal plastic pieces between the exhaust. The bottom one.
You're probably going to have to replace the whole panel in the middle. I've never heard of one of those bars being removed
Yeah it seems kinda weird to me that one would be taken off but that's what happened. Looking at it, it just pops right off of 2 clips. I've searched for the panel, I just don't know the technical name for it. If you know or have a link for the panel I would greatly appreciate you sharing it with me.

Like what you are doing here. Seems like a whole lot of car for the money, these days. In your opinion, would it be helpful to have diagnostic equipment? Do I understand correctly that mclaren's is proprietary? Are there circumstances where you would have wanted this (I think one video you had airbag light to extinguish)? Thank you, Doug
There are instances where having a tool that works on their proprietary stuff is helpful but it's not often needed by the average owner. It may never be needed, really.
I need the tool to own a car like this. I DIY my BMW's and use their ISTA software. Surely the tool/software would help you 10 fold when working on your car?

Looking at buying one of these in the UK In the next few months? What are they like in the snow?
I've only driven mine in light snow, on PS4S's, and it was ok. Obviously high snow won't be ideal because of clearance and winter tires would make a big difference. There is a winter mode which also helps. I use it in very heavy rain.
I think you have changed my mind about these cars. Do you feel the 650s would be about the same?
650 is nearly the same car, very little different

I have owned my 650s coupe for three years (also without a warranty or any problems) and still love the car.
I’m considering going over to the Michelin mp4s tyres.. What sizes front and rear do you fit and do you need spacers when fitting mps4s tyres..?
I would absolutely recommend the Michelin's. Front and rear are stock sizes, but the physical dimensions are a little different, for the better. They're about a half inch wider at the tread, even being the same size model. You might also notice your speedometer reads accurately with them where it doesn't with Pirelli's. Spacers are NOT required to run those tires in factory sizes.
Without warranty and no problems for 3years you have to let me know sir how did you do it

I know your car is out of warranty, but do you have the option of purchasing a warranty through McLaren?
My car they wouldn't warranty because of modifications. If it's not 100% stock they won't touch it. Next year is the last year they'll warranty one anyway. The McLaren warranty is $7,500 a year so clearly not worth it either.
