I think the purpose of this is to hold boost better. You really need a boost guage to see the difference. Lag should also be improved. Anyways thanks for the video. 👍
Did my install thanks to your video. That top screw was a bitch to get out. PSA for anyone using the GFB T9381 DV+ Diverter Valve: the part that plugs into the wiring rotates. The connector was blocking one of the screw openings and I did not realize it rotated until the end of my install.
You'd probably have been better installing it roughly 200k ago lol. Along with a cold air intake and upgraded intercooler. But I like your honest style videos, well done :)
Cold air intake is actually only for looks and noise, it does not need or benefit from a tune. Neither the DV in my opinion. Intercooler upgrade would be the only one to make me think about a tune.
joe espinoza intake, down pipe, this gfb diverter, transmission mount insert, and tune will make 60-80 extra whp. The insert doesn’t make you gain hp but it sure makes the shifts super smooth for like 60 bucks.
So I finally did the repair, and oh boy it was not fun. It took me half the day; the space where the DV is located is SUPER tight so make sure you have the correct tools (just the right extension, not too long or short) or else you will be hurting your neck and turning the bolts by hand like me. It obviously isn't a difficult repair but it's a lot harder when you don't have the car fully jacked up in a garage and you have to bend your arms in every angle ever. After the repair, I do notice the throttle response was better in sport mode. However, when I rev my engine, I hear a clicky sound afterwards that almost sounds like a bicycle chain. I feel like it shouldn't sound like that, anyone got an idea what that could be? The only thing I missed was oiling the DV piston, could that be a problem?
It's possible that it's sticking. Probably it will oil itself, because, at least on my car, there was some oil in the air ducts, so, some of that oil will make it's way on the DV+ piston for sure.
That’s probably the waste gate that’s wearing out, very common in stock ko3 turbos that come with the car. Are you sure you didn’t hear it before? You must have just heard it since you were listening to the engine closely after this new diverter valve was installed
@@Joeymga6 yeah 2 years later i learned a bit more about my car lmao, I def have a loose waste gate. now I need to figure if I wanna do the ghetto fix where you heat up the waste gate and hammer it so it seals properly or actually replace the whole turbo... thankfully its still driving fine

Hy, by any chance, do you happen to know why's that the coolant doesn't reach 90 and if does, is for a short time and it goes down again? Thermostat already changed, engine 2.0tdi CAGA.
Hi. A friend has an A4 with similar motor and he also had a similar problem. He changed both thermostats and checked the directional valve (it was good in his case). He reaches 90 degrees, but really slow. His suggestion is to first replace both thermostats and then check or replace the valve.

Honestly, I don't particulary remember this, as I have many cheap toolkits and use bits from all of them.
I'm having a really hard time snapping the GFB DV+ onto the old parts. Any suggestions?
It seems the old diverter is hitting the gfb in the middle preventing it from coming down more
