Of couse the G4 is much better than the GS6. Although the OIS in GS6 is better than the G4, i think the G4 still win if you talk about the camera performance
Ivis Nodovskiy You don't even know what i'm using my micro sd for, I use it for music and pictures it's an awesome way to free up space on my device. I don't even see why you're so concerned about it. At the end of the day you have the choice to make your own purchases. If you don't like Micro SD that's great but you don't have to use it.
krigolino That's what I was saying! You can shoot in raw with the GS6 through a third-party app, but that's a nuisance compared to shooting raw out of the box.
Мехмед Грош RAW its an format of image that capture all the different aspects of light, conditions, apperture, velocity of shutter, etc... and this digital informations can be changed in software images later on
Мехмед Грош If you're planning on editing your photos then yes RAW is better. Before digital photos we had film and required a dark room to view the negative photos to make sure they came out with the proper exposure. RAW images are the digital form of negative photos in simple terms, but they don't require a dark room to make corrections, you just need a good editing program like Adobe photoshop. The images also contain more data than a regular .jpg file, this means that you can make a lot more adjustments to your photo without the overall quality of the file dropping below regular .jpg quality. Make sense?
I picked up the S6 and I am beyond happy with it. The overall quality of the phone is superb from the screen, to the camera, and hardware/design. I'm loving it
Oliver Leopold I don't really think the S6 Edge adds that much more functionality - I'd get it just for the looks, since that curve only adds structural instability and gimmicky features.
Phil Vierno I wanted lg because it has better battery and camera. Along with removable back. I would pick galaxy but witht he s3 and the s5 i had major hiccups and lag after 5 or so months. Shame, but i wont be getting the galaxy anymore. Now my 2 concerns with the lg is, i have no idea if they last that long or if they have the same issues as galaxy. By that i mean idk if the lg lags and hiccups like the galaxy. Secondly, there is rumor going around that there will be a lg pro later this year. If that and its specs are true, it will run the lg into the ground. And i have to pick a new phone in about 2 weeks, so im stuck on deciding
Guys, both the G4 and the S6 are fantastic phones and in the end it's your personal preference. In the end, just know that both these phones are better than an iPhone.
That's what I've been saying all along. In auto mode, which is the mode that people buying these respective phones will be using 99% of the time, the G4 has a real problem with overexposure. A lot of reviewers, for whatever reason just seem to ignore the issue.
Display: G4, Battery: G4, Latest and greatest Android version: G4, Everything: G4. I don't really get what's with all the fuss about S6. IMO G4 is the best choice of two.
That's what happens when you take photos with auto settings. If you don't want to get mixed results and test the cameras properly. Use manual settings to take the photos.
Do the majority of people take pictures on Manual Mode? Absolutely not. This is more real world testing. If you have time than you use manual mode. Most average consumers will take the shot in auto.
Danny Winget well the only poll I've ever seen asking which mode people prefer returned a 54%/46% result in favour of auto mode. That's hardly an overwhelming majority. Lots of folks like to get the best out of their cameras. I think reviewers just do lazy auto comparisons because their convenient and then hide behind the most people use auto business lol!
Mike Sarni like I said. I've only seen one poll asking the question and that was the response from people. All I hear a lot is photography noobs who no very little about cameras and their settings claiming everyone else is like them. Simple thing to do is conduct a poll. Ask people the question. Auto or Manual. Let them tell you which they prefer using. Don't assume on their behalf
Both phones look awesome, but I'm gonna have to go with the G4! Upgrading from my HTC1 M7. Although GS6 shows better performance, the lower battery life and non expandable storage makes me walk away from it. G4 for me it is! Awesome review btw, I liked how you were not biased at all and explained every detail as to why you think it's better than the other and how you were really honest about how you kept having mixed shots from the cameras. Just goes to show that they are pretty much similar depending on your location. Awesome video! Subbed!
Usually when a device is compared to the S6 display its obvious that the S6 is best. The LG is one of the few devices that can hold its own as far as display quality when viewed side by side. The G4 has a brilliant LCD panel. I agree, on auto mode the S6 has the better camera. I think the key to the LG is using the camera on manual mode. That's something many probably won't want to do. But probably would yield much better results.
Swapped my Note 4 for the G4 and am loving it! But I genuinely can't pick a winner of the two. I hope LG fixes the poor bitrate of the video. Great video
This is probably the most honest comparison review of both devices. I upgrade every two years therefore having a removable rear cover and battery are must-haves. The G4 like its predecessor is also very easy to tinker with, e.g., a shattered camera lens is easily replaced with removal of rear cover and two small screws -- With the S6 you don't have this easy route to complete such a task.
Danny... Good job... There's just one thing... The external speaker and audio comparison? For music lovers it's a big deal... Anyway besides that a great job.
Hey Danny, great video and thanks for actually picking a side, I have a question though, how do you get that battery life!?! I feel like I need to send my G4 in or something because I just picked it up last thursday and I haven't been able to come close to that! I've hit 3 hours just barely one time and I haven't been using it intensely. Today, for example, I took it to school, and now, 7:30-4:00 my battery is at a waning 20% and dropping quickly. I had everything turned off, I hardly used the phone with only 2 hours and 25 minutes of screen on time, I haven't played a single game, I haven't been on WiFi or Mobile Data except to check in for a few updates through data, I took two pictures, I only watched 5 minutes of a single TH-cam video, and other than that, all I've done is check twitter notifications occasionally when WDDC posts were made! I'm kind of enraged at this point and cannot believe the battery life I am getting with this phone when so many others are having a great experience!!! Please help me figure out what is wrong, because one of the biggest reasons I was excited for the G4 was the amazing battery life, but now I feel like I need three backup batteries, a portable battery pack, and to go buy an actual quickcharger. And the icing on the top is that Verizon decided to be a bunch of senseless fools and strip the software of the smart features and a few other key features that LG included for an easier experience! Anyways, awesome video Danny, I hope you can help me to understand what I need to do with my phone because in this day and age, 2 hours cannot get me by
Danny Winget Also(a key piece of the info above), I only had the screen at 50% while outside, hardly ever, and while inside the brightness was around 20-30% all day. Hopefully you can let me know any advice you might have for where I should go on with this problem, but I do understand that you are a busy man, thanks Danny :)
You just sealed the deal for me. I've been researching and trying to decide between these 2 for months. I'll be sticking with LG and upgrading from my G3 to a G4.
+Chris Sorreda the V10 is way too big. I'm a tall dude with bigger than average hands, but I don't like not being able to comfortably use my phone with one hand. I can do that with my G3 and definitely the G4.
Awesome comparison Danny! just one question though..Why does changing the shutter speed in the LG G4 changes the amount of light in the viewfinder as well before taking the actual picture? isn't that supposed to work only while taking the picture?
***** From what I've seen in other reviews is that it does change the image in the view finder however I think that this is just a estimate/guess ass to how the picture will turn out (exposure wise)
Finally someone mentioned the overagressive OIS and low bitrate of the G4's video mode. If it could be possible to switch on/off the OIS for video, and up the bitrate then this would be a clear win for the G4.
i would have wanted know about battery life and performance when it comes to day to day usage vs 3d gaming on the devices. Also the LG G4 supports taking picture in raw format so you can always tweak the pictures back on your pc. planning to buy one of these devices, still needs more review.
I think both of these phones are top of the line. They each have their pros and cons. I have read dozens of reviews comparing both phones. One thing that nobody mentions, is the fact that you can get the g4, at T Mobile, for 479.00. That includes an extra battery, and a battery pack. Unlocked, you can take it to any GSM carrier.
Great video. I went with the gs6 and I don't regret it one bit. I had the g3 and I really enjoyed it, but It was just a little too big for one handed use.
Understood. The S6 is really the only flagship with a compact design. Well besides the iPhone 6 but size wise the S6 is amazing if you are looking for a smaller flagship
Thanks Danny, great video. This helped me in my decision making a lot. Besides the removable battery and Micro SD card, my wireless provider is offering the LG G4 for $50 less than the S6 AND throwing in a 32GB Micro SD card, 2nd battery, and a battery cradle. Going with the G4.
I would definetly choose the S6. Have you seen the camera ? It's far smoother, faster and more reliable than most of the phones on the market. Actually the whole device is smooth, fast and reliable. No lags and no disappointments. And finally the build quality proves that you get exactly what you pay for. The gorilla glass and the metal enclosure feel extremely premium. The fingerprint scanner is an extra layer of protection and always works perfect. I know that it's battery isn't the best one, but with the fast charger the battery can get to 100% in less than an hour. Plus the whole devise is customizable as you can choose between numerous themes. Above all, I think that the multitasking is one of the phone's greatest features. It's simple and lets you do many things simultaneously.
I've had the LG G4 since it first came out in summer 2015. I've had 4 replacements under warranty. Apparently there's a common issue with this LG model G4. There is a part that breaks inside of the phone. It will make it so your phone will attempt to boot up but then it will just loop or it will cease to even turn on after the first attempt (Closely resembles the characteristics of a "bricked" phone). After this problem occurs you can actually hold the phone up to your ear and hear the part shaking around inside of your phone. The most recent and final replacement I received lasted no more than 4 days. I've been a fan of LG phones for awhile. I was absolutely in love with the original LG G Flex because it was hands down the best phone I've ever owned. Regardless of wether this is a common problem in this phone or not I refuse to deal with these issues anymore.
Another great video, very detailed and to the point. My next phone will definitely be the Samsung GS6 mainly due to its camera, design and smaller size. I don't care much for removable battery and SD card but it's a step backward I think. I will miss the HTC M8 amazing speakers and the BlinkFeed so it's really hard to give up the M8.
GS6: Great rear camera LG4: Great front camera, better battery and removable too! I was so confused but thanks for the review, I will go with the G4. I always record my lectures and I need a phone that lasts me the whole day. Also, sealed in batteries scare me! If only LG4 had a better rear camera :(
G4 is definitely the best phone I ever had and that front cam is amazing but you failed to mention the real hd vids it take which is uncanny...like the vid bro very good
Thanks for your excellent review. I am going back and forth between the two. Yes, for the most part, I will use the camera in auto mode but it is nice to know that manual adjustments are available if I should choose to use it. I see great photos and not so great photos from both phones in every review I've seen. I appreciate your opinions and explanations about each. Makes choosing a one a bit easier....
Can you screenshot a video still like on iphone? On iphone I pause video and it's pretty clear, everything else in background disappears so I'm just left with the still which I then screenshot, just wondered if this can be done on either s6 or g4 and if so which is better? Thanks
I'm so happy, that I've changed my phone to LG G4 from Samsung. I have many programs instaled, but it's not laggy at all... Cam ant photos are great. Smart settings, like turning off mobile data at home ant turn on wifi (because i forget that to do by myself) helps me every day. Sound-music quality is better. Software updates regulery.
Awesome video comparison, Danny! I've ben trying to decide between these 2. It's a very hard decision. One thing I've noticed too is that the audio recording quality is much better on the GS6 as well as the stabilization, like you said. I do prefer the IPS display on the G4 though. To me, when on the Chrome browser on the S6 looks kind of fuzzy. But on the G4 it is nice and sharp. What do you see on yours?
Does the LG G4 have a touch screen issue though? I heard its not always registering touches? Will this be fixed in a software update or is it a hardware issue?
great review.... I prefer the S6 over the G4. The other day i was activating a phone for this lady and and she saw my S6 (Gold Platinum BTW, lol) and i wasn't impressed, the screen display compared to the S6 actually looked worse than i thought, it's really just a big ass phone, no flare, and the UI looks super dated!! Of course i didn't tell her any of that because i'm not trynna lose my job over an opinion, but she asked what i had, i showed her, and she exchanged the G4 for the S6 that very day.....glad she didn't initially by the phone at my store, lol!!
Danny, believe me or not this was the best battle b/w LG G4 and galaxy s6. I'm waiting for galaxy note 5 as I believe that it would be alot better from LG G4 and galaxy s6. Anyways, awesome comparison:)
Zain Golani actually while you wait for note 5 why no wait for lg g4 pro that phone will blow your mind and p.s im not a lg fanboy im just not a person who thinks beauty is everything, what is on the inside that counts too and lg g4 pro will suprise you
Rinor Kalimashi The time will let me decide which phone is better and which is not !!! However, I think the upcoming smartphones would definitely blow our mind.. But the battle is still left my friend :)
Which phone do you prefer? Samsung Galaxy S6 or LG G4?
Sukhdev Mand see this...
The s6 is definitely nicer in looks. But I'll take the g4 over the s6 👍
After my experiences with the G3 and now using the S5 my choice word be the S6 after hearing what other users think
The s6
Of couse the G4 is much better than the GS6. Although the OIS in GS6 is better than the G4, i think the G4 still win if you talk about the camera performance
By FAR the best comparison of these two phones. Good stuff Danny!
Thanks Dave!
I completely agree with you Dave! Awesome job!
***** Me 2 Good Job Danny :)
I got the G4 mainly because expandable memory is a must for me.
+Fioaoiudou micro sd have 48mbs ROM EMMC 5.0 have 100mbs reading speed ua stupid if u like micro sd in flagships
Fioaoiudou omfg epic fail micro sd makes flagship piece of concret ia stupid dawn iam not applesucker but i support monolith form factor on flagships
Ivis Nodovskiy It doesn't make a phone a "piece of concret". I also don't care, I like micro SD on my phone you're not going to change my opinion.
Ivis Nodovskiy I rate your comment 47/46 chromosomes.
RAW MAN! TALK ABOUT THE RAW SHOT ON G4! This is a must!
krigolino That's what I was saying! You can shoot in raw with the GS6 through a third-party app, but that's a nuisance compared to shooting raw out of the box.
what mean raw jpg?
Мехмед Грош RAW its an format of image that capture all the different aspects of light, conditions, apperture, velocity of shutter, etc... and this digital informations can be changed in software images later on
So, RAW is better?
Мехмед Грош If you're planning on editing your photos then yes RAW is better. Make sense?
I picked up the S6 and I am beyond happy with it. The overall quality of the phone is superb from the screen, to the camera, and hardware/design. I'm loving it
***** Every phone lags every once and awhile. Haven't noticed anything major on my phone. It performs well
***** no lag on my m9. I mean zero lag. To bad it has a shitty camera
***** And iPhone lack customization Like we can do i android , mention that also :)
***** Wrong. They experience lag too from time to time and apps freeze/crash, just like every other phone. Let's be real here
S6 has zero lag
Awesome! This is such a close call, Danny! I have such a hard time recommending one over the other to people.
I would say the G4 wins a little, but don't ask me about the G4 vs S6 Edge.
Oliver Leopold I don't really think the S6 Edge adds that much more functionality - I'd get it just for the looks, since that curve only adds structural instability and gimmicky features.
Jiahong L I agree 100%, but i dont think its worth that extra $100 imo
True.
Phil Vierno I wanted lg because it has better battery and camera. Along with removable back. I would pick galaxy but witht he s3 and the s5 i had major hiccups and lag after 5 or so months. Enjoying my g4... Go for it guys its worth it..
is it really??
+mr shady yes
robert reyes lol I'm looking at the LG v10 now
+mr shady oh that one is nice also my man flossy carter done a review on it you should go to his channel and check it out
+rahulrajeev007 ahah dat stupid fucktard) Congratulations you've been thrown in the money))0
Guys, both the G4 and the S6 are fantastic phones and in the end it's your personal preference. In the end, just know that both these phones are better than an iPhone.
Danny nailed it, awesome cinematography, very very professional
This is the best camera comparison I've seen thus far, awesome video my friend.
Thanks Tomas!
Awesome video Danny. Thank you.
That's what I've been saying all along. In auto mode, which is the mode that people buying these respective phones will be using 99% of the time, the G4 has a real problem with overexposure. A lot of reviewers, for whatever reason just seem to ignore the issue.
With all the features these monsters have it's actually kinda funny we still call them "Phones"
Yeah, so true. These "phones" are both BEASTS.
Eden Gilady Yeah, we should call them internet access devices or... iads
Eden Gilady They're called "Smartphones". The primary function is still making calls.
Eden Gilady they should be called mobile swiss phones :D
Display: G4, Battery: G4, Latest and greatest Android version: G4, Everything: G4.
I don't really get what's with all the fuss about S6.
IMO G4 is the best choice of two.
Good review. And nice to see the QC in the photos :)
That's what happens when you take photos with auto settings.

tony okoro dude u kidding me with your poll?? Most people pull there phone out and point/shoot otherwise get a dslr....it's a phone for sh$t sake!
Don't assume on their behalf
tony okoro The only noob here is you. That insipid poll of yours barely holds any ground.
Nice work here Danny! Another great one
As someone that likes both LG and Samsung phones, this comparison has been invaluable to choose next one. Well done Danny!
Great video Danny :D
Like if you noticed the ant walking next to the lg g4. 😝
This is the best comparison video i saw on youtube.
Great job and review is perfect!!
subscribed and liked!!
Man I love you. You made me decide. Keep the good work!
Where can I snag that wallpaper on the g4 ? Really solid comparison
Dope video man! Good job! Excellent coverage!
another spectacular video. keep up the great work!
somebody just won best camera shootout, thanks for putting the pics side by side unlike most reviewers, glad i got thzt gs6 even more now
Both phones look awesome, but I'm gonna have to go with the G4! Upgrading from my HTC1 M7. I really enjoyed this comparison , very good job Danny, i decided to go with GS6 and i am extremely happy .

These are 2 really solid handsets with NFC and 4K capabilities, awesome review
That was a killer comparison videos
Danny 👌
Thanks man!
Best Review man ever 😃👌💞
Thanks man!
Great video. I bought the S6 edge. I really got it just because of the edges overall, but the regular S6 and G4 both seem like damn good phones
Very nice and detailed comparison. All I want to compare are in this video
I was just researching this and found this in my subscriptions crazy
Danny... Good job... There's just one thing... The external speaker and audio comparison? For music lovers it's a big deal... Anyway besides that a great job.
In terms of audio quality I like the GS6 better (audio output). External speaker I think the G4 is actually louder with less distortion.
Cool... thanks for replying.
Hey Danny, great video and thanks for actually picking a side, I have a question though, how do you get that battery life!?! I feel like I need to send my G4 in or something because I just picked it up last thursday and I haven't been able to come close to that! You just sealed the deal for me. I've been researching and trying to decide between these 2 for months. I'll be sticking with LG and upgrading from my G3 to a G4.
Wished you waited for the v10
+Chris Sorreda the V10 is way too big. I'm a tall dude with bigger than average hands, but I don't like not being able to comfortably use my phone with one hand. I can do that with my G3 and definitely the G4.
G4 is the best BTW great comparison video, keep it up 👍
Awesome comparison Danny! just one question though..Why does changing the shutter speed in the LG G4 changes the amount of light in the viewfinder as well before taking the actual picture? isn't that supposed to work only while taking the picture?
***** From what I've seen in other reviews is that it does change the image in the view finder however I think that this is just a estimate/guess ass to how the picture will turn out (exposure wise)
Ricky Conn Thanks! i guess that makes sense.
Awesome comparison! I ultimately opted for the GS6 over the G4 because of form factor and the display. But both phones are so amazing!!!
Hi Danny, just wanna know from where di you get that LG G4 wallpaper?
Hahaha, the little ant at 1:27 made me laugh! :) great comparison!
Thanks for a great analysis and samples of the two smarts.
Great review Danny ;)
Great video really got me thinking
Finally someone mentioned the overagressive OIS and low bitrate of the G4's video mode.
If it could be possible to switch on/off the OIS for video, and up the bitrate then this would be a clear win for the G4.
Awesome video. I couldn't agree more, it is a tough call. Either way, you'd be getting a great phone.
excellent review danny
I just bought a G4. Great phone.
hey man do you think the Raw format is a huge difference to chose the G4
Excellent unbiased review!
What is the wallpaper for lg G4?
Wallpaper for the G4? I love it
Great review two awesome phones I have the s6 but the G4 feels awesome in the hand
Thanks for the great review, Danny. I wouldn't be let down with either phone, but the LG G4 has more of the features I care about.
i would have wanted know about battery life and performance when it comes to day to day usage vs 3d gaming on the devices. Also the LG G4 supports taking picture in raw format so you can always tweak the pictures back on your pc.
planning to buy one of these devices, still needs more review.
Danny ....Great review thank you
Hey Danny, post some Slow Mo videos with G4, it has been such an awesome phone as per your review according to your description of the camera.
What is the red, darkblue and lightblue wallpaper on the G4?
Great video. I went with the gs6 and I don't regret it one bit. I had the g3 and I really enjoyed it, but It was just a little too big for one handed use.
Understood. The S6 is really the only flagship with a compact design. Well besides the iPhone 6 but size wise the S6 is amazing if you are looking for a smaller flagship
The video camera you used to shoot this review is fucking amazing.

I left my note 4 for the lg g4 and I don't regret it. The g4 checks all the boxes just like you said and is just amazing over all.
Danny Winget Hello :)
What camera did u use for this TH-cam video?
hello
which one it does it better
from power battery and best camera ,smaller like handly ?
Regardless of wether this is a common problem in this phone or not I refuse to deal with these issues anymore.
nice review, very high quality films.
great review without any biasness (y)
Another great video, very detailed and to the point. My next phone will definitely be the Samsung GS6 mainly due to its camera, design and smaller size. I don't care much for removable battery and SD card but it's a step backward I think. I will miss the HTC M8 amazing speakers and the BlinkFeed so it's really hard to give up the M8.
Good video Danny
GS6: Great rear camera
LG4: Great front camera, better battery and removable too!
I was so confused but thanks for the review, I will go with the G4. I always record my lectures and I need a phone that lasts me the whole day. Also, sealed in batteries scare me! If only LG4 had a better rear camera :(
G4 is definitely the best phone I ever had and that front cam is amazing but you failed to mention the real hd vids it take which is uncanny...like the vid bro very good
Best comparison video!
Best one so far, good review. Love my gs6, g4 great phone as well. Can't go wrong either way.
Great in depth video. The choice is to hard for me so I think I'll just wait for the next note. I'm pretty sure it will remain phablet king.
Makes choosing a one a bit easier....
whats the wallaper on his g4 lockscreen
On the "best shortcut to camera on any device" - you forgot the Lumias with dedicated shutter hw buttons?
Does the LG G4 have a touch screen issue though? I heard its not always registering touches? Will this be fixed in a software update or is it a hardware issue?
Amazing video!
What about in direct sunlight? nits/contrast comparison.
Where can I download the wallpaper from G4?
Jiří Mrhac i need it to
No mention of RAW mode on G4?
great review....
I think I'm going for the G4, should I?
lg v10 all the way if u got cash for it
I got the g4 like 3 months ago
+Ben H-B but ur main post says 2
Great review thanks
I'll save my money to buy the S6! It's just beautiful from the inside-out and I really want a white phone.
You can get a white G4 too...
Brady Wood A white back. Im talking about white front too.
***** How...?
***** via dbrand? that looks like shit on front (my own opinion)
Mircea Marius You wont regret. But do replace the launcher ;)
