I thought this video was REALLY good! So much so I am going to watch it again. Any recommendations for taking pictures with harsh lighting?? I know I was out recently and I tried taking pictures in auto mode and the shots kept getting blown out. Sounds like I need to use manual mode more so I really appreciate you explaining the modes to me. Need to commit these tips to memory. :)
+victor bozzo Use manual camera and just adjust the exposure compensation down a little. I talk about this more in my recent th-cam.com/video/PRRFn12XP5Y/w-d-xo.html
Thanks a lot for this video! I am gonna buy exactly this smartphone very soon because even nowadays this variant is very good for those people who want to have a good device for a nice photography making. So, there is no need to by very expancive phones like ,ore then 1000 $ iPhon and so on. And this LG G4 is a very good analogue that has almost the same camera quality but its price is almost 10 times less.
Any advice if you don't have a tripod??? Good video, especially about the Temp part, that makes sense. Could you set the Temp with a white or gray card?
Great video! I would like to learn how to shoot car light trails at night. Do you have any tips on how to do that? I have had my LG G4 for 2 weeks now. I love it!
+Christopher Trimble i'm not a expert but you can manage the light trails by using the Exposure, just set up the manual settings and add 1 to 2 sec. exposure to it , i mean you can experiment with it.. PS. i know you question is been here for a while but hey just in case you need to know.
Bro i liked your extra camera holder with mounted microphone and LED flash light... there are few gadgets for LG G4 in the market but this extra holder with 3 options's really great and good looking... i need that 'holder' please tell me the model name, price and from where i can get that holder...
Wow, that's pretty cool. Could you do a review of the cinema mount and what it can really do? I love my G4, and I'm looking to turn it into a more serious shooter, but I'd love to add more lenses. I've been looking for something like it. Could you review it :)? THankss!
Nice! Does it shoot 4k? I can't leave the iPhone 6 Plus but I'm hoping the iPhone 7 has 4k. I can get the manual controls with an app as well as shooting raw. The iPhone does macro really well. I have a nice tripod rig for mine with the Rode iXY for doing guitar videos.
Where did I say the iPhone camera was better? I didn't. I said I can't leave my iPhone. I have a lot of Apple only apps that sync across my iPhone, iPad and two macs.
Great video. I love my lg g4 camera. Its amazing. Also thanks for mentioning snapseed to edit the raw files. I was transferring to the computer for Adobe Photoshop.
Tony Lester It turns out I was wrong about snapseed editing RAWs on Android :/ not possible at this time as far as several of us can tell. I thought I was editing DNG but really jjst the JPEGs. Currently I use Lightroom Mobile when I want to edit DNG files from the LG G4. Sorry for any confusion.
I notice you said the cinema mount has a hot shoe. Is that true or is it a cold shoe? You didn't have anything plugged into the usb port on the phone. Will it sync a flash or record audio into the phone? I did see any info on it in the link you provided.
Does the G4 allow you to launch the camera with custom presets, with your manual settings ready to shoot? Or is it reset each time? If Sony implemented such an intuitive Manual mode (and better processing overall) they'd get more out of the Z3 sensor. It's so hit or miss atm.
Hi thanks for review. Is there any way to turn the OIS off for video? I hear there is quite a 'jelly' effect when recording thanks to too overactive OIS.
+Nick Carey No - I wish there was - at times the jello is noticeable and annoying but I use it for most of my vlog footage - watch recent Greece trip th-cam.com/play/PLCUnGRSvb-aLDl94vaKLxqpvkCigw4zWN.html and it works well.
I have a problem when shooting in raw, of course as you now you need room, I have just purchased a 64 GB SD card but when, I put the SD card into the phone I am having trouble getting apps and pictures to go to the SD card ,know the G4 I have is the dual SIM but it is basically the same do you happen to know of any tips and tricks our way ,that might get my SD card receiving information into storage would appreciate any help thank ,you great video.
I have the cinema mount for my G4. Like you, I'm not a huge fan of the optics that come with the rig. I'd like to test out some different ones, my only problem is, I have no idea what size threads are on the rig itself. I know the threads on the wide angle lens are 58mm coz that's what it says on filter mount. But the actual threads on the apparatus it's, I don't have the foggiest and can't find the info. Any help there?
+heinzkitzvelvet I believe it is 37mm - printed on one of the pieces that screws into the spot. I have thought about buying a pile of stepup rings to get to better filters on there , just haven't done it yet.
+PhotoRec Toby Ok. I know the macro lens says 37mm on it. I was thinking that was the size of the threads that the wide angle lens screws into. I wish I had time to go to a camera shop they could tell in an instant probably. Anyway, thanks for your help. I just hate to order something and have it be the wrong size.
Hi Toby, I'm getting some strange micro pattern on my LG G4 JPEGs. I saw the same pattern on randomly selected G4 images from the internet as well. Do you experienced something like this? I did not shot RAW yet, so I don't know if it is a JPEG compression artifacts or lens/sensor problem.
hi recently bought this phone and im very satisfied with the camera. Just one thing though... it takes good quality photos but when i upload the pic in instagram or fb, the pictures becomes a lil gritty or graining... is there a way to fix it?
Great Tips! Thats really nice camera mount. iOgrapher www.iographer.com makes some camera mounts for the iPhone and iPad, but it looks like the Pixel Addix Cinema Mount is made with better quality materials.
+puczHD Link below the video but seems like they are not making it anymore. Next best option is the www.iographer.com/ stuff or reticam www.amzn.com/B00KG4V11C/?tag=photorecomm0a-20
im using LG g2. camera is below the average quality though.. but i cant upgrade bec the phone itself is awesome. 2 years and counting and it still havent show any signs of slowing down. I want to upgrade but i dont have a reason to :(
Łukasz Grabski In manual mode make sure you are shooting RAW + JPEG. Take a photo and then choose to edit in Snapseed. It will bring the DNG file over for editing.
PhotoRec Toby I am doing this: Shoot in RAW, choose to edit in Snapseed. But when I am in Snapseed and see info about edited picture it says that it is JPG. When I first open Snapseed and then try to open RAW file it cannot open it that way.
I tested the LG g4 and Sony Z5 Premiuem. Everybody says that Camera on the LG G4 is better than the Camera from Z5. If i take a Picture with the Z5 and then Zoom in the PIcture gets sharper but if i do this with the Lg G4 the Picture isn't sharper. Why is this so?
Smartphones should have a built-in ND filter, my Nokia 808 PureView does. That cinema mount should've been waterproof as well (as its metal handles would suggest) , just in case I wanna shoot some underwater marine life. Ah well, ya can't have everything. By the way, just as a like would nice (which I did), so would a smile at the end of the video, loosen up, man.
PhotoRec Toby The sound effect in the beginning goes for too long to the point where you can't really hear the first words that come out of your mouth.
Thanks for the video. I'm just getting started the G4 and it's the most manual camera I've used since I owned a DSLR. I wish you could actually set the WB by pointing it at a white or grey card, but I guess this is better than nothing. Also wish we could actually change the aperture, but I'm not sure how possible that is with these optics and such a small sensor... Not ready to invest in a mount like that anytime soon, but I do want to get some kind of tripod or tripod head that can grip a cell phone. Having audio control is great, but since you were talking accessories, you might note Android Wear devices allow for at least some degree of remote control. This app seems to have more than most: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dheera.wearcamera&hl=en
2021 July and just replaced my old g4 with another g4..awesome video.. Best ever tutorial
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I think I am so much more confident with this tutorial and my LGG4. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so very much!!!!!
thank you to show how to adjust and use it very help full and easy to understand
Great video! Is there any kind of telephoto lens you can attach to this phone without causing too much edge distortion? Thanks!
wow thanks for all ur best tip for lg g4 manual shot . now im getting better with my shot on my g4 😊

This G4 is. A way better then the iphone 6 , and lG it was the first with camera 4k on a phone

No worries. I to have Lightroom mobile.
Some very useful time-saving information here, thanks for sharing :)
Hi, may is which kind of microphone should i use if i want to use lg g4 to take video in concert? Thank you so much !
very well put together
Can you tell me what you used to record this video on? I noticed you had it in 4k, did you use the LG G4 to make this video?
I notice you said the cinema mount has a hot shoe. Is that true or is it a cold shoe? You didn't have anything plugged into the usb port on the phone. Will it sync a flash or record audio into the phone? I did see any info on it in the link you provided.
Excellent Review. The LG G4 is a beast!!! You just got a new subscriber!!
Great gadget. How much would it cost?
great video, but can you please do a camera tutorial with the all new LG V10?
Does the G4 allow you to launch the camera with custom presets, with your manual settings ready to shoot? Or is it reset each time?
If Sony implemented such an intuitive Manual mode (and better processing overall) they'd get more out of the Z3 sensor. It's so hit or miss atm.
ganjabobby Reset each time.
great video helped me alot

did you ever make that video on snapseed?
where can I buy the audio device and the holder?

Reboot after you insert the microSD card?
Thanks man thanks so much for this :)
How does one change the aperture (focal ratio) of the camera or is this impossible?

assembler66 I have not noticed any patterns - I haven't pixel peeped at many of my photos but the ones that I have looked at are fine.
wow smartphone cameras are getting insane! Very impressive. It was surprising to see you do a video on a smartphone camera
Great video! The mount is already sold out 😢
nice tips as always
My LG g4 have slo-mo option but video speed is regular not slow??
why i dont have hd camera on my lg g4? how can i fix it?
hi recently bought this phone and im very satisfied with the camera. Just one thing though... it takes good quality photos but when i upload the pic in instagram or fb, the pictures becomes a lil gritty or graining... is there a way to fix it?
Same here :(
Nice grip but expensive. anybody knows similar holders have to Ali?
Great Tips! Thats really nice camera mount. iOgrapher www.iographer.com makes some camera mounts for the iPhone and iPad, but it looks like the Pixel Addix Cinema Mount is made with better quality materials.
*I'm testing it on my G4..right now* 😁
Does anybody know what camera holder he's using? Is it the same one from the end?
+Kenny Johnson Yes- But they stopped making it - best one I have found is the Mefoto Sidekick 360Plus www.amzn.com/B00TM6UR2E/?tag=photorecomm0a-20
+Kenny Johnson www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xcinema+mount+.TRS0&_nkw=cinema+mount+&_sacat=0
Kenny Johnson cn i ask hw much that lg 4g n what made that

Is the video quality really that bad on the G4?
I still think this is best camera interference up to date. I shoot so quickly in manual mode i almost never use auto..
The excellent default photo editor has been updated and is now over written ?? wtf? Anyone know how to get the default back?
Manual mode does not seem to work for video. When I start a video recording, it jumps into auto. Or am I wrong about this? Is there a way?
+Ben Israel No - that is correct. The LG V10 is the LG phone that does allow manual control on video.
Castiel Sagan thank you
can u do the lg g5 camera
+RAHUL M I do hope to review that phone/camera soon.
PhotoRec Toby son of ha biitch get lost im an indian
PhotoRec Toby ill be waiting
Thanks.
Which camera did you shoot?
Panasonic GH4

wow my lgg4 is soo good
Snapseed is able to edit raw files?
Łukasz Grabski Yes, it can edit the DNG files created by the phone. I don't believe it can edit RAW files from DSLRs or other cameras. . . yet.
I have lgg4, how I can do that?
Łukasz Grabski In manual mode make sure you are shooting RAW + JPEG. Take a photo and then choose to edit in Snapseed. It will bring the DNG file over for editing.

perfectforehand That would be nice- maybe it will happen as Microsoft starts allowing android on Nokia hardware.
Lg g4 is still a beast

Nice video. Btw why is your wife always sad? She rarely smilies on your videos.
The 6+ is taller than the note lol
as a video camera unless its alock off this phone sucks!!!! rolling shutter its android problem I think but ya its sucks
that macro tho
