Just wanted to stop for a minute to say thanks for the video. I’m pretty mechanically inclined, but when I popped the hood I couldn’t even see where the coils were, or where the wires were heading . I appreciate you leaving your struggles in the video, makes it real for the rest of us. Thanks again.
I really liked this video, more so than most, because the man shows you exactly how much hassle you have to go through to change 2.2L wires, also, having the correct spark plug boot removing tool. My 95 has 141 K original wires and plugs. I'll probably have to cut the wires off the plugs. I also like no unnecessary chatter telling me how great and his channel is, no unnecessary demonstration of the fancy tools he's using. Excellent video!
Hmm.... Could have sworn i commented on this video.... Hmm.... OH WELL anyway i did this too on mine, very annoying getting the plug wires through where the alternator is but its doable tho. I couldn't do it fast enough or like nimble enough because my forearms were too big to try and squeak through. Also plug 4 was real stuck on.... That was fun lol. OH I REMEMBER WHICH VIDEO I COMMENTED ON, it was the transmission video you did there.
@@JaboTheMechanic great news, I started on the truck this morning, mind you it 25 degrees here. I jacked up the truck, removed the wheel and zipped tied the rubber flap up and put my drop light in there and noticed my number 2 plug came off. Put it back on and BAM the truck is running great. This all started when I got a P0301 code, thinking that the number one plug was no good, decided to replace all the plugs , I went ahead and did that. Stated it up and got the dreaded P0300 code with is a random miss fire. I checked the connections on the wires to the plugs and number 3 plug was not on right. Put that on and then got the P0302 misfire. Thinking it was the wires I said let's replace all the wires, and coil packs. That's when I went out this morning in 25 degree weather to take it all apart while I waited for the parts to come in from Rock Auto. So shes running great now, I'll wait till the warmer weather in the spring to change the wires and coil packs, thanks again...
thanks for posting ... I'm thinking of tying a string or something around the plug wire ends at bottom, and pull, Lightly !. Kind of like electricians do ! Might be better until can get fingers on em to pull down rest of the way ?!! What a horror show for common plugs n wire replacement. = thanks you GM = NOT !
Some may think this is too much work? But, on a side note, I noticed the oil filter may be a lot easier to change if the wheel is pulled. My arms are too short and it is a pain trying to reach it from the top.
I put new plugs and wires in my 2001 GMC Sonoma 2200 engine and I noticed a couple of these little hoses wasn't hooked onto whatever they hook onto and it is sucking up are making it run sluggish
AC Delco platinums or iridiums 100K miles + Can you imagine the old days when you had to change plugs every 10K and have to do it on this engine? Forget it!

Same here. changed the plugs, but I could not see where the wires ran from the spark plugs. I didn't know where the coils were.
These are coil packs? No distributor?

Calibration of a Chevrolet S10 1994 2.2 liter engine
Tie a string to each old wire after you cut the boot off one end. attach the new wire to the old one. and pull carefully.
Good job, very informative, doing this job tomorrow morning, thanks for posting
Glad it helped

Good job .mini truck is hard to work on
Thank you! Glad it helped!
I mix the cables I don’t mark them how do I know with one goes on where thanks.
Google the firing order for your truck
What is the best plugs to use in this engine? I have a 2000 2.2
My 2 cents I'd say ac Delco or NGK can't go wrong with either of those in my opinion
@@bamaboyzoutdoors7593 Agree, use oem on the spark plugs. I believe AC Delco are already gaped from the factory

You lop you never showed firing order or # cylinders like 1,2,3,4
why you need to change wires if they still work?
Actually 1of the 4 be wires was very bad which was causing a miss fire
What kind of socket do you use?
I use kobalt tools from Lowes. Had for 10 best investment every
Metric Swivel sockets are from matco.
@@JaboTheMechanic what size socket do you use
Thanks for the video. Informative.
Whats the firing order on the s10 man!? I did everything but it still is missing out
title is spark plugs wires changed & then he says watch some other video : ( Blah . I'm out of here... title it RIGHT & quit wasting our time
Ahahaha.
