    My oatmeal did that this morning looking much like the boiling mud at Yellowstone. News crews are at the scene now reporting on this unremarkable event.

      was your microwave damaged in the explosion? a special forensics team can be sent in to determine the reason for insurance purposes. hopefully none of the family was harmed and the damages to your home were minimal.

      @@terra_world No personal injuries but I'm sure I can come up with some for the insurance. The microwave is a total loss. It looks like a chunk of a defunct Starlink satellite or a NASA battery that crashed through the roof.

    Reminds everyone that Yellowstone is perched on the rim of a 600 mile diameter "super" caldera. Park rangers will tell you that as near as geologists can tell the volcano which formed said caldera goes off about every 180,000,000 years. Guess how long ago the last eruption was. We're all just along for the ride.

      False. You'd see the caldera lower by meters. Hydrothermal eruptions are pretty common in geysers. Don't spread fear with no understanding of how nature works.

      I doubt it. There's no way to evacuate all who would be affected by the eruption. The scientists seem to think the eruption won't come in our lifetime. Of course, they thought Mt. St. Helens was safe, too.

    If that happend before they would not let tourist walk out there . I live in idaho and spent every summer in yellowstone had a cabin in max inn and i have never seen or heard of that happening in that area. AND THEY WOULD NOT LET PEOPLE WALK OUT THERE IF IT WAS A COMMON OCCURANCE. ... OH YEA PET THE BISON AND GET REAL CLOSE THEY LOVE THE TOURIST AND ALWAYS WANT TO BE INCLUDED IN YOUR SELFIES....

      Same here. It's always funny tho to see the alarmists jump on and pretend to be experts. Everything from the earth is getting warmer to there's an increase in earthquakes.     I sat on that bench with my parents in 1964! That was such a close call! That could have been us! If that had killed my parents, they wouldn't have live to die of old age 5 years ago, and my 2 younger brothers would have never been born!

    If it is so common, they would not have the boardwalk so close to it. Acidic, hot rocks and steam raining down on people sounds like liability I dont see Yellowstone risking if it is so "common".

    Earth is heating up. Water and magma equates Krakatoa! Water and hot rocks makes steam explosions like this one. I wouldn't walk in that park. But that's just me.

    6.4 earthquake in tofino canada two weeks ago, 7.4 earthquake in Chile a few days ago, and two days ago a 6.2 earth quake in Nicaragua..... fire always precedes, heavy rain, heavy rain is always followed by lubrication of the earths fault lines and pressure gets released in slippage and volcano eruptions.
