In Norhtern Thai language "Jao" is the feminine expression at the end for the speaker to sound softer (like "Kha" in central thai. Northern men will still use the masculine "Krub" While Northern Women will use "Jao" instead of Kha). Glad you enjoy the food and enjoying Chiang Mai. 5-star chicken is a pretty old brand since I was very young (around 30 years ago) back then they used to be specialized in whole rotissery chickens with the stuffings that smell very peppery I felt like they were marinated heavily with garlic+pepper+coriander roots. I suggest trying the roasted chicken at certain franchise shops, as not all of them offer this menu option. They have three flavors available: Original, Assorted, and Black Pepper. Personally, my top choices are the Original (ต้นตำรับ) and Assorted (ทรงเครื่อง) 😊. Five Star chicken has been my comfort food since my younger days, about 20-30 years ago.
If you're still in the Chom Tong area, I'd recommend visiting Wiang Nong Long. you'll find the largest Sunday morning market in Lamphun there, open from 5 am until 11 am. :)
