They are presupposing teams can be good or bad for 17 games, when in reality it's like two seasons.
16 game seasons were much the same.
For example; In 2019 the Patriots had a great season at 12-4 (on paper), but really had nothing left by the end of the season and scraped along playing .500 ball, and as a result got bounced in the first round by the Titans.
By week seven they were one of the best, by week 15, they were average or a little bit worse than average.
That was the 2020 szn 2019 we won the Super Bowl

@@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl The Panthers picked up a few solid edge rushers to hopefully replace Burns in aggregate. They are also replacing luvu with a like-for-like player in Jewell while also getting the captain, Shaq Thompson, back. If the offensive production and TOI improve, the needed rest should help out the defense. I'm not worried about the Panthers' defense; it's the offense that will hold this team back.

Ur reason for the Raiders not making it is just stupid there has been too many teams that have made the playoffs and super bowls that don't have a star QB and Gardner Minshew's stats are better then Trevor Lawrence despite him starting one season less then him. Not to mention that AOC held his own despite being put in the worse situation for any rookie QB. also Josh Jacobs backup Zeus put up some respectable stats when Jacobs was out with a injury the addition of Brock Bowers and depth at O Line extremely helps the Raiders not to mention them having a top 5 defense in the last 5 games of the 2023 season. all that without the addition of Christin Wilkins the raiders are making it far this season and are coming for revenge on the league at this point most people just hate on the Raiders for no reason. Another year for Jordan Love and his young offense after what they did last year in the playoffs should only show improvements. Defense seemingly got better. Green Bay is usually always competitive can’t really ever count them out unless their QBs go down. They’ve shown they can go toe to toe with NFC contenders or beat them. Despite the youth of that team. They just draft and develop really well.

@@kghostthegreatThey also play the AFC South this year, a division that last year became surprisingly competitive and cutthroat. Their 5th AFC team will be from the AFC East, so Lions get the Bills, Packers take on the Dolphins, the Vikings play the Jets, leaving Chicago with the Patriots.
I feel like the three positional matchups will make a lot of difference with this division.
This is a trend that tends to happen with the Packers. When they move on to a new QB, that team will then go on to prove better than many expect them to. In some years, this leads to a Super Bowl win if Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre taught us anything. It’s still too early to tell what Jordan Love will do for them, but history is at least somewhat on their side here.
Personally, I think with their schedule, this year will be a big test for the Packers. Outside their division, they play teams such as the 49er’s, Texans, Eagles, Jaguars, and the Dolphins shouldn’t be underestimated either.
Washington a Darkhorse playoff contender
The Vikings have the toolset on both offense and defense to sneak into the playoffs this year. It isn’t unheard of for teams to do so despite mediocre QB play, albeit they usually don’t go far.
I think the QB play will be better than mediocre.

Defense is ok but their offense was completely atrocious and they did not have enough star power. They lost Brian Burns as well so now they have holes on their defense. I do think they had a good draft tho so it would be interesting to see how they play out this season.

Titans got better at there most needed spots. If it’s anybody getting pushed around in the division it’s the colts. The qb can’t carry them every time.

As for your comments about the Commanders, first of all, Chase Young stunk. Getting rid of him was actually an upgrade. Secondly, there are no "Shoo in playoff teams." Injuries can happen. Teams can underperform. Maybe the Eagles we saw in December will be the Eagles we see in the future. The Cowboys missing the playoffs isn't even unrealistic, considering Quinn was a big part of why they won 12 games 3 years in a row and he's now our head coach. I think they have at least as good a chance as the Texans did.
Don’t forget the unlikeliest superbowl team in the giants in 07. Eli was just clinging to his job and getting hate everywhere in the media but they just plugged away and made it work. It’s all about getting hot at the right time and what players make the jump up in skill.

With the moves Tennessee made this offseason, and you say they have 0 chance at making the playoffs is just hilarious. Also they aren’t the worse in the south. Indy did absolutely nothing this offseason, and their QB is not that good like the media is making him out to be. Jags are overrated and will be no better than what they were last year. The Texans are the clear favorites, but the Titans have the team to give them a challenge.

Injuries ravaged last year’s Panthers defense (losing Shaw for the season was brutal, for example), and it sucks to lose cornerstones like Burns and Luvu, but I have hope in our underrated draft class, which includes some promising defensive talent. At least we still have Brown.
Understandable why you put the Panthers in this list. It’s a reflection of how awful the organization was and of Tepper’s tomfoolery. I have confidence in our new GM and HC, and I hope Tepper learns to not be an outburst-prone-control-freak.

I think both the Raiders and Commanders have a good shot at proving you wrong. Your main argument against the Raiders was their quarterback play but they don’t need a game-winning quarterback they just need a game manager under QB. Their defense is going to be good enough to keep them in games. They have improved their roster from last season despite losing Jacobs. And Aiden O’Connell doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and had a winning record under center last season despite him being the quarterback that got the least amount of attention during the off-season. 🤷♂️

The only teams that have "no shot" at making the playoffs in 2024 are the Panthers, Patriots, Giants, Raiders and the Titans.
The rest on this list have at least a shot.
-- The Chargers are greatly improved, and all they needed was a defensive minded head coach who knew what he was doing.
-- The Cardinals had a great draft (top 5) and got their QB back.
-- The Commanders also had a top 5 draft and have play the Giants twice, so they're already 2-0.
-- The Broncos have a great coach and drafted a QB that fits his scheme perfectly and have the Raiders twice, so they're also 2-0 already.
-- And although the Vikings have "almost" no shot (they drafted 2 of the most likely 1st round busts 5 years from now and gave away 3 major picks for next year) they still have a great DC in Flores and OC in its head coach, so they have a slight chance.
As for the teams not here that have a good chance at missing the playoffs in 2024...
-- The Jets have a 41 year old conspiracy theorist QB coming off an achilles and the worst 2 seasons of his career, don't have an NFL OC, O-line coach, or head coach. Yes, they had a top 3 draft (finally drafting their franchise QB, however, won't play this year), but that's a lot to overcome.
-- The Dolphins, if the Jets do get in, it means the Dolphins will be out. They had a real bad early draft, although they made up for it in the back end.
-- The Saints had a poor draft and still don't have a franchise QB.
-- The Falcons had a so-so draft, with likely 2 busts with their 1st 2 picks (5 years from now) and have a QB controversy in their hands.
-- The Jaguars had a pretty bad draft and let go a top WR and the QB just got over paid, so no presure on him to play great with a guaranteed deal in his back pocket.
-- The Browns also had a lousy draft and their QB has a lot of questions.
-- The Bengals also had a pretty bad draft, but they do get their franchise QB back. However, if the Browns squeak in, it mean's they are out.
Seahawks have no shot at the playoffs. Wouldn't call the Eagles or Cowboys shoe-ins, either.

Bengals actually gained weapons. Boyd was older, replaced with Burton. Gesicki, I believe, is an upgrade over most TEs on the roster. The additional Brown and Mims is (huge) 😂 . As for the RBs, Chase Brown and the addition Z. Moss will be an upgrade over Mixon. I can see Cincy going to the playoffs if everyone stays healthy.
@@kingsantacruz2866 the same can be said about any team that loses their quarterback. Burrow didn’t miss any time except from when he got his knee destroyed and then his wrist. They had him sit out the last week of the regular season of the Super Bowl run because they already clinched the season and wanted to give him rest for the playoffs. Players play with plenty of minor injuries all the time. Only 2 injuries actually cost him time off the field.

You obviously don't know Jim Harbaugh he makes an immediate impact every where he goes. I would be shocked if the Chargers didn't make the playoffs. His style of football is hard to stop as everyone is setup to defend the pass therefore teams are too small.
See Detroit's offense for an understanding of what Harbaugh will try to do.

Keep doubting the Titans lol, even with the worst OL in the NFL, worst secondary, no run game, and 1 WR the Titans lost 80% of their games by 1 score and that's with having the 4th hardest schedule lol. Titans addressed everything this year spending 80M+ on players, OL looks way better, 3 starting WR's, best CB in the NFL plus more, but for some reason people expect them to do worse than last year or stay about the same. If this was any other team people would think different but since its the Titans there's no way.

Hot take: The Texans will come back down to reality this season, in the same way Cleveland did in 2021. Diggs will regress, and the issues in the secondary will be glaring this season. The Colts and the Jaguars could very well steal the AFC South if they remain healthy. While I’m not picking the Titans to make the playoffs, they are progressing, and I wouldn’t sleep on them.

Outside of Brian Burns that's all we focused on??

9. Seattle (don't be suprise if they tank for their #1 qb this upcoming draft if geni stinks). Arizona is on the rise, San fran, and rams are tough too in the division. I think Seattle may go 1-5 or 0-6 in the division this year. Going to be rough.
10. Jags. Don't be suprise if they're the same old jags again. Houston, colts will pound them twice this year. They might go 1-1 vs Tennessee so 1-5 or 2-4 in the division. Tough year for these guys.
For the first time EVER, I agree with TPS. There is no way the Patriots make the playoffs. They are the worst team in a brutal division and play in a tough conference. This year is year one of the second rebuild since Brady left for Tampa. Too many Pats fans expect the team to do what Houston did in 2023, but it's not happening. The offensive line (especially left tackle) is still a question mark, and so is the receiving corps. Pats will be lucky to duplicate 2023's 4 wins.
I agree with all except the Raiders The only issue the really have is a ? at QB their Defense is stellar and they have a great all around offense.
Perhaps, but as the Falcons can tell you, having a ? at QB is a BIG liability.
Minshew was a dropped pass away from making the playoffs last year with a worse roster all he has to do is get the ball into the playmakers hands, make a play here n there n play mistake free football
Raiders have a top 10 defense and can easily be at top 15 with their offense. QB isn’t everything, and for a rookie AoC did well, and Gardner Minshew lead the Colts to a .500+ season. Raiders can easily be a playoff team, I’m predicting they either take the division or make a spot in the wildcard.

I think you are underestimating both Harbaugh and Herbert. Most of the chargers losses were by one score with a terrible defense, no running game, and a terrible coach. Allen had a good year, but Willioams missed almost the entire season and Ekeler had a bad year. This year the receivers are the big unknown. We assume that the coaching will be better, defense better, and run game better. receivers? unknown. Chargers play all 4 AFC north teams. if they go 0-4, then yeah, probably wont make playoffs. but, go 2-2 or better, good chance the do make playoffs. gotta go 3-3 in AFC west or better.
