Something very... Spiritually enriching seeing a dude spend 50 bucks getting a computer up and running and being excited it can play older low-intensity games. It reminds me of getting my first computer and being excited I could play games at all, then upgrading it and being dumbstruck when I could play at more than 12 fps. Very well made video. It surprised me on how well this cheap equipment managed to run. Your commentary is also very well done, and also good stuff with the simple editing!
I think the HDD as the boot device is what holds the performance back, try installing it on an SSD to see if it somewhat improves. You can use your 1TB HDD as a storage drive for games and other files. Overall, that is a nice deal you have with your computer.

Cool. Hope to see more like this, overcoming the different problems and if you ever happen to change the PSU in an Optiplex using the 24-8 pin adapter, just remember you may have to update the BIOS to a newer version for that to work.
These old Dell Optiplex towers have LED lights on the front that will tell you what is wrong with them. The power button either blinks a code, or on older ones like this, they have 4 debug LED's 1 - 4 that light up a code that tells you what's wrong.
