what i really liked about olivia was the fact that she was smart one but she was never stereotyped as the nerd in her character and design so her new look was such a let down
Fr I was so upset 😢
i liked her cuz we had the same name 😭
Other than being interlectually bright, she was very sarcastic and straight to the point, but was still a fun character, if I recall correctly. Honestly one of the best nerdy characters I've ever seen in kids media catered towards girls, purely from the fact that being smart wasn't her character, just a promident trait the character possesses.
@@cruximee precisely! they didn't make her intelligence her entire personality. she volunteered at her aunt's animal hospital, she was on the basketball team, she had her own stuff going on. plus, I agree with you, her dry, witty humour was amazing
@@olivianichols4660 same and I liked pink and hearts
It's so funny to me how controversial the line was because it "reinforced stereotypes" but then it became one of Legos biggest success
I’d say it’s also because less stereotypically feminine, which I would say is a really good thing!
Women/fems move stock
I mean those were parents buying kids what they think was "fit" for them, so sexist parents who arent conscious of the damage they are doing to their children isnt a new thing, there were raised under the same obsolete and strange ideas. Its not surprising normative parents got this for their girls because thought normal legos were for boys only, so its a demographic they werent exploiting before due to the same restrictive gender norms.
Lego friends unironically understood what little girls wanted more than anything else I saw at the time
I was only given lego friends as a kid cause it was "for girls" but the show was really good at not reinforcing stereotypes, like they were fairly fleshed out characters for a show selling toys and while each character had their stereotypical trait none of them were really "girly" and as kids my sister and i loved that so much
I feel like most things people claim “reinforced stereotypes” in terms of girls is usually because it is feminine. I feel like at times in media we tend to portray femininity as weak, shallow or just demonise it. Like yeah of course not every girl likes traditionally feminine things but some do and that’s okay either way.
What really "reinforces stereotypes" is how things are usually marketed as being either for boys ONLY or girls ONLY. I feel like big companies and stuff don't get that issue isn't that "girly" things exist, but how "girly" things are marketed as if girls don't enjoy the "boy" things, or as if boys can't enjoy the "girly" things.
Idk if I conveyed that right, but I hope you get the idea???
@mochibunyan You conveyed that well and I agree, gender roles in toys is so weird and vastly limited what toys I’d get as a kid, thankfully both Friends and City are breaking away from that with more male/woman characters. I also agree with OP that femininity is demonized for no reason and I don’t get it, that’s what a lot of the complaints about LEGO Friends stem from rather than harmful stereotypes and it pisses me off because hating femininity in women is, ironically, misogynistic (although LEGO Friends itself was sometimes also misogynistic in a few instances like the whole “we’re girls, not scientists” comic that I have no idea how LEGO approved of).
Yeah, I didn’t realise liking Lego for girls was a crime 😭 I’m a guy and I don’t care how corny that makes me, but I’ll still collect dolls if they’re cute, because having room decor that’s actually fun to look at isn’t easy!
@@mochibunnyan6556yeah, like Strawberry Shortcake was (is? I haven’t seen the new show yet) for everyone! She was a greeting card that blew up in popularity, greeting cards are for everybody!
I blame middle school bullies for making EVERYONE shy to enjoy feminine things like kids media or dolls
Yeah, as a feminine girl I hate the people that think tomboys are strong and feminine girls are weak and unfortunately that seems to be a lot of people😢
So autumn is in fact Mia’s daughter. The og girls have grown up and now it’s the next generation. They also wanted to be like “girls and boys can friends” and add more boy characters which the target audience (aka young girls) has been asking for. So yah it’s kinda cool Lego (from the research I’ve done) did a huge amount of studies to find out what the kids where asking for and then they did their best to deliver. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the og girls, and girls doing girl things is always a slay. But much like when I would play Barbie’s I wished I had more male characters, because there is nothing better then a man written by a little girl.
AND in the set featuring Autumn’s House, they included a Mia figure, who looks to be slightly aged up, and in the description of the set, detail her as “mom Mia.” So there ya go
The boys absolutely shouldn't be in this line..
@@mccreaeva5078xD
No. Why can’t we have our own line of stuff. The boys can totally be side characters but let us have one thing omg. It’s so annoying
I agree. I liked the boy side characters in the OG and even shipped them with two of the girls. I like the new generation and the idea of having more guy friends. I’ll alway love LF. They have a special place in my little heart.
oh my god the nostalgia that just hit me....i remember watching the birthday episode hidden under my covers past my bedtime when i was 8 and building mia's ranch is still one of my favorite memories
Same 😭
It doesn’t feel like it should be nostalgia yet though, suppose thats how I always am
@@FroggycolouringRight! For me, this show doesn't feel as old as it is. I'm looking back and thinking "2013? That can't be right!!".
I have Mia’s ranch too! I loved forcing my dad to play tiny horses with me!!
I got Mia's ranch for christmas and my cousin broke it!!! Mia's ranch romance was my favourite movie because Mia was just my fave character haha
The memories of me building Mia’s tree house on my birthday is coming back.
the web series will always be a weird semi-suppressed memory from my tween years. y’all remember the emotional trauma of when everyone was crying about emma moving two minutes away?
Wait yeahhhh I think I'm remembering it now. Do you remember the episode? Or was it in webisodes?
@@nimkey8515 it’s a distant memory of mine… I’m pretty sure Lego friends had a website and that was where I used to watch the webisodes.
The webisodes were amazingg
The webisodes showed a lot of background information for example when Andrea was training for the talent show when they first met Livi, a webisode showed what the other girls did while Andrew shut them out. It's nice the creators connected everything together to still make sense 🥰
Oh boy lego friends. I had almost all of the original sets and loved playing with them, making up my own stories. Even at that age I knew it was one of those things where they said "now girls can play with Legos to" but to be honest I didn't really care because I loved the way the sets looked, especially the colors (btw Olivia is best girl)
totally agree like the designs and colors of the sets were always so good
I watched the series when it had the first three designs (i had no idea the lego people approach was a thing but i would have hated it as a kid). And I only had a three sets (stephanie's car, arcade games at the amusement park with mia without the roller coaster unfortunately, and this huge tennis stadium thing). I LOVED legos as a kid but I never knew it was the "girls can play legos" thing. Also Emma was my fav
I have most of the og ones but gave them away to my cousin and camp and now I switched to the Harry Potter ones
I always played with traditional Legos but I found those sets hard to build so Lego friends was a great alternative because I didn't need as much help building it, it was easier. I had Olivia's house and Heartlake high. And I got lucky with Olivia's house because even when I found it back then it was an older set.
I don’t really know if I would classify it as a “now girls can play legos too” kind of thing. I was obviously too young back then to know, but now where I am studying business and marketing. It seems more like Lego trying to actively appeal to both genders. Other stuff they were making at the time, Lego chima, Lego ninjago, and other stuff, can definitely be enjoyed by everyone, but it was designed more to appeal to boys. So if you like more stereotypical girly stuff, those things won’t speak to you as much. So it makes sense they would make a series which is more stereotypical girly, to also get the more feminine kids on board. And in the cases of kids liking both girly and boyish stuff, then they may just make more money of one kid.
Now obviously the marketing may have twisted it into “now girls can play legos too” but marketing only say what they think will make people buy stuff, and rarely actually reflects the intention of the company.
Saying: “we have designed a new girl series, so girls now too can play with lego”
Actually means: “we realized there is an entire group of potential costumes we haven’t dived into yet, and we want to change that.”
Sorry that was long, and probably obvious. I don’t know why I make these types of comments when I should be sleeping.
I do absolutely adore the Lego friends from the original phases, so yes, our interests are almost always the same!
The five OG girls are alive. They are adults now. Mia is autumn’s mom. Lego did confirm it. The next chapter is so much more representation of all people. It’s people of different backgrounds coming together as friends.
Lego Friends was hands down my entire childhood, so this video makes me incredibly happy and devastated at the same time-
I also hated that they got rid of the fact that Emma did Karate and had to change all the designs except Stephanie‘s
Stephanie's design was changed, but the change (her eyes being a darker blue) is so small compared to literally the other 4 girls that it goes unnoticed.
My WHOLE CHILDHOOD BRO 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
True
Not the nostalgia trip😭😭😭Lego Friends was 12 year old me’s SHIT. Anyone else still get the theme song occasionally stuck in their head?
🎶 best friends forever, forever and ever. No, no, no matter what we stick together🎶
🎶 best friends forever, forever and ever. Me and my girls, we’re best friends forever🎶
I'LL BE AROUND THRU UPS AND DOWNS WHEN YOU CALL MY NAME
That one song by Andrea in the country episode gets stuck more for me
WE ARE COUNTRY GIRLS WE ARE CITY GIRLSSSS
Lego friends also created my obsession with a girl group called L2M so their theme song ate
ME AND MY BEST FRIENDS FOREVER TO THE END ME AND MY BEST GIRLFRIENDS
LOVE THE SONG
Mia and Stephanie have both already appeared in the new show. Mia is Autumn's mom and Stephanie is the mayor of heartlake. I also want to mention that this rebranding was part of a larger effort by LEGO to be more gender inclusive and to not target lines of products to specific genders. The new friends cast is evenly split between boys and girls now. Ninjago also got some new main characters.
Yeah, Ninjago is introducing a lot more female leads.
@@dangerbuffrockycan I ask what their names are? I haven’t actively been into ninjago since I was like 12
@@candy_ribbons Sure! Sora (Master of Technology), Wyldfyre (Master of Heat) Euphraisa (Master of Wind)
no way they changed ninjago..
@@shelbyxox they just got other characters. The main six are still going to be there.
I’m actually a boy lol, I’ve always been fond of lego friends, but it wasn’t until 2018 that I felt comfortable actually liking it, Girls on a mission was absolutely my favourite version of the LEGO friends show.
But I’ve also REALLY enjoyed the 2023 generation, I enjoy about have the cast and some of the episodes genuinely make me smile!.
As for the “Autumn is Mia’s daughter”, that’s confirmed by lego, and it’s also confirmed the Stephanie is the current Mayor of heartlake.
This video was really nice and pretty well done! Have a good day!
I genuinely think that after this year, LEGO Friends has risen up as one of my favorite themes, even as a NInjago-only collector.
Steph is the Mayor?? 6 year old me is screaming rn!!💖 What a girlboss
@@xoxo.pochacco haha glad that makes you happy!, I think we’ll be seeing Olivia in 2024 as a astronaut:)
Lego friends is also known as the most inventive right now out of lego city & lego friends. Only since june 2023 lego friends has one of the most important designs to general lego fans, it's literally top 3 sets ever. And! Lego city has started to copy lego friends designs!
I personally didn't like this video as it is missing so much context, people genuinely thought lego friends was gonna get canceled before 2023, this group of characters is also the most diverse we've had so far, ESPECIALLY in disabilities. We got special wheelchairs, diabetes and even amputation?? There is also a character with down that is from the older group who is still in this one, and we even have neurodivergency. I love it, especially the designs of the buildings.
@@xoxo.pochaccoStephanie literally went from arguing with the daughter of the Mayor to BEING the Mayor.
One of my favorite birthdays was when I turned 7 and my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, and grandparents teamed up and each bought me a different Lego Friends location. I spent the entire day amassing my Lego Friends kingdom. 10/10 birthday.
Bestie, love this video, but they did NOT get rid of the old cast. Stephany is literally the mayor and is included in in later episodes, and Mia is Autumn's mom! Both of them are even included in sets! The world just had a time skip!
You know what stayed the same… NINJAGO! LEGO friends and Ninjago was my childhood
Ninjago is so good!!
Ninjago is getting a soft reboot with Dragons Rising. They're introducing and reintroducing new and old characters.
@@dangerbuffrocky you really thought I didn't know?
they kept the same storyline and same characters, which is more then what lego friends can say
ps cool name; rocky danger buff
@@emmett_the_5th I don't really think that what Friends did is inherently bad though. They kept the old characters but they're only present when they're needed, which makes sense because the new Friends are a new friend group all together. And it is a natural continuation from Girls On a Mission with Stephanie being mayor after getting the internship.
They changed the designs to diversify them , initially they were all white except Andrea but they changed Emma to Asian ( hence Brown eyes ) and Olivia to Latina ( far tanner skin ) .
They probably changed Andreas eyes to make her far more relatable to the average black girl and made Mia's eyes green as to not have 4/5 girls have brown eyes !! I think It was good change !
Yeah but why not just make new characters? “Relatable to average black girl” like um gurly what? And they made Olivia dark to make her more relatable to the average hispanic girl? Should they give her a sombrero too? Make her take siestas? Zero individuality. So what if they dont represent the average whatever? Thats what makes the characters them. People at lego dont care, they just want to appease karens to make more money. No offense, but they made olivia wierd, emma obsessive, andrea arrogant, and idek what happened to the other two. You wanna fight me when they literally gave olivia a cheese obsession? What, is that to relate to the average hispanic girl, too? Cause we all have a weird obsession with cheese. Nothing to do with average nothing. Excuses, excuses. The idea is fine, whatever, the execution horrible.
@KeilaBevins the main cast was already large enough as it is, plus their races weren't exactly focal points of their original stories/characters. Adding more characters would be difficult to do, because it would mean having to write and rewrite and intertwine these new characters out of nowhere into fitting in with the already existing cast. Sure, they could remove some of the original girls and replace them with completely new characters, but a lot of people tend to be upset when original characters get replaced in later iterations/generations/remakes of nostalgic line ups (ex; see the Winx live action remake and people's reactions to it). Also, if people can't handle something as simple as changing the ethnicity of a white character whose race had nothing to do with their story, do you think people would be able to handle said white characters being completely erased and replaced by a POC character???
Lol so ur excuse is “they didnt replace the girls because thats too much for people to handle” when they literally did just that, they replaced the girls with an all new line of characters, and had to make up new stories for each of them. Also “race has nothing to do with their character” exactly, so WHY DID THEY CHANGE IT. It’s just to make money, to appease karens. @@mochibunnyan6556
idk but as kid i always thought Emma was Asian mainly bc i was Asian myself and could relate to her lol
I think Olivia could've worked as a Latina without the tanning. Light skin Latinas exist too.
THE CAFE LEGO SET😭😭😭 so much nostalgia omg and I love those first episodes, I think it’s crazy that the best animation they had was the first episodes
omg finally someone who talks about it! Lego friends kinda underrated ngl XD

Autumn is canonically Mia’s daughter. Mia was included as a minifigure in the Autumn’s House set and made a cameo in The Next Chapter movie. Stephanie is also the mayor of Heartlake City in the new series, she showed up in the most recent episode. As a big LEGO Friends fan, I’m actually more into the new series than I ever was the old one. It’s much more interesting to me.
2:34 love how both miraculous main va are also in Lego friends, idk it’s kinda heart warming 😭 or maybe I’m just nostalgic and sad and want to go back to the fun days where all I did was watch cartoons and play with my toys
Lego Friends and lego Elves was a huge part of my childhood
In the 2023 era Mia is confirmed as Autumn's mother and Stephanie is the mayor of HLC. We are still waiting for the rest of them
My daughter was into Lego Friends and now she's a mature tween and can say new Lego Friends is the worst. Same timeline for My Little Pony.
The roller coaster was the last set we got. It took up SO MUCH SPACE! All the pieces are packed away in storage and have been replaced by The Sims. Those Sims expansion packs sure don't seem that expensive when you compare to Lego.

I always loved Lego Friends growing up, I loved the movie that was made. I feel bad for the original girls being thrown out and wish they could have kept them but I don't really have a problem with the new group they've made. I just hope kids can keep having fun playing with Legos and Lego friends.
i loved the original lego friends show they actually felt like teens in high school. The second rebrand was lame and they got rid of what made it cute, and the third rebrand idek my little sister hates it tho
I loved Lego Friends and am surprised to see that they were not just something my brain made up one day. Not as much as those elemental elf guys but I loved them.
I loved the treehouse and the vets office the most, and had a great deal of fun with the mobile game which I played on my friends iPad because it cost money.
I’m pretty sure Mia was one of the characters that made me realize I was sapphic.
My thoughts as a kid who grew up with Lego Friends: Obviously I'm quite nostalgic for the OG era, but I accept that things have to move on. From the glimpses I've caught of the newest era, I think it's cool - I love the teal colour they use as a motif, and I also like that boys are part of the main gang to show that boys can enjoy "traditionally feminine" things too. That being said, I don't think that the OG girls were very stereotypical at all - my favourite set was Stephanie's seaplane! I did think the 2018 rebrand wasn't quite as good - Racelifting Olivia wasn't a very good choice IMO. I'm fine with characters being different races in adaptations etc. but they just straight up changed her skin colour and nothing else, and hoped that no one would notice lol. One thing I would love is if they actually did reference the OG gang a bit more, or even if they brought out a set for Lego Ideas of what the OG gang are up to. They'd make bank from all the nostalgic Gen Zs and Zillennials, lmao!
I LOVED Lego friends as a kid. The sets, the series, hell yeah
I remember getting Emma's house for Christmas and spent the whole day building that damn thing. I was OBSESSED with it. I also watched the show religiously with my neighbor, who seemed to have ever Lego Friends set known to man (in the year 2014).
The new LEGO Friends is actually so good. The new characters are so unique and the sets are great too, speaking as a Ninjago fan. LEGO has been rebranding big names this year, namely Ninjago with Ninjago: Dragons Rising and obviously LEGO Friends while also introducing more homegrown themes such as DreamZzz.
I would argue that it isn't necessarily a bad thing that they did a rebrand for them though. Both themes had been getting stale for a while now, and I think most LEGO fans would agree. So having a new cast of characters whilst having the old ones still being prominent in the franchise was definitely the way to go. Especially in Ninjago's case because the lore goes crazy.
And I think the reason why they decided to do a next-gen of Friends is so they didn't have to start a new theme from the ground-up. I mean, DreamZzz took around 4 years to make. And also, making the new LEGO Friends it's own thing would've probably made it flop immediately since you've literally got 2 of the same thing on the shelves, so that's going to be confusing for the audience of kids and adults.
Anyway, great vid!
I agree! Although it’s sad they replaced the OGs, I think it’s better than running their characters into the ground in the name of “keeping up”
+ I think it’s kind of like Total Drama with bringing new generations, this could be good for the kids who weren’t there for the originals
I work at a toy store and I was looking at the sets and they look SO cool!! They also have new hair moulds too which excites me.
I have the conservatory set of the new Friends brand, it’s really pretty and fun.
emma was always my favourite i was OBSESSED with her as a kid !!! the lego friends 3ds game was my shit i used to play it constantly

its so odd that i just came from a lego friends build review for nostalgia and this was posted a minute ago💀
Came here to say I absolutely loved Girls on a Mission. The animation was so cute! And the fact that they gave Andrea braids was really cute since I don’t believe she was portrayed with braids before.
Girls on a mission seemed like a good improvement from the eras before.
lego friends ruled my household when i was a kid. every birthday and christmas was just lego day frfr
the cafe was my LIFE. wish i still had all the pieces
First !!! My whole childhood was Lego friends, I loved the 2012 to 2017 episodes I watched them loads of times , but the 2018 reboot was a good change for sure , but I’m not sure about the 2023 one , it’s good but I miss the old stufff
It was confirmed that Mia is autumn’s mom in the autumn’s house set. Mia is the only one who hasn’t died as of yet
Nope! Stephanie is alive as well, she’s confirmed as the mayor of heartlake
I don't think Lego would kill any of the OG 5 off.
THEY'RE DEAD?!
@@ava1872 NO! Trust me their not dead! Nothing to fear, their was a leak with Stephanie as a mayor, that has come true, next year there’s a Lego friends spaceship and hay what do you know?, in the same leak Olivia was a astronaut
@@ava1872 no, they aren't. Mia ia Autumn's mum and Stephanie is the Mayor. Olivia's probably floating around in space considering the last set she was in was a space academy, Emma is most likely a famous painter and Andrea would definitely be a pop star.
BROOO i was waiting for you to talk about Lego Friends: Girls on a Mission. This was a tv show from 2018 and this is where they reimagined some of the characters (in this show Olivia is mexican-american! thats why it looks like her model changes ethnicities-- because it does). It's a really good show (my comfort show) and i recommend watching it!
I was THE lego friends kid, I collected the sets, had the DVDs, watched the webisodes, read the books, listened to the music, played the app games, and am currently on the hunt for a bunch of the older sets (because they aren’t being sold anymore 😭)
I owned SOOOOOO many Lego friends sets when I was a kid. I remember the swimming pool being my favorite for some reason.
The OG ones are not dead haha, they grew up, just like you :) Autumn is daughter of Mia for example.
But I get you, they are mainly a toy company and need to refresh to keep selling sets, they done the same in my childhood with Bionicle, by focussing the story and sets to newer heroes. And Ninjago also this year refreshed their casts a bit with 2 new characters.
I was OBSESSED with lego friends until the 2018 rebrand. I was obsessed with the disney show and the old webisodes, had a bunch of the lego sets (including the cafe) and my most rebellious moment as a kid was going on the lego friends website without my parents permission lol. I recently learned about Mia's daughter and I laughed so hard I had to tell the school gc and we all freaked out 😭😭😭 The new animation kinda reminds me of the lego dc superhero girls movies.
You should try the 2018 shows, it's good even though i personally prefer the og one but it's good
They’re not dead and gone, the 5 girls are still in the lore but they’re grown ups now. So far Stephanie is the new mayor of heartlake and Mia is a mom to Autumn and the rest of the girls haven’t been revealed yet

this change made me very mad and upset bcs i was a huge fan of lego friends growing up like lego friends was my comfort show and seeing them replace them was really heartbreaking lego friends was perfect just the way it was it was funny and wholesome and being the shy outcast kid i was growing up watching lego friends was comforting idk how to explain it tbh but lego friends meant a lot to me
I love Lego Friends: Girls on a Mission! To me, that will ALWAYS be the best version of Lego Friends.
It had everything I could ask for: Deep stories, memorable main characters and side characters, good humor and a great design.
I still can't believe that it was canceled! Knowing that Lego Friends: Girls on a Mission will never have a season 5 took a piece of my soul away...
I still will neverr get over the 2012-17 girlies i loved them so much
I just remembered seeing commercials on TV and watching videos on TH-cam and I found the one with brown hair in the pink to be so pretty….
I was a child who grew up watching Lego Friends on TV and I simply loved it! Those girls inspired me a lot and I think a part of me wouldn't be the same without them. The same happened with friends on a mission, which was a continuation that I really liked. It's sad to see these cartoons always gaining new generations with new characters. The same happened with my little pony and several other cartoons but I think we should just accept and keep the good memories we have from the old generations
lowkey, my biggest flex is that I owned the big stable/ horse stable camping thing set as a kid, still own it to this day- it's in my garage somewhere
I feel like the new characters (in my opinion) of lego friends are good! I love how they put a character ( Autumn) with a disability and i honestly like the new sets idk just my opinion i do miss the other characters though
I am actually so mad they changed it like they were so iconic i loved them so much and they had the AUDACITY to change the whole damn crue like why replace something that was such a great success i know we're entering the "new era" or whatever but why dont you just make something comepletly different rather than replacing something that alot of people know and love it's not that hard
I mean the old girls just grew up, Mia is a mum and Steph is the mayor. But it gose a little deeper then that, lego doesn’t have faith in a new theme, when they do they do YEARS of research and development to just try to get it right.
Lego doesn’t have faith in another friends like theme, so they did a time skip with older versions of the old crew, and a new crew. The new friends have proven to be a success, a lot of it may be attributed to better colours and builds, but it’s ALSO a success because it’s not something new, it’s something people already know ( of course there are people who just won’t buy any new friends sets because of that) but the truth is, lego friends: a new generation, is doing VERY well in sales, a lot of it, again attributed to that rebrand.
But I CERTAINLY get where you’re coming from, lots of lego fans say the same thing about Ninjago, “why didn’t they just make a new theme instead of putting the idea in Ninjago”, because it’s a garintee hit
I hate the fact that whenever I talk about Lego Friends, I have to specify whether or not I’m talking about the Lego owned Friends theme, or the theme based on the sitcom Friends
thanks for adding the lego sets to help us get a sense of the timeline
i used to love lego friends and seeing all the sets made my brain fill with so much nostalgia and so many lost memories
The Girls 4 Life film will forever surround me in nostalgia 😭😭 I had the disc and would watch it on repeat
Honestly I loved both generations of Lego Friends! I grew up with the girls but I also love the characters of the new generation too!
I’m pretty sure Autumn is Mia’s (and River??) daughter which is really cool! I wonder if we’ll see any of the other girl’s future kids?
Welllllll…it is indeed confirmed Autumn is the daughter of Mia!, but also, Stephanie is the cannon mayor of heartlake ( in the newest episode and one of the sets we learn that ), so hope you’re happy with that 🌺
@@ClassicStudStudios no way really?? That definitely suits Stephanie 😂
@@Victoria-_ ya!, especially since In girls on a mission she was a intern for city haul!
I remember being sad that there was only one "boy" character this is pretty cool.
Autumn is Mia’s daughter, Mia appears in two of the sets and Stephanie appears in one set as the new mayor
i’m so glad someone made a video about this
I was waiting for someone to talk about this franchise thank you
i rarely have any connection to topics i watch these kinds of videos about, so seeing the lego sets i actually had as a kid is insane to me.. im pretty sure i still have these and i loved them so much
When I was little I loved them so much and stopped playing with them in 2017 and they’re completely different then they used to be😭 kinda happy I stopped buying them before they changed
Holy crap what a throwback. All those sets you listed at the very beginning of this video are still in my closet at this very moment because I just can't bear to let them go lol. Also, seeing you rebuilding the café reminded me of a very distinct memory of being in the "grown-up" church service one day bc Sunday school wasn't happening for whatever reason and bringing the instructions for the café set to read because I didn't know what to do during the service 😭💀
I nanny for a boy who LOVES Legos. He recently discovered Lego Friends sets after having built all the other sets at the local stores. He told me he loves them so much because now ALL his Lego people (from other sets) have a place to call home and go hang out and be friends. He explained that before his Legos didn’t have friends, only “jobs and bad guys” like his police and bank robber sets. It is so cute to watch him play now. All Lego people regardless of set have adventures “at work” and then go back to “chill” at home/restaurants/cafes. ❤️
There was a Lego friends set with Mia being a mom
Omg i forgot about lego friends imma bout to rewatch it again
omg the hair salonnn brings back so many memories
first minute was an actual nostalgia bomb, thankyou
I was absolutely hooked n in love w the og era n its webisodes I still watch it till this day
Lego friends are my childhood, even right now I rewatch my favorite videos I'm sad they stopped making them. I'm waiting for the season 5 bro
the cafe the treehouse the CRUISE SHIP they hold such a special space in my heart
the lego friends treehouse is giving me flashbacks
The five original girls are returning to Lego friends but will be able to see them in adult form
Olivia always had something special about her, I don’t know what but she was always different from the other girls. They made the characters so bad (as in character traits) they made Olivia a total nerd when she wasn’t before, and Stephanie wasn’t the sporty one before. I just wish it was how it was before
finally i’ve been waiting for someone to make a video and address this!! i grew up absolutely LOVING lego friends, and even to this day have a lego Emma on my keychain that i got as a kid!! i noticed a few weeks ago the new sets and didn’t see my girls at ALL!! i was upset to say the least
My comfort episode is definitely the one where Stephanie is left home alone and those people try to break in
is it bad that i started crying when u said the OG girly pops got cut??? so many good memories
I'm an og lego friends enjoyer, got literally all the jungle rescue sets. They were the perfect thing for a gay little boy like me who loved legos, but also girly things. Even though my heart is with the og, I can admit the second rebrand was really good. It still retained that strong femininity and unique cast that i loved, but it updated them to reflect our modern, diverse world. It was a really good example of a refresh.
The current one isn't really in my taste however, as it somewhat removed alot of things that made lego friends what it is: Super girly But if viewed without the past iterations in mind, this version still seems unique and fun! Change is inevitable, I just hope the current generation of kids have as much fun with the new lego friends as we did with the og!
Ah a fellow famine boy, I know how you feel, the third rebrand DEFINITELY got rid of a lot of the girly elements, or at least a lot of the traditional ones, I’m personally happy with the current version, for me at least it still feels brighter and still more feminine then lego city while also just being a better city in general!, you have a good day EV
@ClassicStudStudios
🤜💥🤛
Have a good day too!
I LOVED THE GIRLZ4 LIFE MOVIE!! i watched it multiple times a day for like a year and a half and was obsessed with that song ‘Right where i belong’ that Livy sings. i had all of the sets you mentioned immediately after that part too!
It has been confirmed that Mia and Authumn are reated, and Stephanie is the mayor.
Lego friends on top, I always played the scarcely placed boy characters because little me didn’t get that girls could also kiss girls.
“You could of had Olivia’s house, the treehouse, the vet clinic, the cafe-“
Me: *All of them.*
Autumn is Mias daughter confirmed by lego
Great video! Really bought back the childhood memories.
There was one thing I noticed. There were also a few cartoon episodes that were released around (I think) the OG Era. I don't know if they're still there, but I remember watching them on the lego website.
This is honestly heartbreaking to me! I was a Lego girl growing up, and LEGO friends was a huge part of my childhood from about 2012 to 2019. I started in the OG era, went insane during the Livi era (I was absolutely obsessed with Livi as a child and she was the reason I got into music), got a bit confused during the 2018 rebrand but eventually went with it and remained obsessed and eventually dropped out as I got older. When I say I was obsessed with LEGO Friends I really mean it. I had the sets of course, I watched all of the movies and shows, I checked the LEGO friends website several times a week to see if they had released a new short (they did that if you weren’t aware), I memorized all of the songs, and I was subscribed to a Lego magazine where I would just skip straight to the Lego friends part. Those girls were my childhood and it’s really sad to me that they have just been erased from their own franchise.
They haven't. The beginning-of-2023 sets included Autumn's house, a farm house with Mia as her mum. And the middle-of-2023 releases include a community center, opened by Stephanie, the mayor of Heart Lake City after the place was renovated by the teens of the new Friends wave. Lego fans guess, on the clues they get, that January's 2024's releases will include Olivia in a space-theme set.
New LEGO friends destroyed my childhood
Same 😢
How? The old girls just grew up.
@@dangerbuffrocky yeah but they also change the Characters and they Designs, like for exampel in lego friends a Girls mission : Stephanies Hobby isn't baking any more , her Hobby is Sport even thought mia was always the one Who was a littel bit Sporty and then we have olivia : what have they done to my girl 😭 like yeah she is the Smart one , we all know that but thats not a reason to give her glasses and they Made her skin darker ? Why ?
@@viktoriaschweizer8724 Girls On a Mission was a re imagining of the Core 5. So obviously things were changed to cater to a fresh new audience. And also Olivia was Mexican, if that answers your question about the skin colour change.
@@dangerbuffrockyoh, okay, well thank you
ik there’s a lot of like controversy surrounding the line in itself but genuinely lego friends was everything to me, the tv shows and lego sets where my obsession
As far as I’ve seen, the controversy of it being sexist went away over time, I mean fox did that whole segment about lego friends being woke but literally no one took that seriously
