- I gotta tell you, if I was a Star Wars or Marvel Lego fan I'd be a much bitterer (is that a word) person with all the inconsistencies between the show and the sets in the Lego Friends line. Lucky I don't care, really. But just for funsies, here are eight(ish) reasons to pout and complain about Lego Friends, if you want to.

You can bring back the Darlington's and pretend everything is the same but that the Darlington's had done something that meant a lot to Emma's family and they decided to name their children after them.

All rants aside, that was some hilarious commentary. Laughed at every detail at how the LEGO Friends minidolls oftentimes don't look accurate to their show counterparts, as well as their alternate outfits, plot holes (characters in the show do not reappear in future seasons), and minor Heartlakian citizens not appearing in the series..

I truly don’t understand why they reused names from the OG series as new characters in the reboot 🤷🏻♀️. There are so many names in this world, why choose the same ones over again? But eh, it’s a little thing (which still bugs me) 😘
@@ellieVthats true, but lego kinda has to go with names that are easily pronounced in a good number of languages, such as english, french, german, danish, dutch, spanish and many more, so after a little while you will run out of those names, so i can see why lego did decide, with a reboot in mind, to choose names already used. Kids that just get into lego prob dont have a pre reboot sophie or the rare henry.
But i can see what you mean and i hope this clapback doesnt offend u. Still love ya and i hope to see the darlingtons make a reboot, with THEIR ORIGINAL NAMES OC.
Oh I know what you mean. But there are still heaps of names they could have chosen, they repeat quite a few. Kids aren’t stupid, they’ll
happily embrace names they’ve never heard before. The reboot did some very confusing and unnecessary things, IMO. Which is, after all, just my opinion 😂. Imma just here happily building the sets and enjoying the minidolls and trying not to get confused by the inconsistencies 😂😘

Yes, there are so many inconsistencies, some bug me more than others, like with Andrea's mom. The thing that bothers me most is that Olivia's minidoll does not have a full braid. Emily Jones isn't using that braid hair piece any more, maybe Olivia could wear it in at least one set, just saying.
I knooooow! Though they’re starting to sneak in different hairstyles for the girls occasionally, Olivia hasn’t seen one yet.

Maybe the Darlingtons moved out of Heartlake City and if they were good friends with Emma's mum then Emma's mum decided to name their kids after Sophie and Henry to remember them. Random Theory.

I agree!! I wish they had kept the same continuity too! Lego shows like Ninjago for example gave the characters the movie designs but they continued to keep the main storyline going and continued to acknowledge previous seasons. I guess the original lego friends didn’t line with their vision they have for the new show. I’m obsessed with the new character designs and the animation is just BEAUTIFUL if they had only kept the original show plot then it would have been *chef kiss*

Me too. I used to be obsessed with LEGO Friends but they took everything I loved about it away. I'm an artist. I used to get so exited over LEGO Friends that I drew so many comics with my own oc's using basic elements and concepts from webisodes and episodes. I legitimately wouldn't the artist I am now without that push.

I have a theory for the school. What if Olivia was a student teacher (basically interning as an assistant while in teacher school) instead of a student? It doesn’t explain all her other jobs 😂 but then they could be in their 20s instead of high schoolers.
Another discrepancy is a name change for Emma's mum between the old Emma's house (mom Charlotte) and the new mall (June).

I see what Ellie means! What is going on in the LEGO Friends universe. It's like Ellie said, "LEGO Friends is messed up." We actually need minidolls that reflect their in series counterparts and new hair moulds. We also need confirmation on where River went. I mean HE HAS CELEBRITY PARENTS! We learn that in the jungle season! Wouldn't his parents be even the slightest bit concerned? My guess right now is no.🤣🤣🤣 I think it's time to start a new hashtag. #fixlegofriends
im going to be honest. even tho of the inconsistencies this is my favourite version of lego friends. the 3d show is very aestheticaly pleasant and the lego sets are very creative.

one thing that annoys me with Lego Harry Potter (and I think it annoys some other people) is reusing faces. Ginny and Luna have the same face in the chamber of secrets set. For starters Ginny is ginger, her face in the minifigure series was perfect, same with Luna. Another thing about them is mainly the 2020 sets, leg and skirt printing, Lego was just being lazy here. It would of looked perfect if they printed them, I'm mainly talking about Molly and Bellatrix. I know Lego can do it because in the minifigure series all the figures are perfectly printed and look stunning. Both the burrow set and minifigure series two came out in the same year (2020). I still love the sets but some things just get on your nerves.
I agree with a lot of these, I have a thought on Sophie and Henry, can't it be possible to have 2 kid's and 2 adults with the same exact name? I have many friends with the same name, that way you can keep the triplets and the new kid's

Well, Sophie and Henry could just be called mr and mrs darlington or like some shows do, “mrs violet’s mom” or something like that. I do think that mini doll printing is actually a lot harder than we realize. Emma’s dress sleeves and skirt would be very difficult to recreate on a curved piece of plastic. And show business is a lot difffrent than toy business. But all of this is just me... and that is all I have to say about the topic. I love your rants Ellie! Do some more!!
THANK YOU ELLIE!!! I've been saying this since the reboot in 2018. It all started with Andrea's hair. I didn't like the new Friends at first because it was so different from the first one. In the old version, the girls actually acted like teenagers, but in the new version, they don't (I'm guessing they're sixteen because they can drive). I've come around to watching the show now, but still don't buy the new sets because of the inconsistencies between the show and the actual LEGO sets. The only set I have come close to buying was the Organic Cafe, until I noticed that 2 out of the 3 characters AREN'T EVEN IN THE SHOW! Who is Ava? Is the grandpa married to Nora? Are they related to Mia? I always laugh at the fact that you have to make up half the backstories for the characters. ALSO, did you notice that Emma called her little sister "Abby" in the show, not "Sophie". Not only that, her stepdad has a beard in the show... so why doesn't his minidoll have a beard? And there is another hair inconsistency... Savannah's. Why does her minidoll have Aurora's wavy hair, while in the show, her hair is straighter then Stephanie's. I DON'T UNDERSTAND!! Lol, but anyway, this video made me laugh! Thank you again!
I wish that they would continue series 4, doing something with the forest stuff (just thinking of the new forest sets), and maybe explore some more into Mia's grandparents and little Ava......come on they're new characters!

It makes me so cross because this is so clearly a gendered issue - the assumption that girls/women don’t care about or won’t notice these kinds of details or if they do that they won’t complain but never daring to do something like this for marvel/Star Wars/even Ninjago because male dominated fandoms are always taken more seriously (same as football fans vs kpop stans - one fandoms emotions are tolerated, the other fandom is treated as hysterical or childish). I love love love the friends world as an AFOL but get so frustrated by how little Lego seem to care about the consumers of their friends sets
You know, I thought of this but was afraid to *think* it, if you know what I mean. Though I’m not sure it’s simply a sexist thing, Lego is pretty consistently inconsistent in their own created themes 😂, Ninjago can be a bit screwy too. It’d be nice if they employed a continuity person and then actually listened to them 🤷🏻♀️
@@ellieV maybe they are sexist because you told that girls didn't play Lego so they start different theme and maybe that's why they don't focus much on this theme ( the elves theme was pretty consistent though ) well let's see where the theme goes

Totally agreed with your statement. Yeah, as a Ninjago fan myself who branched out to LEGO Friends, I kinda also have the same concern regarding the majority of the LEGO community not taking LEGO Friends seriously, because they see it as just another stereotypical girly franchise who just simply do what literally every girly media repeating that same format, which infuriates me. But we all know LEGO Friends is more than just the girls-being-girls stuff. The franchise have characters who have character, talents, abilities, and distinct personalities.
Though for the most part that I'm invested in the franchise is: Digging deeper to the bit of unexplored lore and plot holes about the series, since it just appeared in one episode or two, and move on to the next. Like Kate's heritage originating from a pirate Kate (idk I forgot the name) being just a small side story in the original series, The Explorer's history before they arrived into Heartlake, Carter Greene's true identity, Amelia's possible relation with Olivia, which all of these are just vaguely explained and others never fully explained at all.
Aside from that, I used to to be that person who hated LEGO Friends, but later on, I really regret it. Since when I became a fan, I thought I would see a LEGO channel discussing LEGO Friends deeply, but I rarely would find one...

If you remember, it was actually revealed last season that River's parents are famous after Ethan caught him having a chat with them over the phone in the jungle and Ethan said "Andrea would flip out if she knew they're your parents"
Which brings me to this theory: since River comes in that hotel set with Amelia, what if they turn out to be related?
Yeah this is a little problem sometimes when you watch the shows, there are some questions and incoherences with the Lego sets, but i still LOVE it!🥰we pardon them. Buttt Sophie and Henry? Tragically disappeared?
The girls don't have last names, their ages are unexplained, Olivia's appearance from the 2016 to girls on a mission series is unexplained, Mia is the only girl that wears shorts and not a skirt, It is rare to see the girls wear different clothes other than their regular outfits, we have not seen Livi since the original series, why does Mia have orange hair and not her appropriate red color hair? And many more conservative Lego Friends topics...
I still prefer the old the lego friends. I stopped buying the new sets because one they are more expensive and because they don’t match up with the lego sets. Like the juice bar. At least with the old lego friends they did episodes as as little mini videos that have the sets in there

I think they made the Amelia and Olivia minidolls different for people to be able to tell their minidolls apart but then if they were the same it wouldn’t matter if you swapped them 😂 But there really was no reason for Amelia to look like someone completely different, they could just have made her mouth shape a little bit different or her eyes a slightly different shade?

Here’s a theory I made up! So Henry and Sophie are under a curse somehow, and now they are Emma’s siblings. Let’s pretend Emma and her family don’t know that, since there was a reboot, but Henry and Sophie talk and have conversations like they are the Henry and Sophie in the previous years when everyone’s asleep. I love it so mysterious!

The new Lego's friends is actually good. But the writer of the story is just like... She/ he has forgot her/his own story that she write. Like for example, isn't River has a secret about his family? And just like Ellie told, he just go with the circus team ?!? Like are they were his fam? Oh my... Come on let elliev deal with this lego production problem
Ummm…yeah but how would they find out that his parents are famous? I don’t think Ethan would tell, so does River. Ethan promised he’ll keep the secret and River doesn’t want to share it with anyone, he told Ethan to not tell anyone about it because he avoids fake people and friendships. I don’t think the girls would find out about it out of nothing, it would have to be a a good reason. It’s not that easy to come up with great idea. Being a movie producer is really hard, they need to be creative people. All of their ideas have to match others and it is seriously hard to put them all together. I bet all of the producers who work on Lego Friends (and not only) are creative, imaginative, originative and productive and that they will come up with great idea but who knows… It’s quite possible that such an episode will not even arise but let’s hope that is not true. Well, I’m looking forward to see the episode although i think we will have to wait a LONG time for the one.
@@andzelikandzelika We still didn't know about River parents yet. Maybe he is an orphan (?) So he join the circus team (?). From one to another season is taking so long to wait. But I know it was because animating wasn't that easy.. I hope they can make the story of the girls journey more and more interesting. And now let elliev handle the production team 😌

Omg how did I not see this earlier. Omg this is so true. Like before they changed the girls the sets matched up with the lego sets. All the parents have changed. The characters that I loved have all left. Eg tanya, Sophie, Henry. The animation doesn’t have all the sets in the videos.

Like Ellie is saying, Lego Friends is a great show, very nice. But the thing is, everything is just....everywhere. Unknown ages, mixed up characters, minidolls, and sets. I hope to see more cleaning up on the series in the next few episodes and seasons. ♡
By the way, I think Liz is about 6-8 years old according to the show. They mention something about Liz's age when Andrea started talking about the first time Liz rode on training wheels when she was 6 or 7 in Sister Act (S1 E3).

I had no idea there was a tv show of the lego friends🤣so when my daughter began to show interest I bought her the mini sets that had the pairs and we got all 5 of the “original” friends. I wish Lego makes a figure set that includes only the dolls. Buying sets we end up woth repetition of dolls. 🤦🏻♀️This video was fun!

Tbh I saw the reboot and notice the change they got and it was a BIG DIFFERENCE Emma now asian, and Olivia is Hispanic I believe they couldn't have started out with them like that they were all originally white if I remember except Andrea it bothered me that they changed a character race like that instead of doing it in the first place
