    Clearly someone forgot to tell the ST that it's a FWD car because damn that little ST just loves to oversteer.

    This isn't a fair comparison though as the Fiesta ST is on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, the Yaris is on older Bridgestone Potenza's and the Polo GTi is on Michelin Pilot Sport 4's (if it's using the 18 inch tyre option). Rematch with all cars using the Pilot Super Sports?
    I still think the Fiesta ST is likely the fastest but I think the Yaris would clinch a close second on the same tyres.

    • @VVH1997

      dont thinks it going to make that much of a diffrence? te potenza's used on the yaris are quit a sporty tire.

      @@VVH1997
      In real world driving, it wouldn't make much difference, no. On a trackday, the type of tyre being used can make a substantial difference in lap time - especially when we are looking at a track of this length. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport has been proven to be the best tyre (for this tyre size). It is objectively faster than the bridgestone tyre.

      @@VVH1997
      Oh yeah, of course you could go more hardcore than the Michelin Super Sport for fun.
      I just mean for the mainstream (which is more road biased), the Super Sport is the go to tyre in this category and is better than the other two tyre types used in this video (the Pilot Sport 4 and the Potenzas)...So just saying that its an unfair test when the other two cars have better tyres.

      But the ST walks over both the VW and the Toyota despite being heavier than Toyota and despite having a manual rather than DSG like in VW, and despite being a dancer in the circuit, think about the STs laptime if it wasnt for that drift
      SO I feel the ST is the best FWD hot hatch ever made, period!!
      Toyota and VW can fight for the spoils

    • @AUTOBILDSPORTSCARSTV
      @AUTOBILDSPORTSCARSTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Our best laptime with the GRMN on the sportier tire was a 1:44,66 min, so still slower than the Fiesta and much slower than the Peugeot 208 GTI. You can find the laps here on the channel if you like.

      @@ponygt6629 Toyota already won for me. :-) I don't care for automatics and love the supercharger over a 3-cilinder turbo. On another channel I saw the GRMN beat the Polo with more then 2 seconds on another circuit. I dare to admit that Fiesta is a tad faster, but I just don't like the car and its engine too much.

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well, then you are in for a LOSS, Do remember this is not a Fiesta RS and not a hardcore light weight stripped down FWD hot hatch like the Clio Cup RS or the GRMN Toyota, its got all the modern safety features, comforts and convenience and yet its able to beat the crap out of a track hooned Toyota, says a lot about Fords FWD car expertise
      Now the 3 cylinder turbo, first thing U must do is, get out of the internet and go drive the new Fiesta ST, I drive a 2013 Fiesta ST has 78000 kms on odo and I was a sucker for big NA engines and hated the theme of the i3s and small displacement engines, but just drove the new ST a few weeks back and boy,I was in for a surprise, true it dosent rev hard like an NA motor power tapers off past 5800 rpm, but the punch it offers in the 2000-5500 rpm in unmatched, coupled with Fords insane Quaife LSD, this thing steers way better than any FWD car I ve ever driven, yes, I even include the Megane RS Cup car in this list, the Megane obviously was slightly better but its too much focused machine, the ST is like the Porsche of FWD cars , VW, Toyota etc are no match for it.

      @@ponygt6629 The Fiesta might be a little bit faster, but as I said before, I prefer the drivetrain of the Yaris (that's why I bought it). But I still don't understand how that Polo is faster here. Maybe because there are many straight lines in this circuit? It doesn't look to feel too comfortable in corners. In a corner filled track, I think the Yaris will win. As I said before, on another channel it "destroys" the Polo. I guess it depends on driver and circuit.
