      In Ahmedabad, Gujarat India also have kind of bus system but that's called BRTS(bus rapid transit system). In India metro means, metro rail system only. Not much crowd in Islamabad, I think they require this system in karachi (may be metro rail will be more beneficial there due to large population) political ads should not be there on public transport. We don't see here.

    I used the blue line service for a while to commute from f-11 to gulberg greens. I was a female travelling completely alone with a laptop bag and personal belongings, both in the morning and the evening. The bus itself is 100% safe and free from harassment, which is amazing. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the stations, especially since switching buses means having to walk between stops sometimes. Men do stare and sometimes follow you once you step outside of the station. There were always gaurds and staff present at the stations which was a plus, although I don't know how much they would actually help in a proper harassment situation
    Overall I do really love this system. I could not continue to use it because the stops were too far away from my house, so I had to grab a taxi/careem to just get the stop which was expensive. Also the commute is actually quite long especially since I was working a 9 hour shift so almost 2-3 hours would spent spent on just commuting. I hope the system expands even more so that people can walk just 10 mins to grab a bus

    very interesting and informative, the Peshawar BRT has an updated well informative mobile app, where you can trace the next upcoming bus timing, updated map station info, and most effective is you can recharge your app wallet through easy paisa , also u can use your app for journey as a ticket since it generate QR code, the second best thing is in Peshawar BRT you can travel in one single one time ticket through the connecting routs also but if you exit and swep then it will expire, but the mobile app is very handy and you will be charge according to the distance. but here most of the people are using BRT card which is handy and easy to operate, but mobile app is also good and for trip planning.

    • @shahnazbegum9027
      @shahnazbegum9027 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right. The Peshawar BRT is much better than the Metrobuses in Punjab because PTI can run the country more competently than PMLN can. And anyway the Peshawar BRT was built to fulfill the city's transportation needs while the PMLN's metros were hastily built without wider public transit planning just to win the next election (thankfully Punjab's voters still booted PMLN out of power and elected PTI).
      But I still have one big criticism against the Peshawar BRT: If the KPK government and the Asian Development Bank went through all the massive expense of building an elevated grade-separated exclusive right-of-way lane and modern computerized ticketing, then they should also have spent a little bit more and used electric trains rather than fossil fuel-burning buses as their rolling stock.
      Electric trains have a higher initial cost but they are much cheaper in the long run than buses. Electric trains have much longer lifespans than buses, they are much cheaper to maintain, they have zero hydrocarbon emissions, they make much less noise as they pass by, they have better mobility, torque and acceleration, they can ascend steep inclines much more easily, and they can run faster and carry many more passengers. To build such a complex and expensive infrastructure and then have fossil fuel-burning buses rather than electric trains is utter insanity.
      The feeder vehicles should also have been either electric trams or electric trolleybuses rather than fossil fuel-burning buses. Any vehicle that runs on an electric engine produces zero air pollution and zero noise pollution, is much cheaper to maintain, and has a lifetime spanning decades. And they are ideal for Peshawar's hilly terrain since an electric engine-powered vehicle can much more effortlessly climb hills and inclines.

    • @shahnazbegum9027
      @shahnazbegum9027 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an example, look at the newly opened REM light rail in Montréal, Canada.
      And trains and buses drawing power from overhead electric wires have been running for over a century, so this is an old, tried, tested and proven technology.

    Great to see the Metro Bus system and the constructive criticism/opinion. Hope to see our two countries rise above the Hate politics and move into Infra politics :) We are proud that Delhi Metro is one of the best in Asia (if not the world) and they are now offering their expertise to develop Metro systems all across India. It has also reduced the dependency on other foreign agencies and I think that should be replicated in other Asian countries as well. But the comment about Govt Ads on Kashmir and India was hilarious and interesting. We don't see the same here in India. Govt Ads yes but not Kashmir/Pakistan.

Your videos about solar panels, gas cylinders, and now public transit are very helpful. Please make some video in the future about remote property management in Pakistan. Many expats have properties in Pakistan which they want to maintain but it is so difficult to do so. I'm wondering if there are any trustworthy property managers in Pakistan who could maintain properties for a fee.

    One of the reasons they don’t allow you to film in these spaces is because of the presence of women, obviously you’re not recording them but you know they sort of just assume the worst and try not to take a risk just in case anyone is recording women or children. The other reason is because of the security issues that were once prevalent in the country. Yes, things are better, but some of the aftershocks still remain. And the last reason is obviously just our general lack of knowledge of how public spaces and rights work.

    The name of the station in red line was also centaurus when the bus service was started if I am correct but later they changed it to PIMS since centaurus is a private mall and they didn't want to advertise it without charging them. Maybe for the Green Line, CDA is charging them. However, the orange buses have 'Faisal Movers' ads on them now.

    • @alisaiem5941
      @alisaiem5941 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe it is because the buses are being operated by Faisal Movers rather than advertisements. Similarly, if I am not wrong, the Multan Metrobus is operated by Daewoo Express so they have their names on the buses.

    • @umer2877
      @umer2877 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They changed it as people found it hard to figure how to reach PIMS (most people use it to go to PIMS, not Centaurus hence the change).

    The government needs to market this public transport. I live in islamabad and yet I was unaware of this convenience.
    Also they should be improving their ticketing system. You should’ve been able to buy a single ticket so that you could conveniently travel without appearing on every single reception.
    They should also paint the stops according to their bus colors.
    I mean there are a lot of other improvements in my mind but lack of awareness is something that should be improved.

    Now I Understood why Peshawar BRT is better then these Metros. You Can buy bus Card 💳 also you can you use your Mobile app for travelling. You shouldn't need to change different buses as the Buses also run on Feader Routes and you shouldn't need to buy new ticket you can change the bus directly.
    Also there are many private advertisements in the Buses and Stations which helps them to generate handsome revenue

    Loved the way you explain everything but I really don't know why this happens that your video lags a lot and keep loading even if my internet is working normally. I watch other videos which doesn't loads I really don't know what's the reason behind it.

    Ticketing should be on one time universal card chargeable (swiping) across all metro buses in the country with rechargeable through mobile banking apps..

    Informative and well made video . However I personally do not agree with the advertising idea you shared around @17:00 until the commercials / ads are not electronically generated on some kind of screens . Paper ads will make it look ugly .
    Plus there is a correction needed in your caption, this orange line buses service to airport started during PDM not PTI .

    You should visit Metro in Lahore & buses in Lahore. Use a prepaid card for ticket passes all over. It's amazing.

    Peshawar brt mein adds bhi hain . Bohot pesa kamaya jata hai.or Peshawar brt mein kor red orange line nahi B's ro card hai or ek he line hai Jo har jaga ke dusre line ke Sath connected hai 50rs mein ek jaga de har jaga
