    Thoroughly impressed.
Its the quality that matters, not quantity. Having 1+ kanal house with old/outdated fittings, non-invertor ACs, no solar panels, no lawn etc, wont give you quality of life as compared with a 10 marla house but having net metering solar system, invertor ACs, automation, small lawn.
Hamare yaha sara focus quantity pe hota hai, quality aur long-term living cost pe nahi.

I mean lets forget this fancy electronic stuffs and take an example of bathroom tiles...
I have seen many 1 kanal houses where in the bathrooms, the tiles were not all the way to the ceiling, they left around 2 foot from the top and paint it... instead of tiling it.
Now, whoever is constructing a 1 kanal house is not a hard-pressed person from any angle but still they leave that top bit just to save few bucks and in the long term, it ends up costing the owner more coz of seepage and thus repainting ever few years.
You have lived in GCC and so have I and the best thing I observed was that the bathroom tiles are always all the way to the ceiling. Most kitchen tiles also, in Pakistan there is no norm of tiling the kitchen walls but its very common in GCC.
These things are so practical but here, all the focus is on colourful ceilings, uncoordinated spotlights, 17 different types of floor tiles, etc. There is no coordination or uniformity... and all this in the name of 'modernism' and 'contemporary'.
I find old houses, that were constructed in 70s and 80s, to be more practical. Just have a drive in the inner streets of F6, F7 and F8 and the old houses are so much more practical... you get to see sloping roofs, veranda and staff quarters in the ground floor (very practical). Unlike today where staff quarters are constructed on the roofs so that the occupants can get cooked alive in summer.

Great video, the only glaring omission was pricing, some idea would have been great. I did a few of these mods in my house back in early 90s when I was in Pakistan, converted outdoor lights to single Photocell, installed PIR based security system, installed UPS for power backup of selected lights & fans, converted the UPS to auto-charging for battery and few others. Had plans to convert the main gate to powered operation, left Pakistan for good before continuing more projects. Felt nostalgic to see someone else also doing such projects. Keep it up.

    Great video. A few quesitions
    1. Does it tell which appliance is consuming most energy or how many units a single appliance has consumed so far ?
    2. If we want to see units consumed in each floor. Can we see that as well ?
    3. Most importantly how much did it cost.

      1. It doesn’t and I wish they add this feature in the future.
