I love that ransom became a captain. Throughout the show he showed great decision making and how to deal with the crew and to make them better. And his phrase engage the core is so him.
I agree. I was surprised that Mariner and Boimler ended up as co-first officers, one being stick to the rules and protocol, while another is completely opposite and being adventurous.
Plus I would like to look on more to their adventures. Boimler and Mariner are no longer lower decks and must compete each other for a permanent first officer position. And the episode did reveal Fletcher, who was busted from the Titan and sent to Earth in the “Terminal Provocations” appeared to be working on Starbase 80, watching the Cerritos go.
@@tim_thailand9569 They're not first officers. There can be only 1 first officer, hence why Mariner said it's not a thing. Ransom used a loophole allowing more than 1 person to do the job (as a "provisional" appointment) without actually being promoted. If I had to guess, he probably did it to force a conflict between Boimler and Mariner that will ultimately allow both to accept formal advancement of one of them without any actually serious long term drama. Ransom is certainly sneaky like that.
@@shaftoe195 I might have actually didn't made it clear. The "co-first officers" by my first reply is of course as provisional first officers, and I already said that on a second reply that both of them would have to compete against each other for a "permanent" first officer position which I know there can be one. And we know now that Ransom is sneaky genius, crafted his idiot jock persona to trick the junior officers into working together and getting along by having them focus their ire on himself rather than on each other in the "Upper Decks".
A fantastic and satisfying ending and a great setup for 2 potential spin-offs. It's like they looked at how TNG ended and Voyager and DS9 started and thought we can do better and they did!
I definately going to missed Star Trek lower decks Series because it's the second animated Serious with hilarious comedy that makes us laught and I'm happy to see a very few wish lists have came true before the Series comes to the end.
Farewell, crew. The strongest ship in Starfleet, if one measures by heart. P.S. Upload the full ending, including Freemans' departure and Mariner's speech.
I've seen Freeman's departure already uploaded in youtube. But If you want all of it; Freeman's departure, Mariner's speech and Cerritos under Ransom in one video, sure I'll upload soon when I have time.
God I hope not! I'm already beyond disappointed they killed Jennifer/Beckett. I don't want Beckett to be dating this guy, no matter how much he changed. Don't kill a good lesbian ship just so you can prompt up an unequal heterosexual one.
@aaronthomson3639 you mean sapphic ship, not lesbian ship. beckett is not a lesbian she's pansexual, which is established in season 1. dating a man wouldn't make her any less pansexual.
@@blazypika2 I'm just wondering if the Gap and rank is too big. I know in real life military they have rules against relationships between unequal ranks but I'm not sure how that works in Starfleet.
@@Igarappappa it can potentially cause problems which is i think what ransom was referring to when asking "is this going to be a problem?", so it can be frowned upon but even in real life militaries it's not against the rules per se (though i guess that can depend on the country). i think if people can separate their professional and personal lives and maintain healthy boundaries it can work just fine. i think we can safely say ransom will not give mariner special treatment and that she wouldn't want him too, nor would mariner date a superior officer just to get ahead. also note that carol freeman is dating an admiral, a superior and starfleet is okay with it.
@blazypika2 ultimately I think the issue comes if the person is a direct subordinate because then if the situation goes bad it could cause unfair treatment. But again Starfleet is its own thing so they probably have different rules for that.

Hopefully he’s not as bad as the Captain Ransom from Voyager

the other boimler in the background i can't
William Boimler got his own journey with the crew of the Anaximander now. I hope they make more about him.
T'Lyn sounds so excited about the goo, I love it.
I bet they've been holding on to that little birdy joke for years.

Nice banter Jack has with the bridge crew.
Sparrow, Harkness and now Ransom. That's three captain Jacks.
How cool is that?

It's amazing about when it started people didn't approve of it but as it went on it earned everyone's love and respect ^^
Engage the core. Perfect for Ransom, the buffest captain in starfleet 😀
Lower Decks was the best Trek
Other trekkies may not agree. But if you ask me? Hell yeah it is!

I bet you it'll be an interesting season if they continue the show 1:47
I could really go for spinoffs of this show. It's like Rick and Morty, only better.
