    Wow thank you so much for making this informative video! I’ve been looking at their reading kits and was very interested. I absolutely love all their other products but was a bit on a fence for the reading kits because it seemed very overwhelming with so many parts and games. But then I remembered that each lovevery kit comes with instructions and what to introduce first and next. Thank you so much for bringing in the families, this makes video production so much more challenging and I so appreciate the effort and time you put into this helpful video! Thank you so much!

    I’m a mom and an English teacher in Korea and my kids are bilingual but at school they mostly only speak Korean and their English education is up to me so I was so excited to get the email when this released! I’ve ordered ours and my son is learning to read and your videos have helped me explain things to him, but I’m excited for a hands on and comprehensive way to teach him in a way that makes him feel more confident and excited ❤ I’m anxious to see how it is in person but it looks fantastic and I was a Lovevery subscriber for a long time so we have looots of experience with Lovevery products. I usually love to sit down and read the guide books before I give my son the play kits and they are always really well-written.

    Omg i have jumped into your videos recently. I'm not a native speaker, i'm vietnamese and try to learn the english but almost the teacher in my country have taught us with IPA sound and i realized this is difficult for us to reading a new word. Because we cant know the rule we have to remember the sounds not how the letter make sound. When i saw your videos i know what i need to study to became a fluent speaker. Thanks a lot❤❤❤❤

    I've been using Lovevery sets with my son since he was 3 months old. At a year and a half I find he loves their toys the most out of all the toys he gets. They are high quality and build on each other. They only other brands that comes close I've found is Manhatton Toy Company and Melissa and Doug. I've also been watching your videos and its great that you are working with them.

    I really appreciate the “things to consider” section of this video. Especially the point about this not being a minimalist set. It’s the first thing that stood out to me. Still might be worth it, but a set with this many small pieces is a big responsibility for parents. So it should be considered.

    I love this reading skill set. After the TCR email announcement came out, I ordered all three parts. After using Part 1 for the last few weeks my kids love the games. I have to admit, the compound word pairs card game is actually still stumping my 5 year old, but he loves the syllable race, rhyming leaves, sound maze thing, blocks. They also love the two big books. Both ask me to read the ABCs with Mr. Z multiple times a day. Love that the book clarifies the short sounds like /b/ instead of ‘buh.’ The efficacy, fun, & visual and tactile quality of the materials= 10 in our house. The only thing I’d rate like an 8.5-9 is the compound word pair game. Love that you posted the letter hitting game thing in another short video. I took the groups outlined by Lovevery (a,m,t,s,i,f; b,e,l,n,r,v; etc) and played that game. My kiddo who could only identify one letter now knows all the sounds & even tries to write. I have tried a bunch of other stuff- How to teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons, All About Reading, Hooked on Phonics subscription/books- and this Lovevery kit is the first that has it clicking for my 5 yo. Now he’s blending to do 3 letter words. KUDOS to you/Lovevery! To see my kid talking & excited about the games is well worth the price (esp since he had an expressive language delay and for a period of time people thought he had selective mutism). This Reading Skill Set rocks. Looking forward to breaking open the other parts in time!

    Hi Spencer, my question is - does the kit include detailed instructions on where to begin? Is there a lesson plan of sorts that I can follow? I need a LOT of hand holding, have no clue where to start. I'm a loyal fan of Lovevery play kits, been a subscriber since baby was born, and I also love your channel, so this is a perfect match!

      Hi there, there are expert videos you'd have access to and lots of tips for how to use the games and materials. There is less of a "lesson plan" approach, that's one way my courses could support parents as they use the kit.

    What is ur opinion on using this stuff for mild autistic kids who need extra help and recognise alphabets..

    • @toddlerscanread
      @toddlerscanread  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The key here is that it's 1:1 instruction using a super high quality program. And to me it's not only HELPFUL for kids autism (and other learning differences), but it's what they DESERVE.

    • @JillKai-k6g
      @JillKai-k6g 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@toddlerscanreadamen! There’s no such thing as mild-severe autism. Those are outdated, ableist words. I appreciate this response. It’s about neurodivergence and what each child’s/individuals needs are. It’s imperative to understand this. Always assume competence.

    What age would these be good for have a 21 month old

    • @toddlerscanread
      @toddlerscanread  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      There's advice on age in the final recommendations at the end! Kids can definitely start learning to read before 2 (I started with my son around 18 months) but you'll have to be careful what you purchase since there are some small parts in The Reading Skill Set which makes the recommended age 3+

      Hey there, it helps to play lots of games with just a few sounds at a time. And your little one doesn’t necessarily have to say the sound back to identify the sounds. For example: “jump on the sound that says S”, and she jumps on that sound. More info here in my free training if you haven’t had a chance to watch it: www.toddlersread.com/pages/free-workshop

    Thank you Spencer for your hard work into these books. I have been teaching my daughter through your video's. My next step was to purchase the TCR decodable books through your website as she has learned 3 letter words. After seeking this video, I would like your opinion if I should hold off on the decodable book and invest in the Lovevery Reading Skill set first?

    • @toddlerscanread
      @toddlerscanread  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That really depends on your goal, and you won't go wrong either way. The TCR decodable books are great for practicing after 3-4 sound words. Any of the 3 parts of the Reading Skill Kit will give you lots of materials to practice skills in a hands-on, fun way with your child.

    Hey! We have 5 kiddos all of which are 9 and under. Our 3 oldest have struggled to read for different reasons even with the help of a tutor. We are currently on our 8th reading curriculum trying to find something that works well with our kids and their learning differences. Any advice for our family? I think the lovevery box will work well with the currículum we are currently using.

    • @toddlerscanread
      @toddlerscanread  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey there, I’d recommend finding which part you think will match your reader’s skill level the closest and then get really clear on the phonics skills your 3 oldest know and don’t know to make the best use of the materials in the kit and your curriculum you’re using. If you want more direct support on how to teach those reading skills, my video courses might be helpful to you. I’d recommend checking out my free beginning reading workshop made for parents- while the skills might be too advanced for your oldest, it will give you a good overview of the learning to read process and an idea of if my online courses would be helpful to you. www.toddlersread.com/pages/free-workshop

      Also, it's all from China! They are paying Chinese wages while we are paying domestic prices. I was infuriated to learn that. I had assumed it was made with higher standards of materials but they just call it "non toxic " even though we all know the term "non toxic" means vastly different things to our government vs. theirs (and ours isn't even that great! 😂) what China considers "safe" is definitely not even close to what I want anywhere near my child or in our home.
