Just curious ! How does the tie down ropes on the end of the awning go with the electric awning in winds . We have ordered a new van and new to the electric awning setup ?
It’s great with light to medium wind strength but anything strong we just get it in just in case. We saw someone’s snap in half once so we’re a bit paranoid lol 😂
Hello guys. We have the same van as yours. Can we ask, what brand of anti flap kit did you purchase ? We are having difficulty finding the correct one. Kind regards John and Angela.
We bought the Aussie traveller one, there are 3 different sizes, we got the medium one. You have to measure the width of your awning because apparently they all can be different even if you’ve got the same van ( that’s what the salesman said). We bought it from Brisbane Camperland. Hope you get it sorted Denise & Gary 👌😍
@@turtletrackstravels with the flap do.they have a grove for the sun shades to slid in to so.the shades are held in place when used thank you great video all the videos I've watch leave that part out
You are lucky our awning is a dometic we are on our 2nd one in 5 1/2 years and this one is just about gone next time I will have to get better quality material
@@rosshall7746 that’s unlucky, ours is the Carefree one that came with the caravan, seems pretty good, every now and then we give it a good clean and spray with silicone spray in the arms 👍

Looks great! 👏🏻💙
Thanks 😍
Excellent video! I was having trouble getting the two sections to slide together, but thanks to your video, I've worked it out :)
Thanks for watching, glad you were able to work it out. Happy travels 😊
Thanks mate. Great video!
Cheers mate! 👍😊
I have same awning what size awning did you use and you more confident to leave it out in the wind thanks for the video
Awning is approx 4.2m by 2.2m, we leave it out with light to medium winds but still get it in with stronger winds 😊
@@turtletrackstravels thanks
Hi nice video what position do you have the barrel in to drill 8mm hole instructions say 3 o'clock yours looks about 6 o'clock.
Hi I set the barrel so the mesh sun screen slid in from one end, if you don’t line it up you can’t get your mesh sun screen in.hope that helps
@@turtletrackstravels Thank you for that its the only way it can go to line up for the sun shade cheers Glenn
Do the awning shade walls slide into them.when they are fitted
Yes they have a track for awning walls. Sorry I’ve taken ages to get back to you, been in Cape York with limited wifi 😊
Hi Mate, just wondering, did you install the AFK whilst it was windy? If so did you fully set up your awning to do that?
Cheers
No mate it was very calm😃
@@turtletrackstravels yes fair enough too windy at the moment

Hey mate, great video just what I was looking for literally. What size screws you end up going for?
I think they were about 20mm....stainless....I just keep them.......thanks for the nice comment....😃👍
Isnt the awning barrel supposed to be at the 3 oclock position before marking/ drillinf holes?
Hi I set the barrel so the mesh sun screen can slide in from one end, if you don’t line it up you can’t get your mesh sun screen in. 😀

Yes it clamps onto the shade sail
They make a huge difference don't they
Life changing LOL.. 🥰
Then your awning shrinks and you have to drill new wholes in the barrel then it shrinks some more so on and so on
We haven't had that problem, ours hasn't shrunk or stretched
You are lucky our awning is a dometic we are on our 2nd one in 5 1/2 years and this one is just about gone next time I will have to get better quality material
