I keep starting in 1066 as (custom) Count of Besterce in Hungary which I immediately drop in favor of Szatmár county with the goal of staying a Count. Good luck. If you play too good and help your monarch too much you get handed land and a promotion to Duke. (Szatmár is De Jure county of Bihar, Besterce belongs to Fehér)
@@DaFloove yeah, the Hungarians are always up to wild stuff. If the monarch does give me Bihar I try to hold that and Szatmár. With all the baronies, it shouldn't be a problem to hit desmesne limit. I do like to merge with the Czech culture because there's just no farmland in Bihar or De Jure counties. Probably wouldn't make a great video. It's probably tied with Poland for unpronounceable European names.

Just an 11 minute snack! How would you feel if I made more regular shorter observer vids like this? I thought it was actually fun to play and maybe I could hammer them out more regularly - IDK
@@somenitrogenconsumer8859 I would like to be more consistent with posting (once/week). The current vids take a while to edit, but this was about half the time. If this was an entertaining and acceptable way for me to play then I’ll gladly do more - is definitely just observing and having fun doing so - though, I suppose this run was cut short by….losing haha

another banger, mister floove! maybe the hardest challenge is to play as Genghis Khan but be a pacifist and only use diplomacy to create the great Mongol empire to ever exist edit: maybe have his name be ZENghis Khan. you know, cuz he's totally zen and chill and non violent you know?
@@DaFloove literally came up with it after watching this vid. personally ive never seen anyone do ZENghis, or a peaceful/pacifist khan but i could be wrong
CK3 In a nutshell: 1. Get over 20k levy (Other countries won't attack you) 2. Get some way to get non agression pacts from big vassals (Polyamory) (Even -100 vassal will accept marraige with your inbred son) That's it. Everything else is just window dressing. All the "Tall" strategies are redundant since no one will attack you once the 2 objectives are met. Ck2 had the same problem, it had to introudce defensive pacts and coalitions from Eu4 as a default setting. I think Ck3 is going in a different way by making the game more and more complicated, which is the same thing they did with HOI. Supply lines, fuel, command power mana, agencies all weren't in the game previously.
This is exceptionally true. I find myself having to create new rules for myself to play. One I quite enjoy is playing as my favorite child no matter what succession or what they inherit. The game becomes boring when all of my objectives are met, but if I’m the 4th child that inherits a duchy in the largest and strongest empire on earth then it becomes more interesting as I seek to take back what I built.
@@DaFloove my guess is that during the civil war, a dissolution faction formed against the kingdom, and the faction pressed its demands, and the King just said ok, so the title of France was destroyed. Dissolution factions have never been particularly balanced, and have been historically quite buggy.

Dude, I’ve gotta say that the second time I did this with Karl Karling a more interesting story emerged than one that I have played in CK3 myself. The familial deceit runs deep in Karl’s line

Try holding 1 county whilst still expanding and eventually holding an empire with just 1 County all the way through.

Any idea why it was dissolved? My only guess is that somehow when it came time for Herb to get the throne he said “nah, mate” and France exploded
