my lazy cloud technique: Sky, Perlin noise, adjust to satifaction, set to lighten or screen, select free transform, drag bottom to horizon, stretch top out horizontally, put layers on top and paint.

Thank you for making this video! If you make any more ‘Clip Studio Paint’ videos, I would love to see some on how to paint different times of the day, as well as different weather conditions. For example, how would you go about painting nighttime? How would you paint sunrise? How would you paint rainy, snowy, and windy weather?
Videos like these are very helpful to people who want to create their own Webtoon series because environments aren’t easy.

Thanks for taaking yhe time to leave a comment. I'm just having a hard time sorting my schedule out to carve time out to make more tutorials. But hopeful that 2022 is the year i start making more art related videos.

@@figmenter That’s okay. I just thought I would share my opinion on the types of videos I would find useful. Feel free to do whatever works for you. And thank you for taking the time to reply 😊

Can you do a video on how you color your backgrounds? Like, the layer setup you use step by step?

    • @figmenter

What backgrounds are you more interested in? Or what kind of background would you like me to use as a sample?

@@figmenter Well. The way you painted that skyscraper. I tried to follow step by step and slowed the video down, but it got complicated.😅
I animate for fun, and currently I'm working on a project. The thing is, I can draw a nice landscape backdrop, I just don't know how to color it properly without it looking terrible.
So I came here and saw your video. I thought, yeah something like that, but how? It's not easy to explain, I know.
If you could paint a similar backdrop and explain each step as you go, I'd be forever greatful.

@@SkullyX99 I just checked out your channel. I've become your 100th sub.
Okay. I can find this piece and make a breakdown of how I did the buildings. 😁

I downloaded the Gradient set but now I’m not sure how you got it to appear in the Gradient Map :’)

Oh nvm, for anyone that sees this: Click the Gradient Map > Wrench icon > add gradient Set

My gradient map barely adds any color

It could be that the base is too light. You can try inserting a correction layer (levels adjustment) between the gradient map and the base then tweaking it a bit to get the desired results.
