Outside paint - I'd go sage green, like the colour of your hat in the closing sequence. It'll blend in (for Craig). And then you can add a contrasting trim colour for the wavy roofline, windows, and porch railing - like bubble gum pink or sunny yellow (for you). Best of both worlds. (I'm a natural wood person myself. But you do you!)

I think the outside of the cabin should be a sort of sage green, then you can paint on wild flowers and autumn leaves and all that sort of thing. It would suit the vintage vibes. Love what you’ve done so far, it’s amazing ❤

The larger animals can chase away and make sure no nests get established. It is a lovely cottage! You and Craig should feel proud and I love the way you decorated it! I hope you go with something like pink with yellow trim for the outside color… if your going to have a bougie and glam girly cottage- go the whole way!

Before you paint the outside spray it with a deep penetrating wood sealer or primer the cabin is made of soft wood if it’s not treated in damp Scottish weather it will rot quickly

I think that a nice dark Green would match the couch inside, match the surroundings outside & would look absolutely lovely! Quirky touches could be added in outside decor, fairy decor would be so cute with the green!

It's very much like the home I grew up in. If Momma liked it, it came in no matter if it matched anything or not. ❤
I think a nice woodsy dark green on the outside would look lovely. For the quirky, you could paint the door and window frames a mustard yellow to keep it in warm tones! Looks absolutely lovely inside

I think painting the outside will eventually be a maintenance nightmare. I would suggest a boat varnish to stick with the wood look but a bit darker. You could reserve one area to do a mosaic feature ,maybe the door, that can be changed or updated , I've seen some painted rug ideas , maybe on the veranda to make it more creative and can easily be sanded off for a change

Being that it is so close to the house, I would do the exterior to match the house. You can add pops of color with porch furniture, flower gardens, window boxes, birdhouses, etc. You don’t want it to stand out like a cheap, sore thumb by painting it some totally different color. If it was away from the house, hidden in the trees, then you could go wild with color…see what I mean? Also, just a suggestion, get that loveseat out of the corner by pulling it to the center of that wall, push it out from the wall, and put some kind of coffee table in front of it. You have nothing on that rug, and you should always float your couch if possible, otherwise you have what they call “furniture under arrest”, all your furniture up against the wall. You need some dimension in that room. ❤

Me, myself, would go a dark green or sage color but for you, a soft butter cream color would be awesome. I think of Grandma when i see that color. Then you could name her buttercup. So happy for your dad.😊

With that lovely porch too , Veronica Veranda or simply Wendy as in house 😊 My garden cabin has a bell tent log burner in it, it's a perfect size and it's been in for a few years without issue. Maybe have a look at one of those now you've opted out of the fire. Bell Tent Boutique is where I got mine and it has a window too so you get the full effect.

Cozy all the way-I was WONDERING about the long white curtains but your idea is so clever. And the more you’re in there you’ll come up with more ideas. And yes-follow others suggestions about cementing in the foundation posts plus do rain gutters. Won’t be long til you’ll have more rain and then snow. You both did great!! 👍

Great news about your Dad, Aimee ❤. I think your garden house looks like a Veronica with all those lovely furnishings. Well done, it looks straight out of a posh magazine . With that lovely porch too , Veronica Veranda or simply Wendy as in house 😊 My garden cabin has a bell tent log burner in it, it's a perfect size and it's been in for a few years without issue. Maybe have a look at one of those now you've opted out of the fire. Bell Tent Boutique is where I got mine and it has a window too so you get the full effect.

Cozy all the way-I was WONDERING about the long white curtains but your idea is so clever. And the more you’re in there you’ll come up with more ideas. And yes-follow others suggestions about cementing in the foundation posts plus do rain gutters. Won’t be long til you’ll have more rain and then snow. You both did great!! 👍
Congratulations to Craig for building such good looking & great levelled stairs. My dad a master carpenter would say building quality stairs is a special trade and to acquire that talent is not a simple one!!!

Cheree the Chalet looks lovely. I'd be tempted to go dark with flower boxes on each window bursting with colour. You could then turn it into a gingerbread house for Christmas.
