Ikr I was super surprised when I found out the touchscreen stuff was still in the game. I wonder if this means Nintendo plans on releasing a dualmode where you can use one switch as a gamepad and another for TV. Also maybe they could release a hinge to create an HDS out of the 2 switches

I owned a Switch since it came out and I only ever played handheld :P I the type of person who NEED to multitask, so I always play the Switch while watching something else on TV
@@DannysDome The reason I mainly use handheld is because in TV mode my right joycon has input lag.

I feel like most people don't realize that Mario doesn't have any advantages, but he also doesn't have any DISASVANTAGES (ex. Toad is fast but has bad jumps).

You should do a challenge where you start as Mario, then when you die you switch to Luigi, then once you die as Luigi, you go to Toad, and then Peach when you die as Toad. See how far you can get. This will be called “The 4 Lives Challenge”.

On 3-train, you could’ve used four characters and cat dived into the train with the right-most one.
Edit: you could’ve waited for the blocks to be blown up in 6-tank
Edit 2: the right press at the entrance to world castle should’ve been counted as a “meta-press”
Edit 3: bowser-train could probably be avoided with a similar technique to 3-train
Edit 4: I have no idea how bowser-castle could be done, but reply down below if you think you have an idea.

For world 3-train I think if you go in two player and you make the one on the left ground pound the other character will be facing right
Nico, if you see this comment, for your information, you can use two players to remove some right presses. Ground pounding a player from the right will cause the victim to face right. From there, roll jumps will do the trick, but if you need to move in any other direction, backflips will preserve the direction you face regardless of the direction. I have done SM3DW without pressing UP, and these tricks saved my run, so I think you can utilize these tips too.

Touch screen is in the switch one in handheld mode and u can press R or SR and motion controls to move the cursor

I believe if you go left and do a sideflip, you face to the right upon landing, so you might be able to clear some of the levels that way

This might be a stupid question but how do you do a proper cat dive? Whenever I do it, mine is nothing like Nico's and pretty much everyone's!!

Hold on.
Couldn't you turn your charatcer by ground pounding them with a second character? When you get ground pounded you turn to face the person who pounded you. I'm gonna go try that on the switch version because i don't have the Wii U version, if this works we can cut every in-game right press, but not the one at world 6-C.
So i just tested it. It absolutely works. Now i'll go try this to get past every part of the run that stopped Nico. The two trains, Trick Trap Tower, the tank level, and the final level.
Both train levels are possible. With Toad as the second player, i ground pound peach, then peach does a rolling long jump or three to get onto the train. The entire train is possible assuming you continue to align yourself with the multiplayer ground pound, and long jump cat dive over the water section.
At Trick Trap Tower, the ground pound realignment works a treat and I successfully completed the first tower. Make sure to DIE INTENTIONALLY at the checkpoint, you're going to need the extra time. The first tower is quite time consuming. If you are fast enough with your realignments, you can barely beat the fuzzies back down the tower, and in the same sense, beat the level.
Now i actually don't have the final level unlocked, so i can't test if it's possible. but it probably is using this knowledge. If this works in the Wii U version, the only right press is the one to leave 6-C.
Edit: Yes, 2-3 is also possible by this method. The only constraint this method may have is that it takes time to set up.
3D world is the only decent game exclusive to the Wii U.
With its release on the Switch, The Wii U become more obscure than ever.

Ok, question for you Nico. I've never played 3D world, but I do have a idea to help you beat the train level. If the game is anything like Oddessey, you can do backflips facing certain directions. If you face the left and do a backflip, you might be able to move towards the right. But then again, I dunno if you can do that though.
Continously holding right? Sounds like a half-right press to me!
You can cut down those right presses by at least two (I believe) if you used four players for 3 train and waited for the blocks to break in 6 tank.

Idk for sure, but might it be possible to go right (without pressing right) in the train levels by jumping in the gaps of the railing and then try wall jumping off the little side of it?

you can actually still tap question mark tiles to make the tiles yellow on the bowser's fury version

Now that 3d world is on the switch with captain toad treasure tracker, which originally had special 3d world levels, will those levels be returning?
You should play a 3D Mario game (any game) but each level you can only move in two directions (you can switch which directions every level)

you can use the touchscreen in the switch version to hit those ? platforms
i remember one time while playing the game normally, i was spanning the cat dive button on the level you lost the challenge to and i was able to get onto the train somehow.
maybe you could try that?

for 3-train did you try running down to the ledge and jumping of the small bumps on the wall?
For 3-train, cant u just face left then side flip or in multiplayer get the 2nd player to ground point the 1st which will make him face right, then u can cat dive
