Also if all is one consciouness that would mean experiencing all painful deaths and tortures unless that is also projection and fake - it is one of greatest unsolved problems in philosophy how many becomes one, or how from one becomes many!!! And you cannot rely also that when you are in some horrible pain that it ends or something like fail safe! Because it all evidence supports soul trap hell realm. It is even proven that life is so terrible it can exist on lies. Look how many ppl jumping to new Age BS because ppl want to feel good not truth! You can still suffer in your dream. Imagine being one being that has to go through all suffering all painful deaths and tortures. I am genius, 2E, overexcitabilities and super empath. I experienced all suffering in the world like it would happen to me! Imagine if you have to suffer all painful deaths tortures forever or even if it was once how long that is...

Only Advaita brings the vastness of perspective. Every other Dvaiita/Dualistic schools are narrow. Every Dvaitic school tries to prove that their version of God is the only Truth. Best example: ISCON always trying to prove that Krishna is only God, rest all are Demi Gods

During a myocardial infarction(cardiac arrest) my mind(ego), including all thoughts disappeared. Awareness soared to spaceless infinity and timelessness. 'I' was 'dead' for about 15 minutes, flat-lined. Awareness was never lost at any time. Unlike deep sleep(Turia) luminosity and total Peace and Love permeated all! But there was no 'I', no subject/object duality of any kind, just beautiful experience had by nobody! My question for Swami Sarvapriyananda is how can this experience during my NDE be classified from an Advaita Vedanta perspective???

  • @incivinci

We all came from the single origin, so this way there is only the single ultimate fabric that connects us all.
But just knowing this is not really helping with your pain, suffering, conflict.

    • @takeuchi5760
      @takeuchi5760 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Indeed. At the end of the day, whatever a human is, its basic process in its environment is survival, and pain, suffering are just a side effect of the brain and the body *trying* to optimise for survival. It's incredibly difficult to attain the level of self detachment in which even physical suffering means nothing.
But at least in my experience, knowing that you're not just a wishy washy soul or self in some dark corner of your head means a lot.
That the little old me is basically a story that the brain tells itself to try to prolong the organism's survival, that the free will you feel is an optimization technique masking the fact of causality.
What your existence actually is, is that origin, and everything from the big bang up to this point leading to that neuron firing in your brain as you read this word, that there couldn't have been a different state of the brain at this point in time. Ie. Blame is a useless religious and socio-political construct (similarly praise).
That is something incredibly empowering in the midst of psychological suffering.

In the end this is still a theory.
I still didn’t understand how at the time of crisis this knowledge makes it any better. You still feel the pain, suffering, stress, emotions, heat, cold.
The time when you need to make decisions when the health or reactions of others depend on your decision.
The time you feel the experience you still have to deal with it.

If you recognized that there are some set of senses you have and some you don't possess. You'll know that you can't see the whole picture. Some animals might seems greater than you . And you'll value everything in life . And be aware that things are temporary . Value life while you are a human . This double egmdged sword that a human is can do so much .

It was an excellent podcast where you are trying to ask swamiji, in whatway advaita vedanta helps to solve our daily conflicts apart from other problems. pleasef correct me or ask swamiji whether my way of putting vedanta to solve conflict problem is in line with advaita vedanta or not. It is as follows:
    1. It has been scientifically proved that each one of us have different perceptionas of objects we perceive. Objects include self, other and any thing in the universe.
    2. The perception happens in the respective mind first before we project the same on others . Here we are trying to superimpose our perception on others which results in conflict with the perception of the person on whom this superimposition is being done.
    3. Here the real conflict is not because of differences, it is a question of displaying supremacy of an individual i.e ego irrespective of the abso;ute truth about that projection.
    4. What advaita vedanta says is that in the physical world this conflict is bound to happen and there is no escape from this. The question is along as this difference in opinion is not a life threatning situation, do not waste time in persuing it. This greatness of accepting such difference is a part of physical life experience is possible only when you gradually bring down your ego to zero . It is fear, desire, greed, selfishness of the ego which is making each individual to get in to conflict.
    5. That is why Advaita vedanta says to become a student of vedanta and gain the knowledge or remove his avidya, he should have some prerequisite qualities . Be away from 6 arista vergas and faith in the guru. Here Guru is unchanging, unbiased consciousness and all shisyas's become that consciousness only when you pass that prerequisite. Thise prerequisites are process of making each individual aperson with zero ego.
If the above points are in line with vedanta then the concept of unbiased, unattached conscious is a requirement as pure reference point to bring relative consciousness of each jiva to this universal consciousness reference point.

Conversely, the state of not-knowing is the solution. Vedanta means "the end of knowledge". When one really sees that knowledge is always incomplete, then the immeasurability is evident. "I", the Universe and the Source are this one immeasurable.
Suppose a scientist with a tremendous knowledge in several fields. His complex mental construction - which is derived from that knowledge - about a bird, neither flies nor sings, nor procreates.
Without form or with form, there is only the immeasurable. Division and separation are based on what is not - images, mental representations.
A man asked Ramana Maharshi to say something to him. When asked what he wanted to know, he said that he knew nothing and wanted to hear something from the Maharshi.
RM: You know that you know nothing. Find out that knowledge. That is liberation (mukti).

"i do not know is a tremendous possibility" confidence without clarity leads to disaster. U cannot know the truth if u believe or disbelieve something because belief means assuming something that u do not know. If u genuinely realise that u truly do not know a damn thing about this universe then the possibility of knowing and experiencing the truth becomes a living reality. Dont compare how dwapara was before because it had residue of satya yuga but right now we have a a residue of kaliyuga hence it's difficult to believe in what I'm saying. What i truly want to say is dont believe me or anyone or any book including so called scriptures written by anyone in this world blindly just be open minded and be a skeptic. Never in the history of humanity there was availability of internet. Now globally things are changing very rapidly and we are moving towards new era because only truth triumphs. Strong believing in something or someone without know the reality leads to confidence and hence to disaster. Spirituality means seeking the truth not believing or disbelieving anything just trying to build millions of questions about existence bhagwad Geeta is full of questioning. Religion means belief system which will destroy the possibility of knowing the truth. Earths axis makes a circle "wobble" in 25920 years which is set of two yugas. We are in dwapara yuga and treta will start in 2083CE
hindu is river but sanatan dharma is eternal, it means laws that govern the universe. U can find any information in the so called religious books but why do u believe those books? I'm not saying to disbelieve it either , I'm saying be open minded dont believe any book that someone/anyone influenced u to believe as soon as u could understand after u took birth. Why dont u see that u do not know anything? Because if u realise that u do not know only then the possibility of knowing truth exists. U can believe or disbelieve anything but it has nothing to do with reality... U know only what u perceive!! Rest is all imaginations....

Dear Amira, When you asked about Mandukya Karika, Swamiji stopped short of telling what is the truth as per the Mandukya. Nothing has ever been created. And everyone is seeing his or her own dream. When you talked about office conflicts, the Mandukya says the mind itself is Brahman and the colleague is our own atmas creation as part of our own manifestation to get rid of our ignorance. So when it is our atmas creation - again there is no fear since non dual not apart from us -let us accept it that way as it happens -if we remain humble our own creation goes soft on us i think. As far as the discussion between you and Swamiji in terms of what is actually happening , I guess it is better to be silent since the moment we talk as Swamiji says, we introduce duality. Few thoughts.

I always thought like what if when we die, we actually wake up to the "real" world, but in that we also die and we wake up in the "real" world. like a neverending movie just with different scenes. Or maybe we wake up to a parallel universe. But one question that i am itching to know is if we reincarnate, how come i get a factory reset? like how can I not remember my experience if my consciousness has experienced everything. Cause if the consciousness is using the body and mind as a vessel to experience, would it not have experienced another mind or body in the past life?, I feel like a newly born soul who has not experienced any past life. And i know some people can remember there pasts, but to me the idea seems complicated, cause the life and the 'reality' i am feeling how is my consciousness not going to remember this or that from our past lives?. Its either consciousness does not remember or something happens between death and rebirth that makes us not remember, or rebirth does not happen. Even so, how is it that some people remember and others don't? what is soo special about them compared to other people?

As a teacher: find a hill made of dirt. Find a flat stone or rock roughly the size of the foot. Place this rock so it is flat upon the hill facing a forward direction. Side body and awareness of self awareness; dominant sides and dominant mind states. Take dominant foot and place upon stone so inferior foot is downhill. Imagine teaching form this place. Then place the rock foot off of the rock and uphill of your position; now imagine teaching from this renewed platform. Give yourselves a sense of the dominant differences.

When one takes body; the majority of us fall in duality. So one most awaken to the oneness but as a part and parcel. The religions get stuck in the aspects. The demon religions on the body and the world and the spiritual religions in the aspects of trying to love god without the understanding of awakening to the oneness of consciousness. In the same talking the adwaita's get hook up in the oneness without transcending into love of the ultimate consciousness.

World may be unreal, our first person experience is real, suffering is real, our response is real.
But I have a different question - if i hit a stone with hammer it breaks- this is just a physical world. If a baby cries, mother feeds the baby, this is responsive world.
Responsive world through our observation has conscious beings- includes humans, animals etc. Is physical world totally dead and cold (non responsive)- just like a computer algorithm things run. Or is it responsive. As most of the universe is physical world. When I read Asatoma sathgamaya-- this is the question I read even though my teacher explained me differently..

Intellectual understanding , clarity of thoughts , and devotion to cause are great things. I admire that. But experience of getting resolved into bramhan , becoming one with the ultimate truth and losing all consciousness of seperateness is very different..that's what I understand . While agree with all Swamiji says, I follow Swami Tadatmananda from New Jersey, Arsha Bodha Center (kindly interview him also). He says there are different levels of realities. Body mind is one level of reality. Then there is an absolute level of reality the, Brahman. So Brahman Satya jagat mithya does not mean the world is unreal, but that it is transient in nature compared to the absolute reality. So don't cross the highway without looking 😂

One easy way to migrate from duality to non-duality is to eliminate your waking state bias, the waking world is just a dream the same way as a dream. It feels more real but that is because we focus on it. You cannot die in a dream and you cannot really die in a waking world. Not the real you. th-cam.com/video/QOOFNZGVvlQ/w-d-xo.html

The world is not unreal, world is Asatya, Asatya means changing phenomena. World remains constantly there but in a cyclic manner of creation sustenance and dissolution. Supreme Reality is Satyam unchanging eternal ultimate Supreme Truth. The world is expression of Brahman's Shakti called Maya. Shakti and Shaktiman are not two. Therefore the world is the rupa of Brahman alone. But the Swarupa of Brahman is Nirguna Nirakara. To realise the Nirguna Nirakara Brahman we have to attain through the world. Because the world is the effect and the cause of the world is Brahman. Everything is nothing but Brahman. Therefore Advaita Brahman alone is. The world jiva are Ishwara are not three but one Supreme Brahman alone.

The irony of it all is if you are Brahman then you are Brahman whether you realize it or not. Whether you are awake or sleeping or dreaming.
      There cannot be 2 realities.
So whatever life you live, whether you live righteous life or immoral life, whether you eat vegetables or meat (BTW they are all the same Brahman) you are still the same Consciousness.
One person killing other is still righteous since both are Brahman (or appearances = not real, since there is nothing real anyway).
Any appearance can do anything to any other appearance. Just like a movie, it is all fake.

That’s the reason i said earlier that non-dual is fine on paper.
Non dualist will say everything is one but still say Oh but the daily grind of life is still appearance and it is still unique to each = dual and you deal with it as long as you are alive (materially).
You have to face consequences for your actions individually in this life.
When you feel hungry and your neighbor eats lunch just because you are the same consciousness does your hunger satiate?
In fact the grass, the trees, the vegetables, the Earth that they grow on are the same consciousness. Did this really help you in any way?

I disagree that Vedanta states happiness as possible. I did not see happiness in the face of Maharshi when his body was close to die. For sure he was very strong, he did not cry for the pain, but no happiness. Shankara says Na Saukhyan, na dukham. I would say pax and emotion control, deep sense of freedom, but being the witness of the pain is not happiness. Even if you realize the neti neti and the identification with Sat chit ananda atma it is difficult to be happy when you see so much pain not just in the body, but all over the world.
