I think one of the best I bought for my steam deck is the 2-in-one charger hub. If you do not plug in the charger into a power socket, it can still be used as a hub since it has HDMI, 2 x USB port. 1 x USB C port input. 1 x USB C dock port to the Steam Deck.
@@baldlyrudy Awesome, thanks! I have been contemplating buying the 512 GB version, and watching your videos makes me envision my life with it, lol. Keep up the good content!
Great video! I think the best accessory I bought for my steam deck has to be the Killswitch case from Dbrand. It completely changed how I play and use my steam deck. Super comfortable to hold, very durable for travel and overall good looking 🤙🏼 Pricy, but honestly totally worth it
Hmm.... I'll have to check it out, honestly. I went with the Modcase because I didn't want to wait weeks to get one. They were backordered when I was looking at getting one.
*A1 SD cards work good* The difference between A1 and A2 sd cards are download speeds. For the actual gaming, there is no difference. I use a sandisk 512gb A1 card. It works perfectly, with short load times. Download speeds to the sd card over wireless 5G wifi is for me typically 80-90Mb/s ish
The differences between A1 and A2 affect both read and write IOPS (input/output operations per second). A1 has a minimum random read of 1500 IOPS and a minimum random write of 500 IOPS while A2 has a minimum random read of 4000 IOPS and a minimum random write of 2000 IOPS. Yes A1 cards work well, but I'd rather go with better.
@@baldlyrudy What you are saying is true, but it does not matter for the steam deck though. The Steam Deck supports UHS-1 SD cards only. That is to say, it is limited to 100MB/S read speed. Therefore, your SD card doesn't need to run faster than 100MB/S.
@@baldlyrudy no problem, i enjoyed the video, but felt the need to point that out as i bought the A1 card myself because they did not have an A2 card in stock and was at that time unsure if it would lag constantly. So im here to say that to anyone wondering, it runs perfectly using A1. Cheers mate
I bought the Tomtoc case for the steam deck and have been enjoying it a lot. I’ve been thinking about getting thumb grips, but not sure if they’ll add pressure to the joysticks when in the case.
Ive tryed 3 different sd cards from 512 to 1gb . None have worked, either format from settings or desktop mode. I upgraded my ssd and said scew it . I got 2tb now. That the best memory upgrade i found.
There are a few out there. I haven't had any issues with the two. I'm only using the short thumb stick pads, but they only add 2mm in height l. The one that adds an extra 7mm in height might give you some issues.
Sry to say this for a video that seems ok, but the title is clickbait. Unless you go for the cheapest storage options which is not suitable for most people if they already decide to upgrade many of these upgrades are NOT cheap
Appreciate the feedback, and no need to apologize. Cheap is subjective to each person. What I find cheap might be different to you. Clearly $20-$30 is the average here. After paying $400-$600+ for a handheld PC, this shouldn't be much by comparison. Not sure if you saw the whole video, but here's a list of everything and the pricing I see. @@baldlyrudy yeah to me cheap is more below 20 and not the above 30... And the micro sd can, even if it does not have to, go a lot higher easily. Maybe i missed it, but the price list in the description would be pretty good to have i recon
@the_retag for sure! That makes sense. The thing is that prices change a lot, especially around this time of year. I usually don't mention it in videos if I can unless it's the launch of something, since the price will inevitably drop over time. There are so many videos that I make that I can't go back and keep track of things. I'm a one man show. Lol.
why buy an sd card with read write speeds faster than what the steam deck is capable of doing? A1 cards are more than enough for the deck and will not cause any lag or any slower of a load time
That's actually more of a construction knife. It's from a company called Kobalt. They make all sorts of tools and I've had the knife for years. I bought it when I was remodeling my house. I don't think they sell it anymore.
