Congrats on your new deck. There are so many accessories for the deck it’s overwhelming almost. I hope that you found value in the video. Thanks for watching!
You can get 3D printed compartments to put your charger and SD cards into that fit into the slot in the back of the default case, one even acts as a stand when removed. That said it won't fit much more, and wouldn't be built for a different charger(multi port 100w or the like). Don't have a 3d printer? There's plenty of services that print for you out there, I used Hubs(formerly 3DHubs) in the past, which at least then let me work with someone somewhat local for my prints(can't speak for it currently).
1. Don't use thumb grips unless you want to lose functionality. It's minor, and not used often, but there's a touch pad surface on top of each of the sticks that can prove to be extremely useful if bound to a command. 2. If you got the 512 GB version with the glare resistant screen, you'll also want to get a glare resistant screen protector, or it'll just bring the glare back. In addition, if you got the 256 gb or 64 gb versions, then getting a glare resistant protector actually won't help you at all in outdoor environments unless you get a really thick one that might hinder touch controls either partially or entirely. 3. Modding the storage requires that you be comfortable taking your device apart, that you can electronically ground yourself to prevent harm to the device (I recommend googling how to do that), and that you can work in an environment with little to no particles in the air. One thing you can technically do if you're worried about particles and have a spacious bathroom is turn on the shower with the space between your shower and the rest of the bathroom open just a crack, since that'll briefly make the particles wet, which will cause them to fall, but that also necessitates doing the modification inside of your bathroom with the door closed, which many people wouldn't be comfortable with. 4. Grips are good. No additional comment. 👍 5. D-Brand skins tend to wear off after only a few years and often are thick enough to make protective shells no longer fit on the deck. 6. Case is good. No additional comment. 👍 7. MicroSD cards aren't bad by any means, but they're bound to read and write data slower than the internal memory, so save games to one at your own risk. 8. Charger is good. No additional comment. 👍 9. Dock is good. No additional comment. 👍 10. Won't really help unless you've also got a dock, but otherwise good. 👍 11. Power bank is good. No additional comment. 👍 12. Flash drives are extremely temporary and tend to stop working either after only a few months of reading and writing data to them or after wiping them enough times. If you just use them to store an operating system then they'll likely last far longer since you're effectively only wiping them and writing to them once if you just bought them before doing it. 13. Earbuds are good. No additional comment. 👍

What no, USB sticks don't die in a few months, or they couldn't sell them here in Europe where you need your product to work for at least 2 years lol I still have some of my 15+ years old usb sticks that are 2gb and are heavily used and still work decently, the main problem in using a flash drive is not that they break, is that they are extremely slow.
The Sony buds are very expensive but they are really good. Got them after my Sennheiser ones broke for the second time and I got store credit to replace them.
Love your videos. Brand new Steam Deck owner, so I’m learning a lot from your vids and others. If I can recommend an Earbud that’s worth it and won’t break the bank, the Sony WF-C700N’s are fantastic and can pair with two devices at once.
Glad you enjoyed it! That’s the dbrand Zelda Tears of the Kingdom skin. It was limited edition when the game came out earlier this year. They have “knock off” versions I’ve seen on Etsy that look similar.
@@StewdioGamer to be fair you did not imply that directly, just for others who might think that. Otherwise nice video and made me think about picking up a new case. keep it up.
To be fair, you need the higher wattage if you plan on charging more than one device from that charger. I have several similar chargers around my house that are technically 100w chargers but they only do a fraction of that on each port, or they can do 100w on one port if that is the only port charging at that time. I typically use mine to charge both my phone and chromebook/steam deck at the same time so the extra wattage is a plus.
Good vid. I liked a lot of your suggestions and am now looking for some new things to add to my deck. I thought I would add that for docking I've had good success with a simple USB type C dongle. I have a Anker 341(7 in 1) that works well. I don't have ethernet, on it, but I can plug it into my TV or a larger monitor and still use the deck controls. If I want to connect mouse and keyboard, I have a simple stand that I paid $12 for that keeps it upright for cooling and takes up less space.
There are a lot of USB Type C hubs that will work even if they weren’t specifically made for it. Just depends on if it has all the features you want. Sounds like you got a decent solution to it though!
@@axeld00mI've never tested it at 4k - none of the games I run on it benefit from that resolution. The two USB slots on mine have been enough for now, but that is one area I could see wanting more of. Keep in mind that I usually will have the hub plugged in for HDMI and keep using the deck controls. Sometimes I've run a mouse and keyboard and it's enough for that. I will also say that there are SD and Mini SD card slots on my hub that I haven't been able to get to work, but that was with a card in the deck. I'm waiting for 3.5 to hit the safe channel as it should make running multiple cards easier from what I understand.
@@StewdioGamer I think we mostly roll our eyes at them because of previous controllers not needing them, but the added grip is a game changer! Thanks again
Earbud wise, i recommend the wired KZ ZSN Pro X IEMs the quality and latency over the Bluetooth wireless earbuds for the steam deck make them amazing for the cheap price coming in at under $30, I even use them at home over the numerous speakers, soundbars, or headsets i have at the house ranging from $160-$300 because they sound so good. If you're like me and have a place to set up the dock on the go, the ARZOPA 15.6" 1080p portable monitor is fantastic and only costs $75 if you use the coupon thats currently available with it. If you plan on getting a mouse and keyboard I highly recommend the Logitech G915 TKL Keyboard and G502 mouse, they may be a bit pricey but will noticably perform far better than any cheap budget M+KB (I went through a $20 and $50 combo that felt terrible to use before breaking down and buying the Logitech), not to mention that without the RGBs on the batteries in them last days before needing to be charged. Its also easy to find nice carrying cases for both of these if you're taking them on the go.
@@StewdioGamer they also have an additional Bluetooth attachment you can get where you can take the buds off the cable and use them on the Bluetooth module if you need Bluetooth, tho I have yet to get them and try them. Going to get them with my next paycheck next month and try them.
There's much better IEMs at that price range than KZ's product line, especially the ZSN Pro X which have known durability issues not to mention how untrustworthy the company is. Salnotes Zeros, Moondrop Chus (the older version had issues with cable durability, the new version fixed this) are great options for a more neutral sound and Truthear Holas are a great option for a more pronounced V shaped sound profile. These are all cheaper than the ZSN Pro X IEMs and offer much better durability and sound quality.
When I visit my parents, I can play with my old gaming PC from 2005 and its still fun. What is less fun is, that near every music or fan noise makes my mother angry and we argue about this....my solution was a steam deck and I asked my father, if its cheaper in their country than in Switzerland. 2 Days later he asked if this is a Steam Deck and I said yes, but 64 GB is enough and I upgrade it later and he told me: "too late, the 512 GB is already ordered" Here I would have payed 800-900 bucks and he bought it for 500 or 550 bucks and he declares it as a gift 😅 Last time Ive had a handeld was a Gameboy ^^ or Nintendo DS from my sister and really looking forward to try out the deck in 2 weeks. Ive already bought a Dock: Dockteck 7 in 1 USB-C, the version with the stand and it has 2 SD card slots but "only" 2 USB ports. Currently I am thinking about a "JSaux Modcase" and "JSaux screen protector." Any advice what to do first or, besides a obvious powerbank, what to buy next for the Deck?
I prefer Xbox’s design choice that can take rechargeable or alkaline batteries that can easily be REMOVED without needing to crack open the controller.
For earbuds, try soundcore VR P10. They come with a dongle so no BT delay an the dongle has a passthrough for the usb c connector, so you can still plug your power bank. ;)
@@K0D0R0 Funny enough, at first I really liked it but the more I've used it over the last few weeks I'd have to agree with you. Definitely not as good as I first thought
Are you sure you don't mean a 10,000 and 20,000 mAh battery bank? If memory serves something in the range of even 24,000 mAh will only charge a deck up around 3x give or take(they aren't perfectly efficient). And considering the short battery life, you'll want at least 1-2 full charges for say a long flight or something else.
I have one suggestions to you but if you take this one then the video might be like Jsaux sponsored. To begin with I would recommend that the jsaux mod case because with the bundle you can get everything that you need on the steam deck. From a portable dog that sticks on the back of the device do a 20k mAH battery bank and other staff as well like a portable fan to lower the temps of the device like -5~-10 and a socket to make a spare M.2 ssd to an external ssd. And comes with all the cables you might need.
@@StewdioGamer well yeah i bought the whole pack and is awesome 😎 even comes with a screen cover to put it on any bag and even got the carrying bag they have and it is pretty awesome cause it looks like a normal bag and it fits all of the accessories to get to my friends house for gaming sessions 😁 and comes with a stand as well
batteries fail and wear out over time. getting new rechargeables or one of those plug-in charge power banks is cheaper than getting a whole new controller. My only critique is there's no edition that comes with a battery pack as a combo.
I use Xbox controllers because you can remove the batteries. Removeable batteries are way better than non. my ps4 controllers are never usable unless i plug them up with a cable while using
@@StewdioGamer I wish the steam deck had a battery you could swap out. I guess I just miss the early 2000s when everything had a removable battery and you could have multiple.
If you get a screen protector without anti glare I think it will negate the anti glare you have on your 1TB OLED screen. I personally don’t like anti glare anyways because it looks hazy to me and I don’t play outdoors or in brightly lit areas enough to justify it. It’s totally up to you.
i think that you could try portable monitor and use your steamdeck as a controller when connected and there a jsaux dock that use nvme ssd that can be helpful and fast
You can buy a rechargeable battery for the XBOX Controller. But having AA removable battery options is definitely superior, and will keep the controller lasting longer. Can you imagine having to unscrew and dismantle the controller to swap out the battery after a few years? Yuck.
True, definitely get the point. I wasnt necessarily complaining just making a comment because internal batteries are so common now. Thanks for watching 😁
So all in all you recommend this as a main gaming system? I love pc gaming but in a small apartment I don’t 1.) have room 2.) i’m currently dealing with chronic illness so just being on the couch or bed is easier 3.) the price is so competitive i love it
I definitely recommend it. You obviously won’t get the same performance potential as you can from a PC but it still plays everything for the most part. I don’t dock mine much because I have a pc but I play this probably 4-5 days a week in the evening. Usually sitting around or in bed lol. I’m sorry to hear about your illness @macymiller3417 .
Im in a similar situation. Hadn't been able to use my steam library for several years. The decks great. I put a 1tb ssd in mine, set up batocera on my SD card for roms and lay in bed playing. 👍
You can but it will probably reduce or eliminate the anti glare screen in your 512gb you have. I don’t have the 512 so I can’t test this unfortunately.
6:15 - oh no no, not the Lexar card.. It does NOT have fast write speeds. I don't know where that info is coming from. The read speed is fine, but the write may as well be molasses.
Yeah you can download them to the steam deck and play them on the go without internet. You’ll want to connect to internet for game updates, steamOS updates, cloud saves. But otherwise yeah it’s portable.
Honestly, no intregated battery is better. Like for instance, my DUELSHOCK4 barely holds a charge now, because batteries lose it over time. If I want to change it, I have to open it up and fiddle with wires. Meanwhile, my 8bitdo pro controller has a pack and accepts batteries and so when that loses charge over time, I can just buy a new one. Easy peasy.
Yeah a battery pack that is rechargeable and replaceable is the ideal solution. According to those Xbox leaks it looks like they might be moving that direction.
There are two that I use. One is by a brand called Honsky and the other is by a brand called JJC which is an ultra thin MicroSD card holder. Both can be found on Amazon.
The steam deck can't do anything with microsdxc speeds over 100mb/s so don't feel like you need to spend over that, you'll be getting no benefit. Also I really hope you meant 10k and 20k for the powerbanks, 1k barely charges a phone.
FFS just buy a rechargeable battery for the controller. we like removable batteries so we dont have to throw the controller away when the battery goes bad, my controller has lived through 2 rechargeable battery packs now and still good, cant do that if the battery is built in
No integrate battery on the xbox controler? Bro you can get a rechargable battery for like $15 and stick it in there and acts just as the integrated battery would. Who uses AA batteries anyway nowadays.
Thumb grips are truly underrated. On both my Deck and Switch I don’t even wanna play without them.

Good suggestion! I’m a fan of their products I just don’t have that one.
@@StewdioGamer well yeah i bought the whole pack and is awesome 😎 even comes with a screen cover to put it on any bag and even got the carrying bag they have and it is pretty awesome cause it looks like a normal bag and it fits all of the accessories to get to my friends house for gaming sessions 😁 and comes with a stand as well
Brilliant video! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
50 hours in Elder Ring and only 7 achievements... bro 💀
😂 I could care less about achievements. That’s odd though. Stuck on Malenia at the moment.
Great Video! I Like the Dock but i habe ready on Amazon that there are Problems with LG OLED Tv's.
Thank you! I am using LG monitor and a Samsung tv. I can’t speak to the LG TV situation but I have not experienced issues.
Thanks! Very helpful sir!
You’re welcome! Glad you liked the video.
Xbox doesn't have integrated batteries because people still enjoy standard AA batteries. The controller is still good after a decade.
I’m not sure id agree that anyone enjoys them .
batteries fail and wear out over time. getting new rechargeables or one of those plug-in charge power banks is cheaper than getting a whole new controller. My only critique is there's no edition that comes with a battery pack as a combo.
I use Xbox controllers because you can remove the batteries. Removeable batteries are way better than non. my ps4 controllers are never usable unless i plug them up with a cable while using
That is a benefit for sure being able to swap them out. But it still feels weird in 2023 IMO.
@@StewdioGamer I wish the steam deck had a battery you could swap out. I guess I just miss the early 2000s when everything had a removable battery and you could have multiple.
Imagine using BATTERIES in 2023 😂
Cars use batteries now for everything so hmm@@callratchet2295
@@nv31022Wtf 😂😂😂
Aye, another person named Randal
Great video🙌🙌
Haha yep! Mine is spelled with two LL though. Thanks for stopping by to watch the video I’m glad you enjoyed it!
great video man. i really think of getting some skins from dbrand bc it's black friday!
Thank you! I’m hoping to pick up a new skin for my legion go too on Black Friday so good luck to you as well.
Do you prefer the HD Clarity or Antiglare? I am going to use it on the OLED 1tb.
If you get a screen protector without anti glare I think it will negate the anti glare you have on your 1TB OLED screen. I personally don’t like anti glare anyways because it looks hazy to me and I don’t play outdoors or in brightly lit areas enough to justify it. It’s totally up to you.
If you want to keep playing while you charge with a power bank then you need one with PD that can supply 45w
i think that you could try portable monitor and use your steamdeck as a controller when connected and there a jsaux dock that use nvme ssd that can be helpful and fast
Love the portable monitor idea. I have looked at some and had offers to review some but haven’t yet. Thanks for the comment!
Amazing video. You got yourself a new sub!
Thanks for the sub! Glad you enjoyed the video.
if you use nvidia cloud gaming you wont feel a differance in perfomance to a gaming pc
Clone of the Kingdom is back n stock at D-Brand.
It’s there any upgrade that can be done in the graphic card ?
Nothing mainstream to my knowledge. I’ve seen some people do hacked up versions to run something external but that’s it. Don’t recommend doing that.
I've always had issues with the xbox controller staying connected to the steam deck
I’ve had that happen to me once before but not consistently. Maybe something going on with your unit? Other controllers work?
Should I get a screen protector for my 512 special glass deck…
You can but it will probably reduce or eliminate the anti glare screen in your 512gb you have. I don’t have the 512 so I can’t test this unfortunately.
@@StewdioGamer that’s okay. As long as the screen isn’t like blurry or anything
6:15 - oh no no, not the Lexar card.. It does NOT have fast write speeds. I don't know where that info is coming from. The read speed is fine, but the write may as well be molasses.
I have had zero issues with the speed of mine. It might not be the best but the hate it gets I don’t understand.
you are the first channel I've heard calling the ssd upgrade "easy" definitely not for the average user and im surprised by this bold statement
It’s not bold at all. It’s a very simple upgrade with extremely detailed and easy to follow guides out there. I completely disagree with you.
Bold? You take a total of nine screws out, take out the SSD, pop in the new one, and reassemble. Not sure how that's above the average user.
Im trying to find out if i can play my steam library games on the go? And do i need internet? I'm possible consumer just doing my homework
Yeah you can download them to the steam deck and play them on the go without internet. You’ll want to connect to internet for game updates, steamOS updates, cloud saves. But otherwise yeah it’s portable.
needs chapters
Honestly, no intregated battery is better. Like for instance, my DUELSHOCK4 barely holds a charge now, because batteries lose it over time. If I want to change it, I have to open it up and fiddle with wires. Meanwhile, my 8bitdo pro controller has a pack and accepts batteries and so when that loses charge over time, I can just buy a new one. Easy peasy.
Yeah a battery pack that is rechargeable and replaceable is the ideal solution. According to those Xbox leaks it looks like they might be moving that direction.
where did you get the sd card holder?
There are two that I use. One is by a brand called Honsky and the other is by a brand called JJC which is an ultra thin MicroSD card holder. Both can be found on Amazon.
@@StewdioGamer thanks dude, great video by the way
Instead of a dock just get a usb hub with the ports you need, same thing smaller and cheaper
Either works but a dock that has the stand is a nice to have IMO
The steam deck can't do anything with microsdxc speeds over 100mb/s so don't feel like you need to spend over that, you'll be getting no benefit.
Also I really hope you meant 10k and 20k for the powerbanks, 1k barely charges a phone.
Yes that is what I meant. Someone else pointed this out as well in the comments.
I recommend the jsaux thumbgrips since they enhance the thumb sensors :) sucks they only cone in black though
JSAUX makes a lot of good steam deck products so I believe you :)
@@StewdioGamer overpriced but good :)
I found an off-brand thumb grip set in red on Amazon They are almost identical to the JSAUX and come in concave and convex styles.
@@ish.. nice, wish the skull caps also were sensor compatible but they barely register
why would you ever want an integrated battery in your controller that is the worst once the battery life goes the controller is gone
It’s gonna happen whether we want it to or not at some point. Pros and cons to both.
FFS just buy a rechargeable battery for the controller. we like removable batteries so we dont have to throw the controller away when the battery goes bad, my controller has lived through 2 rechargeable battery packs now and still good, cant do that if the battery is built in
Just an observation. Calm down.
noticed no grip?
I don’t use one but wasn’t omitted on purpose.
I literally just got my deck yesterday….. so lay it on me….
Congrats! Welcome to your new addiction you’ll love it.
No integrate battery on the xbox controler? Bro you can get a rechargable battery for like $15 and stick it in there and acts just as the integrated battery would. Who uses AA batteries anyway nowadays.
What skin do you have
“Jay-socks”
Thanks for the clarification
Anker soundcore p10 earbuds
Good suggestion
There is no such thing as furture proofing storage. 10% of my stream library could fill a 4tb ssd.
Thanks for watching!
Link to your skin ?!
It was a limited edition Zelda tears of the kingdom from dbrand. They don’t sell it snymore

Haha thanks for the clarification

At this point I believe Xbox has a lifetime contract to third party battery pack manufacturers. Feeding the family type shh📜📈
Haha probably
