Not really. He realized after a microsecond or two that his viewers aren't likely as flush as he is.

Agreed. But, point is it's more than a little presumptuous to suggest that $130K isn't alot of loot. More than a few people would likely disagree. To Jay it's money he'd find in his sofa cushions; not the balance of his viewing audience IMO.
Jay didn't grow up with a fortune, he still knows what things are worth.

So what the heck does fsi stand for ? Lol
FSI: Fuel Stratified Injection. It's where fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber in a way that reserves power, but increasing efficiency by about 15%. It was made popular by Volkswagen, and their forced induction engines by means of turbocharging. That's where you get TFSI, which is the same with the addition of the word turbo.

The Audi guy says it's faster but is it really? Maybe between two race car drivers on a track but to a guy who buys this and can barely drive to start with it's just a convenience to not burn out clutches and stall it in traffic. To somebody who can drive it's a way more expensive and heavy and complex transmission that may get you a few milliseconds if you ever track it.
HE ALSO SAID IT'S SAFER FOR DRIVERS WHO AREN'T VERY GOOD. PRETTY LAME EXCUSE.
When manuals are offered people don't buy them. Those same people then piss and moan when the manual is no longer offered.
The last Porsche offered with only a manual transmission sold out in days and used ones are selling now for more than the list price of the new car.
Brian Boni He said when manuals are offered as in both auto and manual. And when a car does offer both, its true that people dont buy them. Obviously manual only cars will sell if it's the only thing offered.
I love this R8, its a reliable V10, naturally aspirated, dual clutch and most importantly... RWD. This is a special car, really cool.

I hate when car guys do that 😒 I get it. It won't hurt it. But it's a respect thing with me..I'm not a crazy, compulsive (have to treat the car like it's gold) but common sense is always appreciated

I fell in love with cars since I was a 7 , I'm 42 now ,always watch Jay show and his you tube since before it had 50k subs, I drive 2000 Honda my first car I bought at 18 it got 280k with tape holding the window, still drive it to work can't afford anything for my self, but got a wonderful family ,I'm blessed . But I get to see all this great cars with Jay someone , that loves cars maybe more than me😆 never commented ever first time , wish I can sit in any of this cars , new or old , but at least I get to see them , look forward to next episode 🚘, the Audi guy🙄 oh boy never wanted to mute a guest.

Jay, I am amazed at your shop. I can say that your shop is better equipped than Cal Fire's for the fire bombers in Sacramento. Back in the day, we ran the radial engine power S-2s which were Navy carrier planes tasked to hunt Soviet submarines. It was always a thrill to run those Wright 1820s to 54 inches of manifold pressure. The noise and vibration shook the body's organs. The 1820s had the largest production pistons for radial engines.
So rite on the rear wheel drive but the Quattro setup is amazing especially back in the day the great thing was when it was on the fly so u had the best in both worlds i loved there 5 cylinder GT coupes in the mid 90s i could buy them at the auctions for around a grand and my first a 1990 90 Quattro it was perfect bbs wheels no one had intrest so i paid like $700 bucks and we had a crazy snow storm like a couple days later i already was into VWs but that car drove incredible in the snow and since that car ive been a fan i wish i could buy them that cheap now but atleast i got to experience them i love this rear wheel drive gotta be a drifters dream another great video thanks Jay

This car reminds me of my turbocharged 4 speed manual 1964 Corvair Monza Spyder with the engine in the rear. It had very good startup traction (but no directional stability). Because of the drive train in the rear over the drive wheels.

I think the NSX would sell better if it followed the lead of this Audi less complex less expensive and rear wheel drive . I would prefer the option of a manual transmission

Anthony Gatley Crazy to think that over 20 years later the F1 is STILL the fastest car in his collection, and by a wide margin! There's a 16 cylinder Volkswagen with 4 turbos that was a few mph quicker (when it wasn't in the background of rap videos) but the F1 is still undisputed as the fastest all motor car on the planet. I'm dying to see what's going on with Jay's car!

The $30k Audi charges for the R8 PLUS is nothing more than a tune. VF Engineering can do it. Takes engine from 532 to 600. Why would you ever spend that $30k?

They obviously could, but concerning whether they should, that's been answered by it not being offered. "Enthusiast" consumers often project that they want a stick, but when it comes to actual sales, the bluff is exposed.
You know about 15 years ago, I have a working prototype and sketch of a actuated exhaust that would go from sleeper mode (silent mode) to full (loud mode) and I'm glad to see that car manufacturer are doing "tunes" on the exhaust 👍 to bad I didn't patent it 🤷♂️, never thought it would be something that anyone would want... Oh well

Because its a European car and we use km/hr and 199mph translates to 320km/hr which is a nice round number over here.
It’s 1000 bucks to tune it and get the extra ponies and mph.
