Lol my dream would be the R8 V8 Manual and the V10 Plus with the dual clutch. But I believe you could possibly find the manual V10 if you look hard enough lol
Hi Sonduren, Totally agree!! This is an iconic piece of engineering. I had a 2015 V8 Spyder, sadly I lost it in a fire 10 months ago, since then I upgraded to a 2018 V10 Plus in Mythos Black, and every drive it puts a huge smile on my face. 😊
Your injector issue is not caused by Ethanol in the fuel mixture. 4.2 FSI V8 engines are notoriously known for their oil consumption which on itself is not really anything to worry about, but over time it causes oily-like substance made of oil and carbon to build up in the engine which slowly starts to clog it up. Hence 4.2 V8 should be cleaned every 2/3 years by disassembling them and removing the build ups to prevent any mechanical failures. Other than that those are solid engines.
My OG subscriber. I really appreciate you following along for so long Nelson :) Happy to hear you are still watching and the videos are helpful and fun :)
I can say I have the same love for the R8 as well. It reminds of the car I just bought in many ways. I just got myself one of my other dream cars and 03 Bugeye WRX wagon. I have always wanted one and I found this one completely stock for only $5k and it’s an absolute joy to drive for not a lot of money. Albeit I know it’s high mileage over 200k but it drives like it’s definitely been loved its whole life. Is where I find my car and yours similar aside from them being AWD is they both achieve what they were designed to do as Halo cars and their goals were very similar too as they both combine performance, comfort, and practicality/daily driving. Yes a Subaru is obviously better at the practical side of things and the reliability factor as well but they are both cars that achieve their purpose pretty much perfectly. And that’s really hard to find in a car.
One of the nicest looking super cars ever. It was so ahead of its time, if you put this car in a movie from the future lets say 100 years from now, will fit right in, thats how futuristic the R8 looks. Timeless design, absolute masterpiece. Keep this car forever bro! Take care of it.

Nice video once again! I fully agree on everything you say on this timeless R8... I only have this for one year now but still the same moment of happyness when starting the engine...or just having a look at it. Best value for money supercar in my opinion😊
Just researching the R8, issues for the V8 are air conditioning compressor is apparently an engine out to replace. Leaking MR shocks hugely expensive to repair so many go with the GT coil overs or aftermarket units.. Audi also no longer make ball joints for the V8, so your looking at buying the V10 suspension. Not sure of any other issues. Glad your ownership experience has been positive. I hope to be as lucky.
Make sure to do a good PPI inspection before purchase and you should be fine. I heard that about the ball joints so I bought some ahead of time when they were available. Trust me, this car is worth it :)
So with your 6k bill and probably 300 to 500 a year in maintenance, lets say you spent 10k total with tires brakes and such... basically 2k a year to own an amazing car! Not bad at all IMO...
I had never sat in one or even seen one when I bought mine, sight unseen... 5 years ago for me too, Also with custom exhaust and about same miles. No regrets (Ironman spec - silver, manual). Just put the battery tender on mine a few minutes ago lol.
