Mini Ibiza Tour on a Vespa Sprint 125 Scooter | More fun than an adventure touring motorcycle?

- Whilst on holiday in Ibiza I decided to hire a motorcycle and do a little tour of the island. I opted for a Vespa Sprint 125 (okay, they only had scooters) and I found out where the best roads are. I had a real mini-adventure touring this lovely island.

How much did you pay for the rental?
No idea! It was cheap though. If you hire something like this abroad then test the brakes and check the tyres before accepting the rental!

VESPA luv me, had 3 of them now.
Personally, to be honest, i would rather have a more practical beafier sort of Scooter.

What do you mean by the bike was all over the place? Supposed to be good bikes.
Well, obviously it wasn't brand new. 2 things spooked me out on it straight away. The tyres were fooked and the suspension was buggered.
I had been on the scooter about 1 minute when I had to brake hard for an unforeseen road hazard. The bike skidded and I almost lost both wheels.
Next up was turning. It took me an hour to avoid being tense on turning into bends as it felt like the tyres were going to give way.
Twp points here. I should have checked the pressures myself and I should have taken the scooter back. It might not have been THAT bad but it was not what i was used to.

What sort of storage does that vespa have? What did you like about it?
Under the seat you can easily store a helmet and some minor clothing like wet jacket. Little bit in the front too. A rear box would be a good addition.

I will come back to Ibiza - Loved it. If the weather was better in the winter I would buy a place there!
I had a nice day. The scooter was a handful at first - skidded a lot and I had no confidence cornering but it came good eventually. I was probably just used to epic handling and sports tyres!

Very soon! Looking to go to the Lake areas of England in a nice 4 day tour. That content should be up late August.

What was the scooter like on carriageways?
Fine! It was the twisties that were scary. :)
It topped out at exactly 60MPH.

good video . u were only a stones throw off the stone henge thing at the posh hotel.wtf was the helmet u had on looks fit for the bin .my hire always give me new helmet no dramas
Ha, yeah, the helmet and bike were well used things but overall it was a great experience.

I was. Very dry heat, not a lot of wind and I was burnt from the first day which always makes it worse! :)
The Ol' Club 18 to 30. What happened to that?
I believe it became the 'Club' and then disappeared.
A lot of the usual places frown on the gang drinking behaniour but surely it stills goes on. Ahhhh, the good 'ol, days :

I did have a look at a few of the vendors near my hotel but they were all scooters or quads. Quads scare me and the usual Japanese stuff looked a bit same-oh same-oh so I thought I would try out the Italian Stallion. ha

Well yeah, you can get a good 125cc motorcycle for it.

They are like riding a roller skate, engines are also rubbish the cam chains stretch slip and fail in no time, I’ve owned many scooters including Vesps, I now own a Suzuki burgman and Yamaha Xmas, far superior than Vespa,
I do agree. It was a very fragile bike and often quite scary.

As it happens, I did live in East London for 4 years and worked in the City for 14 years so must have picked it up as I am actually from Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey! Ha
