- Using the Sony FX3 (same internals as the sony A7Siii) to capture forest footage for a client. Had a lot of fun with this one! Always nice when you get to make a film centered around sustainability, especially when you get to use nice camera gear to do it! This commercial was shot for a fashion company that focuses on sustainable and eco-friendly processes.

You can truly make a "simple" place look absolutely stunning, loved the film Aram! You should try repurposing this (reel, tiktok, etc.) ;-) SFXs and Colour Grading next level 🚀
I definitely have the assets for that so I might do just that! (Always forget about insta reels, doesn't even cross my brain).
Wonderful, mate! Loved it! Maybe upload it in 4K next time even if it was shot in 1080p.😉
I really enjoyed watching this! I would love a deep dive into the behind the scenes editing :)
postproduction seems to be the main thing people have mentioned so that's what I'll do osme point soon! :)
Beautiful! I'd be interested to learn more about your colour grading process
Noted! I'll schedule that in for a future vid :) How you enjoying the FX6?
@@aramatkinson Thank you!! I've used the fx6 on 2 narrative projects now and it's been great, very easy to use and operate. I'd be interested to see how it does on a doc
@@elliotforeman I imagine it'd be amazing on docs with the mobile form factor and AF. I've always preferred a heavier camera but I've been super impressed when I've used the fx6 by the image and flexibility
I have a question: why is this video so damn good??
Since my videoguy has moved, I'm getting into videography. Your short truly is inspirational for me! Loved all of it!!
Firstly, thanks man, I'm happy some of my work has found a bunch of people who enjoy it! But secondly, dude, your Jouhikko craftsmanship and playing is sooooo good!!!! Never seen this instrument before but I love it, has a very cinematic sound to it.
@@aramatkinson
You're very welcome! Your work instantly caught my eye and I was watching it on loop ;)! It's short, but there's much to learn!
Thank you for your good words 💪! I really appreciate it, when people take their time and listen in for a while :)!
The Jouhikko has indeed a special sound to it. Ancient. Somewhat unexplored. I really like this instrument in combination with our beautiful nature!
Now I need to learn how to capture and combine that on my own!
Looking forward to this journey!

Hi Aram! great work...did you had a gimbal on this? thanks
Hey Palma, thank you! Yes I did, I was using the movi m10, which i'll be honest, I hate. In fact I hate using gimbals completely lol, but for nature I think they do bring something very nice to it (when the gimbals work...gimbals are my absolute nemesis)
@@aramatkinson jajajaj i see! sometimes is a must...i will go for my first one..thanks!
Amazing footage!! This is the kind of video I love to shoot! what lenses did you just? do you use prime, cinema, or zoom lenses? thank you!
Thanks! I used...a sigma 24mm 1.4, 35mm 1,4, and a contax zeiss 50mm may have also made an appearance. I don't remember using a 100mm macro as most of the shots are gimbal shots, but I do often go to that lens in nature shoots
@@aramatkinson Thanks for answering me, I just bought a camera and I didn't know what lens should I buy, but I do know🙏
awesome!! pls let me know the lenses used in this video??
Thanks!! Lenses were: a sigma 24mm 1.4, 35mm 1,4, and a contax zeiss 50mm may have also made an appearance. I don't remember using a 100mm macro as most of the shots are gimbal shots, but I do often go to that lens in nature shoots. I believe there are two probe lens shots too, being the mushroom bark area
@@aramatkinson super, thanks for the info☺
@@symons4242 Any time!
Awesome job mate. Which picture profile do you use?
Cheers Ben! Slog 3 90% of the time (pp8 I think it is), but during low light I usually switch to slog 2.
nice work. what white balance did you use?
I changed it depending on what time of day I was filming but most of it is shot between 5200-5600k. I bumped it a lot higher when I went out early in the morning when it was still blue but I didnt' end up using much of that footage.
