I didnt think I was watching a 12yo video at first. Very professional and good quality. And thank you for making it. I am currently going down the rabbit hole of SFI ratings, latch styles, belt widths, and mounting points to make a legal and safe race car.
thank you thank you thank you--- you are the only tutorial which explains how to thread the belt.. you make it easy and simple without all the extra nonsense that all the other videos use as filler...
Thank you! Was struggling getting my new safety harnesses onto my kids go cart (tried to use the bolt on method but didn't want to tack weld new brackets on) and this video helped me tremendously!!!
I thought I'd seen a lot of know-it-alls on various car forums (especially FT86Club)... but to actually see people on here telling Schroth that they are installing their harnesses wrong?! Wow...! Suppose they'll be telling Ferrari how to build cars next.
Hey this was a great video thank you very much for the help my car is a project card it's been sitting for a while I forgot how to install my harnesses again. Lol. Thanks
To all the people talking about harness bars, roll cages typically have their harness bars integrated as that center bar. You do not have to have a harness bar mounted to the roll cage if the roll cage has its own bar built in for that purpose since the built in bar is much more secure than a harness bar. The built in bar is better than the harness bar, which is more of a temp-fix for people who have no roll cages or roll cages without horizontal center bars. However, the statement "no harness bar= no harness" doesn't apply here. The point of the harness bar is to provide an anchoring point at the correct height instead of the vehicle floor for to prevent spinal compression. the roll cage does the same. It really doesn't matter as long the bar is strong and placed at the correct height. Though granted, having that bar at a slightly higher height would be safer, because for harnesses, the belt is supposed to be either parallel with the floor or angled upwards towards the rear to prevent spinal compression in an accident.
I would love to see the best way to determine the correct length. I can follow the wrapping instructions, but it did take a few tries to get the length correct. I'm sure it's very simple, but please add that in the next time you update this video.
wow, cant belive idiots in here saying you need a HARNESS bar LOL, a harness bar is for the little wannabees who dont have a real roll cage, and its prefered to mount to the actual cage than the body of the car so that you dont get your spine compressed in the event if a accident. imagin if the car breaks apart and the floor pan goes with it that your harness is attached too. the roll cage is going to the most sturdy part of the car and also the part that is not going to move much in a accident. the idiots commenting about how this is wrong coudnt be farther from the turth, truth is most people dont wrap there harness right or mount them correctly, this is actually one of the vidios that shows you the right way.
I'm trying to convert the sub belts on my prof ii from wrap-in configuration to snap-in configuration. Aside form the snap-in buckles and LV4 bar slides (and of course the eye bolts and backing plates) is there anything else required for the swap? Thanks!
This is very reminiscent of those how to tie a tie videos. Lots and lots of rewinding, ha. Thank you for this. No way is it possible to read the manual and figure out what they mean
you need at least a harness bar to mount your belts to or a mounting point that will be at shoulder height. if you mount your belts anywhere below that in an accident it can compress your spine and cause serious spinal damage.
he did it right. that one bar is the harness bar, and it's weld/integrated to the roll cage. most harness bars are for show, and not safety. only time a harness bar would be okay is for solo(autocross) and use it with a good harness. why harness bar get a bad name is because people will use them on the streets with a 4 point harness. which is not good. in a crash you can submarine under the lap belt, also your shoulders will be held up right at the same causing your neck to be thrown front and then back. can you say head bangers ball. safety works as a system. schroth and hms (one of the main leaders in motors sports) know what they are doing. if you are going to buy a harness bar at least make sure it's a good one, or have a race shop build you one. also use good stuff (schroth, pyrotect, simpson, cobra, sparco, corbeau, etc.) and stay away from the show/stance ebay crap. (braum, nrg, ciphar auto, etc).
When i crashed my 92' miata my harness saved me from breaking my face on the steering wheel. The airbag broke my tooth caused a concussion and burn my face a little. Without the airbag i would have walked away but since i still hadn't gotten around to taking it out i got knocked out and woke up in the hospital. The harness is enough to save your life the airbag just made things worse in my case.
@apchepilot13 No. It can be bolted somewhere in the car...be sure to cross the belts(behind the seat), ect. Check this out for more info on how to install, Google SEARCH- how-to-mount-a-harness-setup-with-no-roll-cage-harness-bar.html First result is what you want :)
yep he can but those are mainly for looks. this is the right way to build a true w2w track car. only time I say a harness bar is okay solo(autocross) .
U dont need a harness bar..they ate shii. Either a roll bar or roll cage. Cabt afford it? Then you shouldn't br using a damn seat brlt harness. Also a bucket seat be great!
No harness bar = no harness. These things have a purpose, it looks cool but if ou want it to do what it's supposed to do you must have a harness bar mounted on your roll bar/cage
So, you know proper race car setup more than the actual manufacturer of true race safety components? Get back to need for speed and leave the real racing to the adults.

can't believe this video is 11yo but still the top recommended on YT and was a super informative video too! :)
This video is gold strill in 2023!!
This is best informative and in depth video I have found on this topic !
Thank you! Was struggling getting my new safety harnesses onto my kids go cart (tried to use the bolt on method but didn't want to tack weld new brackets on) and this video helped me tremendously!!!

Literally looking for someone who explains the strapping this easy thank you dude 240sx 1993 just got the belts
Brought this video outside to help me install my Hybrid II 6pt harness. Thanks! Wish I had a cool job like you.
Thanks so much! Great video and it helped me so much installing my 4 point harness in my 350Z!!
Hey this was a great video thank you very much for the help my car is a project card it's been sitting for a while I forgot how to install my harnesses again. Lol. Thanks
Thanks man. I really couldn't find a vedeo. On this 2 point . Seat belt..for my 60 c10 ...thanks...again...

Best video I’ve found on properly installing a harness, thanks for the help!
This helped a lot Ongontavious appreciate it
Great video!
Great job. easy video. the people can't figure it out, then those are the people that are unsatisfiable.
Thank you so much this video was perfect 😊
Nice video! Was wondering how to install
My harness to
The roll cage thanks
Great info, thank you
Great video. I appreciate the detail and explanation. Made this really easy for me. Thank you

SCHROTH Racing - Training Video #1 - LV4 Wrap to End Fitting

Muchas pero muchas gracias, me quedó super claro ahora.
Do you know which exact model came with the 2020 Mercedes Amg Gtr pro? Im trying to buy one for my car because in US it didnt came with it.
Hi, i would like to know why passing a certain distance between the seat and the bars in the roll cage you need to cross the wraps of the seat belt
How can i remove the TAKATA Tail Straps (Snap or Bolt) for Harness-Bar mount?
I'm trying to convert the sub belts on my prof ii from wrap-in configuration to snap-in configuration. Aside form the snap-in buckles and LV4 bar slides (and of course the eye bolts and backing plates) is there anything else required for the swap?

Cool , thanx for this info!
@nanahara72 do you have to have a roll cage for harness to be installed?
@harlemkiid149 Some companies such as sparco sell a singular bar that is mounted behind the seats like so that will allow one to wrap their harness.
Smart to do with the excess length of the harness... Previous owner just decided to cut the strap off! 🙄
im just wondering when using racing harness can you leave the air bag in? or would it hurt u if you leave it in while wearing a racing harness?

How can I purchase the l b four
do you need to have a roll bar with that harness
Thanks for the ziptie trick.
@apchepilot13 No. It can be bolted somewhere in the car...be sure to cross the belts(behind the seat), ect.

First result is what you want :)
oh also harness bars, don't use them in the streets. harness use at least a 5 point, if not a 6 or 8 point.
now! how do you unstrap it?
do u need roll bar tom wrap it
You can get a product called a "Harness Bar" it bolts into existing mounts for a seat belt etc and stretches accross the car interior!
yep he can but those are mainly for looks. this is the right way to build a true w2w track car. only time I say a harness bar is okay solo(autocross) .
Lv10 seams a lot safer to me.
If you do then you cant have back seat passengers
U dont need a harness bar..they ate shii. Either a roll bar or roll cage. Cabt afford it? Then you shouldn't br using a damn seat brlt harness. Also a bucket seat be great!
I thought you should never secure your shoulder harnesses directly behind the seat like that as it can cause injury in an accident?
Mine is bolted to the frame of they car.
you will need a harness bar.
They are*
NFSgamer really? Do you know Schroth's credibility? Probably not because you play need for speed.
No harness bar = no harness. These things have a purpose, it looks cool but if ou want it to do what it's supposed to do you must have a harness bar mounted on your roll bar/cage
nvr mind
To put it simply, don't do that.
Fuuing sucks typing on cell
Need a half cage or harness bar buddy.
You stupid
at very least get a harness bar
DO NOT anchor your harness to the harness bar/roll cage, like he did. It becomes a risk in a crash.
This is literally how real race cars are prepped.
So, you know proper race car setup more than the actual manufacturer of true race safety components? Get back to need for speed and leave the real racing to the adults.
@@robmeador8971 damn. 2 year old comment and he's probs still cooked to this day!! LOL
