thank you sir for the video. just got done with ours. i took a few short cuts once i found the culprits. the two rear sliders were filthy. they did not move easily. washed and lubed and now awesomeness has returned.

I watched both of the videos from start to finish and I did find them to be long but at the end, I had time to let everything sink in. I won't need to come back. Nice job and thanks.
Thx MacTFordEdge! I did your sunroof fix this moring and now it closes without pulling on it. It closes in about six seconds. Initializing was pretty easy you just have to listen closely and hold the button in for about 15 - 20 seconds. Then you hear the noise the sun roof makes.
I watched both full videos and you explain it very well, kudos to you I will try it on my sister's Kia Sportage with panoramic roof and is slowing down when almost closed shut

In my edge 2007 the tow pieces how guide the sunroof are not aligned because the left guide is broken and I can't close it how I can reset it or alignment that pieces I appreciate your help!!!!
I have ford edge 2008,is a double sunroof ,the front one is working good but the back one shade is not closing, please boss how can I close the sunroof shade?
great tutorial, however and just like what happened to me, we both forgot to put that plastic running accordion thing on the rail that holds it to the glass. hahaha i´ll take mine apart again tomorrow, it was jammed, now it runs smoothly.
This evening I got home tried to close my vista roof and I heard a loud snap and realized my roof was not closing. I was very frustrated and since it was already dark all I could do was manually close. Found your video and really enjoyed it. Seems easy enough, but one thing I am not sure of is if the guide is broken what then? Can I find those at the dealer?
Any videos on replacing the inside sunroof sliding liner or cover? Mine came off the rail and I was quoted over 2k at Ford to replace and install Thanks.
My headliner came loose around the rear of the sunroof and now the sunroof won't open and the rubber trim is also loose and coming off. I don't want to tamper with it incase I make it worse. Did you get yours fixed or what did you do?
True enough it does require periodic cleaning/maintenance, I figure the interval could be extended by using something such as silicone spray rather than grease that collects dirt. Blow out the crud and reapply the silicone aerosol. I just bought a FWD 2013 Edge a little over a week ago, no Vista Roof though. Just my 2 cents.

Hi, do you think I can clean the roof and lubercate the rail without take glass off the rail? Just using lubricant spread on rail.
Very informative I’m looking at a high mileage one for a daily driver the dealer didn’t want to fool with.

Really depends on what has broken. Could it be the accordion shades? Hopefully this is all it is.

The dielectric grease is water resistant. Dust and dirt will eventually collect. This is why yearly cleaning is a must.
