Thank you sooo much for this quick fix! It was a struggle lining up the holes to put the glass back on with the bolts, but once we got them on, it worked PERFECTLY! Sunroof is shut and sealed, just in time for the rain. Can’t thank you enough!
@@robinski2000 be sure to pull the headliner down at the back opening and unplug the motors. Make sure your shade is shut first. You don't want to risk someone reaching up there and pushing the button and opening it again
I opened a sunroof with broken clips all the way open on a used Edge I bought. It then would not close cause of the broken clips. I zip tied the moving clip to the sunroof part and it pulled it almost shut. Then cut off the zip ties as the final closing is just done by pushing it by hand. Then you need to open slightly til you see the glass nudge back then you push forward on the front glass rim as you press the button to close. Do this over again working it forward slowly. It will slowly work it way back shut. For some reason it very tough to move the glass forward so the zip ties was needed to get it almost shut But the last 2 inches it easier to push close while you in the front seat and pushing if forward by hand after you remove the zip ties.
I might have to have my son give me a little help, he is a button pusher 😂 I bought two large suction cups for moving glass etc. I'm going to give this a try. Thank you
Those aluminum front guides aftermarket parts are great. I found some on Amazon awhile back for 12$ each set. Bought 4 of them since I see lots at precision Auto Glass Centerville Utah
@@MichaelSilbergleid you could do that or you could just pull the headliner down in back and unplug the motor. Just make sure the shade is wherever you want it because it won't work if you disable the sunroof
Are you sure the glass is closing fully? The shade won't close if it "thinks" the glass isn't fully shut. If it is, then you might have a bad shade motor, or the shade itself might be binding.
Thanks! This saved us a costly repair on our Edge. And bonus points for giving the precise size Torx driver.
Okay now I know what’s wrong and how to fix my 13 edge sunroof! Thanks much brother 👍❤️💪
thank you so much, worked perfectly. I had my son push the back of the glass with a 2 x 4 while I hit the switch and it dropped right in!

Thank you for this great, informative video, Brother. This save me a ton of time and money, certainly.

Have the car running when you do it. It gives the motor a little more juice to help it close easier

To lock the sunroof closed, should I just remove fuse 8 in the drver well?
@@MichaelSilbergleid you could do that or you could just pull the headliner down in back and unplug the motor.

@@SealofPerfection I realized it's fuse 8 in the engine. Driver well 8 is listed as a spare. Thanks.
IT worked thanks
How do you close the shade cover if the glass closes but the shade wont? I have a 2008 Edge.
Great videos, BTW!

You're not close to east tn are you? i have a 2014 edge that you can work your magic on.
