Glad to see you guys reacting to Donut Operator's videos. He's a pretty cool guy. Ex military and retired police officer. He often covers a lot...and I mean A LOT of police involved shooting videos and gives break downs and reviews of them to help teach or explain why either the officers would be in the right for using lethal force in certain situations...or if maybe they were in the wrong with how they handled a situation and how they could have handled it better to of came to a better possible outcome.
Wouldn't mind seeing you guys reacting to more of Donut's videos.

There is no shooting someone in the leg or arm as a warning. If you are using deadly force, shoot center mass. Warning shots are very problematic depending what state you are in. It's good to see donut operator on the channel.

I was military, I was always trained to take lethal shots. Never shoot to injure.
One, it’s never humane to make someone suffer by purposefully injuring them, a shot to the heart or head and it’s pretty instant. If you injure someone and that injury leads to say then losing their leg you’ve got yourself a liability on your hands.

Generally speaking guys, you're trained to shoot center mass (i.e. in the chest area). Given his distance from the suspect he was likely aiming center mass and there was some drift because the suspect was a bit further away than he was thinking.

Every shooter is trained to shoot centre mass (the largest surface area of a target), what else would you be training to hit. The police officer fired one shot, not 3-5, and radioed it in. If he was aiming for centre mass he would of fired a lot more shots. He knew what he was aiming for, and hit what he shot at. He did a great job, and took a nice shot. He didn't miss. Your comment is weird. This officer trained to shoot people in the head, because he needs that training for his job, he was also trained to shoot centre mass, because that's how you train to shoot.

    • @darksydedigital

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Seriously, there are serious responsibilities that come with owning a gun. When you wave it around and point it at people while screaming, you have to expect someone might take you out. If he really wanted in the house, he could have broken windows and got inside. He probably just wanted to scare them and it got out of hand. Could have been a suicide by cop situation too. Even a crazy person in this country knows that if you point a gun at a cop, they don't wait for a written explanation, you're probably going to die of instant led poisoning. Guess we'll never know his true intentions.

It looked like he was quite far away actually, I know these bodycams are often wide-angle lenses so judging distance is hard, but the odds that he was aiming to hit him in the head is really unlikely, probably aimed for center mass like you're supposed to and just "missed" high. But that reason is exactly why you DO aim for center mass.

Yea.. when you are armed and aiming a gun at a person, the person you’re aiming at doesn’t know whether or not you are going to pull the trigger. It is well-known and should be common sense, do Not point a gun at anyone, including self, especially any authority. If I had someone that angry and pointing his gun at me, less I was well covered from harm, I’d shoot him. I’d like to think I could warn the person but the decisions often need to be quick. You never know, and if you are not the aggressor, it’s self defense right? It doesn’t take much time for a trigger pull, and in those potential life and death situations you’d do what you can to protect yourself.

The only issue I have is that cop went in with the wrong mindset. He was already high on adrenaline and likely thinking he would be shot at or would be shooting at someone. The chances are they would have talked that guy into surrendering, because he clearly wasn't looking to go out after causing as much destruction as possible or he would have harmed the high vis vest guy along with randomly firing into the home or at the police.
If you watch these types of videos there always the few cops that should not be there, they are high off of adrenaline before they even get on the scene, and have the wrong mindset to make rational decision. Its mostly because they are trained this way, they are trained that everyone is out to harm them, and their lives and their fellow officers lives are more important than "civilians"
There a popular video of a man that was pulled over for something, he tells the cops he has a CCW and there's a gun in the vehicle, maybe within 1 to 2 minutes one of the 2 officers pulls out their pistol and has it pointed at his head with the look in her eyes of the intent to kill him. You see this a lot online, If you are that afraid being injured or killed then you shouldn't be a police officer

Maybe I just don’t like guys like the bearded narrator (in the video you’re watching, not talking about Daz) whose whole thing is playing a tough guy online and who make cheesy little jokes over videos of people’s last minutes on earth.

Not particularly a fan of this guy. I understand that the dude was a criminal, and has threatened lethal harm, but the lack of tact this guy has about the fact that a man for whatever reason lost his life, whether justifiable or not rubs me the wrong way. I used to watch a decent amount of “active self protection” and I feel like that guy did a much better job of explaining situations while not being immature. This guy barely explained anything, it felt more like a typical story time TH-camr, but rather than telling an interesting story he told the story of a man on the worst day of his life and monetized this man’s death.
