    It looks like they escorted the woman out before reality could set in because she handled that surprisingly well. Then again, it probably messes with your head after the incident is over. I drove one of my friends to a hospital because he just got stabbed. I was strangely calm during the whole thing but it's hard to talk about after it happened. Pretty crazy how things can happen so quickly and how people process information. Like a delayed response from the cop saying "Oh Sh*t!".

      Well there’s one guy in particular who is a 1st amendment auditor and a lawyer and has won hundreds of thousands of dollars from lawsuits against police. I really liked his content, until he praised a man who was beating up his pregnant girlfriend and then killed a cop.
      Donut might be a little bias but it’s not his priority to show the negativity surrounding police and chooses to show positivity.
      The first amendment auditor I used to be a fan of could have hours worth of content of police saving babies, or adults but that’s not his perogative and wouldn’t help him make money.
      There’s much more positive videos of law enforcement but people tend to focus on the negative videos. 🤷‍♂️
      Oh, some cops responded to a domestic violence call and possibly saved a woman’s life 10k views - on the contrary, police officer tases suspect who is suspected of theft 500k views.

    It's not just the escalation of violence once a suspect presents a guy. It's also the surroundings and context in many ways. There's plenty of bodycam footage of Cops knowing a suspect has a gun yet getting into stand offs and de escalating with no shots fired. In the situation in the video all those cops at the door now realized it turned from a domestic to a full on hostage situation. A cop's primary job is to neutralize hostility while persevering themselves and the population...
    If it were a call of just a man with a gun and no civilians are nearby? They'll absolutely try to calm things down even if the suspect still has a hold of the gun. Once the barrel of the weapon gets raised is when the volley of fire comes.
    A lot of the controversial shootings often occur when a cop gets on scene with virtually 0 information about the call.

    Don't get it twisted. The average cop does nothing day after day, the percentage of cops who fire a weapon in their entire career is quite low. I don't think police officer is even in the top 20 of most dangerous jobs. Just ask a cab driver or a convenience store clerk about that. Your selection of videos gives a skewed idea of the life of an average American cop. Not that stressful or exciting.

    Training isn't helping because they aren't trained to deescalate. So, you can pay them $80k yearly and it wouldn't solve the problem, Dave. The problem is the type of people they hire. The ones you would probably want working as a police officer won't do it because to them it's not worth it.

    'Defund the police' was never a thing. That term was coined by opposition to a liberal idea like changing the way police are funded by diversifying and reallocating funds societal policing needs. Most notable was hiring (and training) social workers and psychologists to work hand in hand with police officers to help deescalate situations like this video to lessen people 'taking a shotgun to the face'. Now, try describing that decent idea to the public without your political opponent shortening it to make it sound like something stupid like... 'Defund the police'... 🤔😒

    • @scottdebruyn7038
      @scottdebruyn7038 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chadwickvon8019 I'm talking about the original idea and liberal / democratic plans to look at the overall funding of policing our society. The problems that looked at solving was to diversify that policing to handle issues that straight up police training was not handling well. Because they weren't trained for it... such as domestic disputes which are, sadly a good portion of police calls. 'Defunding the police' was a way for conservative / republicans to demonize what 'the other side' was proposing. The hypothesis is, if you increase the size of a police force, increase it with people trained in domestic dispute resolution instead of more guns drawn and blazing police (cops). The effect would have been to offload a good percentage of 'policing' from 'cops' to specifically qualified personnel. With fewer calls for 'cops', fewer 'cops' needed meaning less funds needed for 'cops' although those funds would move to other personnel. It was a great idea (still is!) with the drawbacks of needing to get the details worked out, implementing the required changes and worst, the idea doesn't fit on a placard for liberals across from conservatives at the demonstrations. I don't doubt that it is being tried in some places that still needs work, but to continue to call it 'defunding the police' is just a shitty misnomer. 🤔😒

  • @lexzone-six9912
    @lexzone-six9912 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Defund the police doesn't mean less training, it means diverting the money they use on military grade weapons to better crisis management training like they have in the UK. American police are more likely to escalate dangerous situations themselves because they're trained to go straight to lethal force even when the situation doesn't call for it.
