For some reason, it's a Oklahoma thing, where they put a person in the front passenger seat… I've seen it done before. I seen a Oklahoma deputy that used to do live streams of his patrol, and he would pull over people, and get them to come sit in his passenger seat while he ran their information, seems dangerous to me

I think legally an officer can use deadly force if you attempt to steal their vehicle because it could reasonably hold dangerous weapons. I'm not sure if different jurisdiction have different rulings though but I think its more reasonable than not even if the vehicle itself isn't considered deadly (which I personally do).

If there were some maniac running around with a loaded gun endangering the lives of countless people, we all know how that would end. Why should this be treated any differently. The moment someone starts to flee from the police and endanger the lives of others, deadly force should automatically be authorized. Take them out before they take someone else out.

The Colorado incident had many instances of law enforcement incompetence. The senior officers car ran out of fuel. The arrest was a cluster fuck. The officer putting spike straps in front of a long line of vehicles pulled off on the side of the road was especially stupid. If you see a police officer putting a spike strip down , you need to get the hell out of the way. None of that means the dude stealing the car had no responsibility but that scenario needs to be used as an example of bad choices. The whole video is available to watch.
