    I run 5-40 rotella for 1000020 miles and no issues. It was 2005 V-Strom 650.

      A lot of people like to run Rotella. Not a bad choice. Thanks for watching.

    My 2009 DL650A owners manual states to use an oil with API SF/SG, OR SH/SJ, OR JASO MA. There is no requirement in the manual for both API and JASO specifications.
    I know the guy is trying to sell a product, but it would be nice if the folks started by saying “follow what your manual says” before selling me on a product. That being said, I use Liqui-Moly products in my Passat Diesel, and like the product and the price.

    I appreciate the content that this channel provides. I might say though that I own a service company that services vehicles and equipment for utility companies and I've been successfully using rotella t6, at 100 hour intervals, in all their side by sides for a total of 6,000 hours between three machines and the motors don't show any signs of oil related wear. These machines are used for work in a sandy environment by people who abuse them and don't pay for the maintenance or repairs. Just saying that you don't need to buy boutique oils for longevity but you do need to know what you're putting in an engine and do some homework first. FWIW oil and air filter quality make more difference than oil brand or base stock. Actually some of the most expensive oils have the highest evaporative loss in real world situations....

      Hi James, thank you for watching our video and your great insight. Your remark about oil/air filter quality is right on the mark. yes, there are plenty of oils out there that are less expensive and are of good quality/properties. But there are people who find a brand or have a preference and stick to it. We just like to show our followers what's available. Thanks again for taking the time to watch our video.

    I’ll buy that motorcycle oil has different additives, but regarding RPMs, good ol 15w40 diesel oil needs to keep up with a turbo running in the 10s of thousands RPMs day long, and it does.

    I just went from my 21 CB300R to a 16 FZ-09. Always used car oil. I believe it's simply better in EVERY aspect over motorcycle specific oil. Lets see if these "clutch slip" myths are true with all this power.

    One reason I would never use this oil. After watching piotr tester on TH-cam. Liqui moly Street race 10w60 metal protection . Started at 0,92 end at 0,82.....Motorex cross power 10w60 started at 0,92 end 0,89

    I look at it this way, as much money we spend on a motorcycle why not just use what the owners manual says to use , everyone has there own way of thinking and doing things but I just read my owners manual and do what they say

    according to the smart people just run shell rottella diesel oil in everything -- i even wrap my Briskets in it instead of tallow at the end of the cook it does it all

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, cut out the process of rendering the beef tallow from your trimmings and just use Rotella...that's a good idea. hahaha.

    I have used quality car oils in my motorcycles for almost 40 years , Metric and HD. Never had any issues. IMO motorcycle specific oil is about 10% fact and 90% marketing Hype.
