    The butt connections on the wires were a great tip. I usually solder them.

    Great wiring video. Simple and easy explanations. Love the new radio.

    Nice work Beav, I just got a 95 YJ this week and it has got a poorly installed neon flashing nightmare stereo like yours. Added to the wish list and looks to be a fine choice for replacement. The purpose of a relay is a low voltage/amperage circuit being used to turn on a high voltage/amperage circuit. Save the Squares!

    The radio is made by VDO and really good Germany company, they also make after market gauges very popular gauges.

      Yeah I’ve been really happy with it so far. It’s far louder than my last one which also surprised me. So that was a cool bonus.

    Yep Mr. Beav is spot on with the explanation. And heres the thing everyone is scared of wiring only because they dont understand it. But its really easy to learn it (then you feel stupid for ever being scared of it)
    Good job Guys!

      Yeah, he's right about most things... Just don't tell him that, it'll go to his head! Haha, But seriously, I'm trying to learn and I'm just glad I can pass what I learn at the same time as I'm learning.

    Great video as usual! I had to get a rental car this week and I got a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Lovin' it!! Also, good to run into you at the Winery.

      Thank you! Yeah it was great seeing you too! How long do you have the rental... you might need to hit up a dirt road or 3.

    I feel your pain I was switching mine over to EFI and been having issues with getting it running to finding out I have 3 bent push rods which are 3 intake valves not opening. YJ life, but maybe one day I'll get it done and get down your way which is one county over lol

    Good job! That would have been a good time to switch to LED 🙂You really need a good pair of flush cut pliers for that stuff... worth their weight in gold! I use 14 gauge sheathed automotive wire using WAGO connectors for all that stuff. When I added mods to my motorcycle I also added a secondary Blue Sea fuse block. Makes it real easy to follow all the mods and remove if selling. Thanks!

    • @SimplyMustGo
      @SimplyMustGo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We actually used 12 gauge wires and turns out we probably used have used 10 gauge. I’ll probably put in a second relay to distribute the power a little more. As it stands it’s still pushing the upper limits.

    Can you provide links for the wiring harness? Is there a specific one? Also a link for the radio mount if possible.

    • @SimplyMustGo
      @SimplyMustGo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Unfortunately I didn’t change the wiring harness I just used the one I had. As for the radio mount. I’ve only ever really found them on eBay or Facebook marketplace. Sorry I’m not much help here.

    So, our jeep yj (1987) when it is turned off and not in use, something keeps killing the battery.. My Fiance' thinks it could be the voltage regulator... He already replaced the alternator so we know its not that doing it.. Does anyone have a idea of what could be causing this to happen..??

    • @SimplyMustGo
      @SimplyMustGo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like there's a parasitic drain from something. Radio, alarm system. Maybe a courtesy/dome light on. Hood light etc. I've had mine sit for several months and it would start right up. I do have a battery conditioning tender on the battery which I use sometimes. th-cam.com/video/g8pDJ7Cb0QU/w-d-xo.html
